I wish the British public appreciated this young man a little bit more. He gets pelters for allegedly lacking personality in an era when being a media whore with no talent gets more appreciation. I for one think he is brilliant and will probably not watch tennis for a while after he retires. I hope his son/daughter has half his talent so at least real tennis fans have something to look forward to in 20 years time. No pressure little one ;)

He now has a daughter, Sophia, and his wife is pregnant with a second child.

I think the efforts of Andre Agassi, Andy Murray, Rafa Nadal and Roger Federer mean that Olympic tennis is now taken more seriously, were as previously it was seen as a distraction, a burden or one tournament too many, now though its almost as big as the majors.

It'd be nice, however the big danger will be an inspired Kei Nishikori playing in a home Olympics in 2021.

Tesco Value Maybe a blessing for him as it gives him more time to get himself up to full fitness.

Just weeks before that match. Murray played Federer in the Wimbledon final, in what was at that point of his career his biggest match. He lost in similar conditions, in best of five, on centre court, and in front of a home crowd. The difference was Federer's form. Wimbledon Federer was ruthless, like the greatest player he is known to be, but Olympic Federer was haggard. Don't forget he played that epic semis against del Potro and won 19-17 in the third set, draining him of his energy.
The Olympic gold medal match was almost fairytale, a revenge match seemingly set up to happen. Despite the olympic win, the taste of the wimbledon trophy still eludes the brits. It was only until one year later did Murray finally redeemed his 2012 loss and claimed the 2013 title against Djokovic, capstoning his career. These storylines will be loss in generations to come, but it lives on in the well informed.

@@carolynwright3319 Hey that's the truth. Sometimes you people forget the context behind matches, while old school fans like me lived through them. You just got to accept what I said.
