- For multiple weekends in September, the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad hosts Nickel Plate Road 765 for its annual Steam in the Valley event. After not running in 2020, 765 made a welcome return in 2021. 765 put on a great show, and the weather made for fantastic shots. Enjoy Nickel Plate Road 765 running on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad!
This video was filmed on Sunday, September 12 and Saturday, September 18, 2021.

Nickel Plate Road 765 did pretty good on the Cuyahoga Valley Express excursion. The first time I saw that locomotive was in the live action parts of Geotrax: My Day with Trains mostly as Chesapeake & Ohio 2765, also where locomotives like Canadian National 7312 (As Strasburg Railroad 31), Canadian Pacific 2860, Union Pacific 844, Union Pacific Challenger 3985, Louisville & Nashville 152, and other trains are shown in.
I agree that 765 performed well
Great shots Mark!
Thanks, Casey!
Great work, Mark!
Thank you, Tom!!
Well done, Mark! Id love to see the 765 some day!
Thanks, Joe! Hoping you can make it out next year!
Really nice job, Mark!
Thanks, Dan!
Nice video, Mark! It's always a treat to see 765 running at the CVSR. I wonder if she'll visit the Reading & Northern again someday.
Thanks, Ben! I agree with your thoughts. I hope it does
@@railfan6116 Ben said visit again which is the same as revisit
♥♥♥♥♥♥very very beautiful
Thank you!
You know, this will probably never happen, it's a what if scenario where the CVSR acquires NDEM or NH&I 3028 and restored her? Not only is she in surprisingly good shape for being outside, but she is a good locomotive for the line. She is powerful and fast enough for the line, plus she is one of the smallest and lightest northerns. She's in Pennsylvania so it wouldn't be too long to travel to Ohio.
It’d be better than letting it sit outside.
Awesome video! Are they crossing the Cuyahoga River at 3:28?
Thank you! No, that is called Furnace Run, just a small creek.
Ah ok, thanks.
@@railfan6116 you’re welcome!
Great video! Where was the spot at 9:12? Planning to head here for the next steam in the vally.
Thanks! That’s located near a big intersection just outside of Akron. The area is called Merriman
@@MPT_Productions Sweet! Which excursion was it doing when this shot was recorded?
@@cassscenicproductions8888 that was on the 3:00 PM. the last afternoon light gives the golden glow so shoot for one of those trips
@@MPT_Productions Got it. Thanks for all the help. Last question I promise lol. Was this the Akron Northside Station trip? Thanks again!
@@cassscenicproductions8888 yeah they only run this far on the Akron trips on Sunday. Saturdays only go to Indigo Lake
Maybe 765 can doublehead with either 425 or 2102 in the future.
Unlikely
