- Hi there. Me again! In today's video, Ethan and I travel to LA to shoot 8mm motion picture film for the first time. We used a 1940s Revere Model-88 camera that I got Ethan at a thrift store for $30. We shot a roll of Film Photography Project's Cine8 Color 40 film which to my knowledge is just respooled Kodak Vision3 50D. We also shot a bunch of 35mm stills with my Canon P, His Nikon N8008, and a plethora of film stocks including CineStill 800T pushed to 1600 iso, Kodak ProImage 100, Kodak Portra 800, and the new "Fuji 400" which I'm convinced is just repackaged Kodak Ultramax 400. During our trip, we stayed in the heart of Hollywood Blvd. We visited LA's Chinatown, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, and even wandered around the Academy Museum of motion pictures and Paramount Studios for a while. We ended the trip at the famous Chinese Theater to see Oppenheimer on 70mm IMAX film (which was the main reason we came to LA in the first place). We also got a quick tour of the projector room and got to see how one of these giant rolls of film is loaded onto an IMAX projector! Overall, it was a great trip, and I am really proud of how this video and the photos turned out! I hope you enjoy this longer format video and all of the different media formats used to create it. Also, make sure to get out and see something new every once in a while. and make sure to leave this planet better than you found it. Thanks for watching. See you next time. Bye now!

Looks like a fun trip! Isn't that Tarantino's cinema next to the Mexican restaurant? Area looks familiar from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood 😁
@@pushingfilm it was super fun! Yeah that is Tarantino’s theater!
Glad I finally got around to watching this. Great video bro, makes me want to try out some 8mm myself!
Thanks bro! Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah I think I might have to make 8mm a semi regular thing I incorporate into my videos!
Hey! Another midwestern photographer. Always exciting to find another photography UA-camr from my neck of the woods. The long exposure at 8:01 that Ethan took looks great with all the starbursts and light trails. I also love the photo of the beach/ferris wheel at 14:32 . Awesome video!
Let's go! super awesome to hear from another midwestern photographer! Thanks for watching!
Absolutely amazing photos fellas!
I was wondering when you'd get around to shooting some pro image.
Seems it really worked well out there.
Thank you so much! Yeah Pro Image is great!
Great stuff through and through. That cemetery is full of history, I made the trip to LA just to see Chris Cornell's. What an experience to get a tour of the projection room, that alone was worth the trip I bet.
Thanks for watching! There was lots of cool architecture in the cemetery! The tour was also a really awesome experience
Cool video! I’ve noticed you were using a light meter app. Would my to share which one? ✌️
@@guilhermecunha1671 yes it’s called light mate! I made a full video about it if you need to know more!
What is that metering app you use on your phone?
It’s an app called Lightmate! It works pretty well! I have a whole video about it on my channel!
2:29 Had I know you were in town all those months ago, I would have taken ya to East Los and Arleta for real Mexican food. Next time.
Ahhh that sounds great! I'll have to let you know next time I plan to be there.

No way?? I think that's so cool when I end up near where people who watch my video live just by pure happenstance!
@@ReimannPembroke yeah haha when you were getting those street tacos. Right on National blvd. and Sepulveda Blvd. Right by the Ross parking lot. haha I live bout 2 minute walk from there. Those tacos rock especially the Al Pastor.
@@eatenbyopium Nice! Yeah that food was amazing! We all got massive Al Pastor burritos!
