    As a "heavy brother" who recently lost 50 pounds, I can personally attest to what worked for me in getting me from 340 to 290 and counting in a few months. 2 hour walks near every day for at least the first month and high fat carniovore diet works wonders. I don't care what kind of diet works for you, do what works for you, but carnivore worked for me because it completely cut out all unhealthy processed foods, sugar, and carbs and made my options super limited to took out all thinking so even a complete dumby can follow it. Eggs, bacon, beef, butter, cheese, water. That's it. That's all you eat/drink for 2-3 months and walking 2 hours every other day and start lifting. Try to walk first thing in the morning, skip breakfast and jus eat lunch and dinner, eat as much as you want to feel sasiated for both meals. My doctor did not condone my diet but after a few months of blood tests to monitor my health she said she has never seen such a drastic 3 month transformation in my numbers. glucose levels, bloodpressure all kinds of other bad shit, all down. You arne't going to die and you won't perminatly fuck your health trying this for a few months. It worked for me, may work for you. Get professional advice if you are seriously obese or in poor health. I've still got a lot of work to do to keep shedding pounds but if I can do it, you can too. Best of luck brothers and sisters, you've got this.

      walking is legit the best thing to do, easy to stick to it, doesn't fuck your body and it does work quite well for losing weight. i don't know about the carnivore thing tho D: it only works for you for now because you were too heavy and it reduced the amount of things available to eat, the tests will also look good because u are losing weight but long term i'd say that's a no no. you will be much better if u count how many calories u need to eat to be in a small deficit then just make a meal plan for yourself, with like 40% protein 40% carbs and 20% fats. it's not that much different than the carnivore if you think about it, you can eat chicken and eggs but u just add some veggies and rice, this way you will feel happier, make it easier to stick to and u won't be shitting water every time you go for a number two xD

      @@metalface_villain Yeah, definitely not looking at this diet as a long-term solution, and to clarify, I don't recommend doing that either; just sharing what has been working for me and maybe be motivating for someone else who's also at the end of their rope. That being said, I'll definitely be moving towards a more balanced diet soon, but I'm first going to stick it out a little while longer... And yeah, the watery shits the first few weeks were no joke, haha.

    i think the most important skill is being able to estimate calories by eye and know the rough calorie count for certain items, for instance once you know how many cals are in a can of non-diet soda youll be less inclined to eat it. Likewise once you realise how calorie dense oreos are you can eat them in more moderation. And once you realise how many calories are in fruit you might decide to reach for them as a snack instead of unhealthier options. Im in a caloric defecit atm and I think of my daily caloric intake like a budget where I want to spend on things that fill me up, meanwhile Ill come up with creative ways to make the food more enjoyable.

    FYI Panera Bread salads actually have a normal amount of calories (like 500-800 for the full portion) and are super tasty. There's a Panera right outside the gym I go to so I normally just get the Apple Fuji with avocado as extra and that's perfect.

    i'm on track for a six pack within 2 months, when I started about 18 months ago I would be considered fat / overweight. For the last part of my weight loss goal, the home stretch, diet became very difficult until I started doing a special method I thought of. I live alone, I emptied my cupboards and fridge, every day I go to the gym, workout, then buy my food for the day which is healthy food, high veg, high protein, exactly 1600 cal. When i'm craving food in the evening, there is no chance i'll fail because my cupboards are empty. Having a system that eliminates failure has been the biggest game changer. Of course I could just cave in completely and run to a convenience store to buy chips, but I have enough will power to prevent that. It's having food in the cupboard, instantly accessible that was the hard part for me. There's no hack to make it easy, but this system definitely makes it easier. Strict meal prepping is also good, but I have had moments of weakness and would eat bits from tomorrows meals if I could.

    For dressing your salad, my go to is just salt, pepper and lemon juice, that's it, if you have space in your macros for more fat, add a light drizzle of extra virgin olive oil or any oil of your choice.

