Butterfly emerging (realtime, handheld HD) Gulf Fritillary V22532

- While snapping some still images of Gulf Fritillary butterfly early stages on the host plant, I happened upon one of them just starting to emerge from its chrysalis. Although it wasn't my best equipment, I was fortunate to have the little Canon full HD HS100 digital elph on hand to capture the 60-second event which I would normally have to wait for several hours to capture. Holding the camera steady was a challenge as I bent down low with the neighbor's cat rubbing against me, almost knocking me over trying to get some attention. Seems like everything is out to get you while doing wildlife photography! Enjoy the show =)

Incredibly beautiful footage!
good work. I too have hatched gulf's and I love the white panels on the wing undersides and body. they look iridescent when emerging. Also your old videos of purple hairstreak timelapses are my favorites
I'm happy you're enjoying my work - thanks a bunch for the view and comment! =)
I adore the little meow in the background around :28
