That move by the TR was either inexperience, and A/H move, or both. Good decision not to "force the pass" and end up an autobahn statistic. I think your point was made as you could here the TR winding out and you had to "back off" to keep from turning him into a hood ornament!
In notice, my music choice is not the best...OK next time I'll put AC/DC Again: the 512TR is a nice car ! really love the sound and the design Old Ferraris are nice compared to the recent ones (my favorite is F40) The C5 has a complete aftermarket exaust line and new air intake Soon there will some other mods (cam, heads, brakes, coil overs...) And...the ZR1 would do some circles around your GTR

These are actually slow cars compared to what you can buy today. They only reach 150 MPH and it took them a long time to get there. You can easily own a C5 vette for $15K.
@@johntate4638 No, they top at 175 bone stock Z06 owner here and mine tops at 175. 0-60 in 3.9 seconds 1/4mile 12.6seconds. By no means is that slow. I plan on putting headers, tune, intake, full exhaust, might be able to see high 11's.
The Testarossa will actually happily accelerate to about 285 , I reckon the Vette would be a little behind that in the end of stock . That 179 degree V12 is a lovely thing and it really can drive at 260 plus without issue .

I was stationed in Germany 04-06 ,on post was a craft shop were you could work on your own car,and i noticed this vette on post was in there hood off and about 5 guys working on it. They had the motor out and one guy was lifting a motor our of a crate. I talked the owner he was a warrant officer he just ordered a Lingenfelter 383 stroker motor for his vette. This was a 96 model manual transmission and I asked what happened he said he was tired of getting high beamed by porsches and BMWs and a few other cars he mentioned...he was trying to keep up with those porsches the motor was still good but, he needed more hp. I seen and heard the car after it was finished never talked to him after that,on how it done on the Autobahn. I can say at 156 in a BMW M3 and a 911 Turbo pulled along side of you and pulls out of sight....Dude that's Got Damn Fast.....

89 ZR1 did 0-60 in 4.1, and topped out at 180mph, a 1988 Corvette Calloway did 0-60 in 3.2, and topped out around 200, and then there was a 1988 sledgehammer Corvette look it up on UA-cam that topped out around 250mph. Yeah Testerossa are fast, and were but GM had some rockets too that smoked plenty of Ferraris in that era. And a 1991 GMC. Syclone truck destroyed a Ferrari in 0-60, and a quarter mile with a V6 Turbo, and car and driver published it back in 91.

A number of years ago I was at the silver state classic in Nevada and had the opportunity to see a TR at full song in the middle of 1 of the long straits ,absolutely beautiful sound. Later was to learn was doing( driver told me only time he ever maxed it out doing about 192/3). The Realy interesting thing was the bow wave of air kicking up small gravel,dust,extra just ahead of the car by about a foot. Later in the day a 71 Z/28 Camaro with the first 572 crate motor I had ever seen or even heard of came by same bow wave,( only this one was about 3') in fornt on the car also a great sound blowing thru twin 3" pipes and Morosoe spiral bullet mufflers. The biggest obstibcal to finishing for a lot of cars in the fast classes is fuel they run out of gas over the 92ish mile course BMW M6s won't make it in the 150 and up class, the 572 Camero had an extra 8gal fuel cell in the trunk.there were a couple of stroked Panteras that also ran dry. Jeff Smith who was the editor of Popular Hot Rodding Mag at the time was there in the worst areo car there worse (in my opinion than the 91 Chevy C-10 SS 454, he was in a 64 Chevelle with a 420 stroker SBC making a reported 525hp) and as he said GM and God never intended a barn door to go 155mph, he ended up coasting across the line everyone was concerned as the engine was silent. But, No smoke and no oil so it hadn't blown just dead out of gas. Oh and the 572 Camero sponsored by one of the brothels covered in Betty Boop stickers,vary cool only in America?!! What a country!!!

Of course the Ferrari can't go faster, the Corvette is hanging on his tail "Nascar Style". There is absolutely no reason to tailgate as it is the cause of at least 90% of all accidents, especially when you consider the Ferrari probably has better brakes??? You spend more time checking the distance between the your car and the car in back of you to make sure he does not hit you instead of watching the cars in front of you. And for the C5 fans, "The C5 has a complete aftermarket exaust line and new air intake" in first comment, try SL55 with MBH long tube headers, MBH X-pipe, Renntech exhaust, Renntech carbon fiber air intake, MBH crank pulley, and MBH revised ECU and let me know what you think