      @ezrabrownstein3237 11 місяців тому +2

      Dude, put some oregano and a bit of garlic powder in. It's amazing. Also instead of olive oil you could add in some parmesan cheese (the shredded kind not the powder). Has a similar effect and not as calorie dense.

    • @jontaro5200
      @jontaro5200 11 місяців тому

      Yeah absolutely, herbs, spices etc, things that contain 0.1 kcals. I said olive oil because it's more beneficial to your health until I looked into parmasen and found out that it has medium and short chain fatty acids, meaning if you were to workout after a meal and you had parmasen in your salad, it will be used immediately as energy. But like I said if these additions of fat sources can fit your macros then by all means.

    Hes 100% right about salads. Getting a salad with high fat dressing, bacon, a bunch of meat and eggs is probably worse for you then other things on the menu cus you'll end up eating way more calories because it feels healthy and not filling. A cobb or chefs salad is NOT healthy.

    If you're really concerned about fat then you can go for chicken breast, just make sure to brine your chicken 1 hr before cooking, brining will help retain the moisture in meat as it cooks. 1 tablespoon of salt for every cup of water and submerge the chicken in it, don't do it over night it fucks with the texture. In terms of seasoning you won't need salt because the brine has already salted your chicken, just any herbs or spices you like, try a variety of premix spice blends or go plain if you're a savage.

    12:50 I think this is a critical point that often is missed. It's okay to feel hunger pangs, it's normal. The easiest way to mitigate them is to be busy doing something, not sitting at your computer or tv. I sit at my PC a lot, when I get hungry, I first get up and do chores around the house, all the annoying stuff I don't want to. If an hour goes by, typically I'm not that hungry anymore, and I'd rather go back to my PC than get food. What I need to start doing is exercising

      The incline activates more of your abs, glutes, hamstrings etc. also you end up burning more calories! Think about it, going up the stairs is much harder than walking down a flat hallway, you’re using more muscles and energy going up stairs or up an incline. Hope this helps!

    If you are overweight the best advise from me is to find a supportive buddy (or get a dog) and go out for a walk 30m-60m a day. Every 10minutes you should be comfortably hitting 1k steps. If you have anxiety or depression and you find yourself unable to even hit 30minutes, lower it to 10 then do it 3x a day. If you dont like to go outside, just pace inside your room.
    Usually the reasoning you will have for yourself is your brain trying to play the min max perfectionist card at that point, just keep lowering the bar until you can pick up the habit consistently. Sounds laughable but even 1 minutes a day beats 0. Once you do 1 you will find yourself thinking this aint so bad and you do 2 etc.

      The gym helps you be in a different mind state that makes it easier to exercise because you spend resources to be in it, you can buy cheap new clothes to exercise at home and be in the mindset that if you wear the clothes you must exercise and then just put them on.
      Just use youtube to search "calisthenics at home"

    Wendy's avocado chicken salad - 560 Cal, 39g Fat(11g Saturated, 0g Trans Fat), 40g Protein, 6g Fiber
    Double Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger - 560 Cal, 34g Fat(13g Saturated, 1.5g Trans Fat), 29g Protein, 1g Fiber
    So the salad has more healthy fats, vegetables, more protein and more fiber -- all of which are great for your health. The burger has trans fats, which are bad for your health, more saturated fats, less protein and no fiber.
    In addition, the salad contains vegetables - which contain more micronutrients and polyphenols which are also beneficial to your health.
    The salad is also more satiating per calorie.

    • @SeyidAr

      Potatoes, chicken and any type pf vegetables still beats the crap out of this shitty salad. 40g of fat per 560 cals is wild. Only 6g of fiber per 560 cals for a salad is horrendous. If you ate 4 of those, you'd get 2240 cals and only 24g of fiber. Daily recommendation is about 30g. And that's conservative.

      Discouraging people from eating a salad is actually very stupid, because while it may not be the most optimal health option ever, it's wayyy better than eating a burger.
      Most people are not sitting at home eating potatoes, chicken breast and brocolli. And most people who do that, do it for like 5 months before they get tired and binge eat.
