I've been on an Ektar 100 kick the last few months. I wish I could explain why the way pros like yourself can, but the colors I get on a sunny day are something else! Love all these films, thanks for another great vid man!
Fuji 400 xtra is/was my favourite film stock. Wildly available for the first year I was shooting and dirt cheap. It’s harder to find now but I love the colors it produces. I’ll miss it now that they have stopped shipping it here in my area.
I'm on my last 3 rolls of it. The latitude was inferior to Portra but as long as you avoided underexposing at all costs, it was an unbeatable value. I usually shot at 200 ISO and metered at the shadows. Did the trick. It's apparently available in limited quantity in Japan again but no word on if it's just freezer stock or when/if it's coming back stateside.
@@honkhonkler7732 yea I overexposed my first roll by shooting it at 200 and I had some ridiculous shots that came from it and it got me hooked. Gold used to always be sold out so I’d just buy the 3 packs of superia back then repeatedly and stock them in my freezer. It saddens me that I can’t get it anymore but I’ll at least have the chance to shoot it every now and then with what I have left
FP4 and HP5 for Black and White for me. I roll my own so it's also very economical. While I love Tri-X it's just gotten too expensive in recent years. For colour I'll mainly use Gold 200, Ektar 100 and Ektachrome 100 although to be honest for colour I mostly shoot digital as lab processing and scanning here in Australia is ridiculously expensive.
Glad to see The Darkroom is taking new customers; they weren’t for a bit. I’ve been sending my film to a lab in NJ popularized by another UA-camr but they only offer TIFFs. Who am I, Ansel Adams. Ilford Delta 100 for the win.
I've got most of these in my film 'fridge! Just got some Lomography Color '92 in the mail and can't wait to get a look at it. I also have some Vision3 250D and 50D adapted for 35mm from Midwest Film Co. and they can even develop it in-house so you can shoot stills of motion picture film. Cannot wait to see what that film stock looks like. Great vid, Jvpes!
Such a bummer why I don’t love Kodak Gold 200 when I was starting photography but now I notice myself grabbing it most of the time. Maybe because Portra 400 was way cheaper before. I also go for lomo 400 it’s also good. Delta 400 and HP5 on b&w films
When you shoot Lomo 800 @ 400ISO do you tell the lab so they develop it that way or do you just have them develop it normal? Thanks in advanced, big fan of your media!
I just developed a 21 year old roll of Gold 200. Despite its age and having lived post exposure in a sock drawer for all that time, it looked just as it would have if I got it developed in 2002. I feel Kodak Gold 200 is in my future too. Plus I just picked up a roll of CS800T and I’m looking forward to trying it out when next I do some night shots.
@@KingJvpes 400d Feels like it gets those gold and warm tones in the daytime super well. Hard to explain but 800T just doesn't hit as well as 400 during golden hour. I also feel that 400d has more potential with halation on things that aren't highlights. I shoot cars, and I've managed to get just a plain old steering wheel to give off this beautiful red glow. I definitely recommend it for daytime shooting instead of doing +1 stop 800T.
Color Plus 200 and Superia Xtra 400 are my favorites. Too bad you can't find either. 😢 In other news. My property taxes keep going up, so I stopped shooting film for now. 😂
Love your vids bro. Please do another digicam thrift hunt… love seeing how much you guys have available in your thrift stores. When I go looking in the uk you’re lucky to find 2 cameras in the whole store 😂
New comedy just dropped! My boy forgot shooting slide film...But I understand, it's hard to use for some people. No "vibes" and "over expose" a stop, and it really tells you how bad of a photographer you are, if you don't shoot it right. Color negative is really crutching a lot of these influencers.
What are your go to 35mm film stocks?! Love to hear your responses down below! Also new uploads every Wednesday & Saturday so be sure to subscribe🙏🏽

I LOVE Color Plus 200, but it's impossible to find these days
Lomo 400 and delta 400
Film photography just has a unique vibe that digital can’t replicate. I love the way it adds depth and soul to every shot!

It’s discontinued and replaced with fuji 400 (basically kodak ultramax repackaged)
@@Fmdk99i have a freezer full of it, im glad I stocked up on it before it disappeared

don't miss Ektar 100, especially medium and large format (35mm is awesome too, grain is unbelievably small)
I think an underrated film stock is Rollei Paul & Reihnhold
Comes in a pack of 2 and costs around 15$. And you can shoot it from 320 up to 1600 ISO
Nikon F gang, literally the Leica’s of SLR. Got an F2 just because I prefer that all mechanical but love the F3. 🔥🔥🔥
Same camera and same reason here 🙋 love my F2
@@nogifunk amazing family of cameras and if I ever upgrade all my lenses can move along with me.
Nikon F2, an insanely good camera. Love it with a 28mm, got a 3.5 next one is the voigtlander color skopar one 🫣
@@marienparisse1144 my 105 stays on all the time, next one I'm saving for is Voigtlander 58 1.4 🔥
This gets me fired up to shoot night photography with some Cinestill 800T - definitely going to do that for my channel before winter hits...
Cinestill 800t and gold 200 are the way to go 😎
Hahaha Cinestill is so you bro!
Great video! I've recently been using Cinestill BWXX as my go-to black and white film. I think it's pretty versatile
i've been exploring with different kind of filmstocks and this is a great video! loved that you included sample photos. keep up the good work
Twice! Do you remember your setup/settings when shooting that show? I got to see IVE recently and my photos from the concert were way underexposed.

how did you shoot concert photo? It was super low light, what was your settings? hehe thanku

Fuji Velvia, Lomo 800, Ferrania P30, Adox ColorMission 200, Rollei Retro 80S, Bergger Pancro 400, Ilford XP2

I think, if you have the opertunity, try out Wolfen NC 500. Its close to Lomo but its the old AGFA type from before the german east west devide.
man much improved audio thanks!!! im enjoying the content better now
Wolfen NC400 is my current favorite.
And CatLabs 320 for B&W
Hi, very nice video! Do you have any suggestions on overexposing the Kodak Gold 200? Thank you!
Every time I see that F3 I get jelly. Been trying to find a good one for ages.

Great video. Question the Portra 800 you mentioned that it gives a movie feel, Would that film stock do the same for medium format film?
New to film and very much love colorplus and for bw I enjoy Kentmere.
Colorplus is awesome! Can never go wrong with Kentmere :)
I pretty much only shoot Vision3 250D/500T for color and pushed HP5 for B&W
I personally love Lomography line given that film prices are going high crazy! A lot of films to choose from.
When you shoot Lomo 800 @ 400ISO do you tell the lab so they develop it that way or do you just have them develop it normal? Thanks in advanced, big fan of your media!
Totally gonna check out the Lomo-films, wow!
Great insight
Finding lomo 800 where I live is like finding a a needle in a haystack haha. Haven’t tried it yet but hopefully one day.

Gold 200 captured my childhood
I used to have the f3 back in 1988 great camera
Dude just hit us with a TWICE concert photo shot with Kodak Gold 200.
Cinestill 800T is great but I find I pick 400d in daylight. Cannot be beat at night!

Gold is literally my favorite 35mm film. Honestly I’m not that big of a fan of Portra unless it’s medium format
It really is gold 😏
TWICE ❤️
Casually showing pics of the Twice concert
To bad that some aren't DX coded

? Film stock or film stocks is very common terminology.
