so basically it makes no sense putting a iPhone 7 screen in an iPhone 8 because it won't work right?

Damn, do you seriously not realize that if you simply install the home button and everything else from the 8 onto the 7/7+ display that this works absolutely flawlessly? I have done it numerous times
So I have to switch the earpiece speaker and the homebutton to an iphone 7 display and it will work on the 8 ?
@@nikoslavigra3736 yep, everything is interchangeable and will work out and allow the device too boot.......
but because of the sep (secure enclave processor) you can only have touch id functional if it is the same home button that's originally paired with the motherboard. But the phone would work with a different button only touch id would display a message informing you that it will not work anymore. Regular home button actions besides that still work however. There are programming tools to re pair logic boards with the button data and also for face id/ true tone on newer devices but they are a bit costly for people only interested in changing their own personal device screens.
So i watched the video. Did they install the iphone 8 internals into the chassis frame of the iphone 7 since its metal and better made? Then they had to put an iphone 8 screen with matching internals on an iphone 7 frame. This helps me since im wanting to buy one of the newer models which have fragile glass backs, and i wanted to switch out the glass for metal.
This video is not accurate, this happens when the home button is not installed.

@Vince V The iPhone 7 screen is fit on iPhone 8. You may choose the LCD screen to replace your iPhone 8 screen. It would be brighter than the original screen.
