Del: “Rodney, we’re going to Australia!”
Rodney: “Yeah well I’ll just see the end of this first hey?”
😂😂😂
The original plan was for Del to go to Australia, David Jason would leave the show, and Rodney and Mickey Pearce would take over the partnership. In the end David Jason decided not to leave, and the show carried on as normal. All I can say is thank God
Where you hear that ?
@@dean1coxy in a book about Only Fools
Absolutely true 👏👏
@@dean1coxy it’s true, David Jason confirmed it in an interview
The show would have died stone dead. Rodney and Mickey wouldn't have had the same chemistry
This was ment to be the last episode because David Jason said he didn’t want to star in the show anymore, but later changed his mind hence why del never went
They took a long break after this and John Sullivan really upped his game and wrote the best series after and continued with a high standard. Del had become irritating but that was played down more in the series that followed.
“Has it ever struck you that life is all memory, except for the one present moment that goes by you so quick you hardly catch it going?”― Tennessee Williams....................
He going 20,000 miles just to be a car cleaner? Love Uncle Albert 😂
They don’t make them like this anymore
'' So Rodney is travelling 20,000 miles to be a car cleaner? ''
Only he couldn't go. I would've liked to see at least an episode or two in Australia! :)
I like the part where Del tells Rodney that he's not going. Rodney is about to open the door of his room, he turns to Del and says "you know" , and Del says "I know" . They can't say 'I love you to each other. It gets me every time.
@@angelkotilainen - tho an Aussie set episode would appear upside-down when onscreen.
Ironically if he’d set up a prestige car cleaning business 25 years ago here in Sydney he would almost certainly be a millionaire 🤣
@Gerry S.S well the big ones around us are always busy with expensive cars, charge a fortune and seem to have an insane throughput.
So I’m guessing Yes. I did talk to an owner ages ago and he told me that here now with very expensive water recycling equipment mandatory for any new hand car washes it’s not even viable for competitors to startup.
@Gerry S.S Think about it Gerry you plonker.
Did you know the writer of Only Fools and Horses John Sullivan started his television career moving props for It Ain’t Half Hot Mum.
He wanted to be a writer so he got a job in the BBC, and through that he was able to give some scripts to Ronnie Barker who gave them a chance. Without Ronnie encouraging John, we wouldn't have Only Fools or his other works.
Mike from the Nags Head was on ' It ain't Half Hot Mum '.
John also wrote Citizen smith and Just good friends.
One of my favourite episodes..
Australia eh where the men are the men
" and so are the women "
Imagine if this came out today.
0:22 I love how Del boy sometimes uses the wrong glass for the right drink.
I find it difficult to believe David wanted to leave this show as now in his retirement it's all he talks about and in 2022 he wants to play Del Boy one more time. Talk about MIXED feelings lol
I kinda wish this was the last episode, woulda been great to kno del boy would have his life sorted out in Australia
What? Noooooo lol
What are all them rolls Royce and mercs coming off there ships
Rodney couldn't emigrate to Australia 🇦🇺 because of his criminal record for possession of Cannabis
Really?
Ironic really.
