Hey man i am in the market for a new chip but have an older hds 9 gen 2. Like the info in the video but is the contour + the most up to date card in your opinion and is there a better one

Hey Blake, I have a hds9 gen 2 and bought bought a cmap and it seemed like the map detail weren't as good with the cmap
I would have stayed with Cmap but they left out a MAJOR lake on their mapping.
Had to buy navionics.
1 year later they added a sd card map just for that lake. PITA.

I just got my Elite fs 9 installed today. I was praying around with in my shop today , not been in water yet. So it has cmap contour + but it looked to me like the river channels and creek beds are not marked maybe I'm wrong .my little Hook 5 map have them marked in blue. Thanks
I have a hook reveal with a navionics chip. Can i switch to c map contour plus by buying a new chip or do i have to buy a unit that comes with it built in
I used this and changed the game fishing from the yack.
Have you tried to update Navionics or try to run Live Chart and map it yourself?
I consider that Navionics is good as every other maps, it's just matter of having everything updated.
I have the most current navionics updates, they are definitely great maps! I enjoy looking at as many maps as possible to learn as much as I can! Nothing is better than mapping an area yourself, however as much as I travel to fish it is not realistic to do that.
What C-Map card or region are you using for Smith mountain lake? Thanks
For smith mountain I switch between a navionics card and the Cmap contour+ that’s on the HDS lives!

Is this compatible with HDS Gen 3 units?
I just bought a C-MAP Contour+ just to get the color contour. My Lowrance's HDS 9 purchased in June 2020 didn't have it loaded in the unit like it should have been. They also didn't honor me a new Map. Do I need to keep the card in the unit all of the time or can I load it on the HDS? Also, since I have three units, can use Ethernet to access them on the other units?

PS: They didn't include Toledo Bend on the list of lakes!
I am not sure if you can download them to the unit from the SD card, but maps can be shared through ethernet!

If you have an HDS live click the link in the description to get your Contour+ card for cheap, this allows you to do all the custom shading!

These maps are apparently only available for HDS live owners. If you don’t have an HDS Live I would try contacting Lowrance to find out if your graphs will read it!
