in a way much more obviously because it only comes around once in 4 yrs and is chance to get a medal for your country. Ironically any of the top players come from countries that traditionally don't do well in the medal tally and therefore would mean much more to them the idea of getting a gold medal than GB. Yea but the rest in between matches is always different at the Olympics. A lot of the times you play the next day, or you may be playing doubles on the same day. In grandslam, you typically (unless something bizarre) get a day's rest and usually don't play doubles.
He’ll be the one to watch out for this year as he’s playing in a home Olympics. Look at how Andy was inspired in London 2012 and Juan Martin was inspired here.

A thought for Del Potro. He beat Djokovic for the bronze medal at the 2012 London Olympics ( Wimbledon ), and earned silver against Murray in the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Del Potro tried. But you often have to beat 3 out of the big 4 to win these big tournaments. He slayed 2 of them, but Unfortunately for him, he ran into a peak Andy Murray.

I would rather win an Olympic gold than a grand slam. A grand slam is the epitome of tennis, but a gold medal is an achievement for your whole country.
