i have been listening to some old episodes this past week and today unknowingly while talking the friend i said 'abhi mai bhagesh' and he was like what are you talking about, and i realised how much influence you guys have on me it literally feels like you guys are my friends at this point and we're chilling for 1:16:43 hour it honestly feels so warm listening to you guys🥰 thank you for making our tuesdays amazing ❣️
Omg, this is the same thing that's been happening with me as well! Like everyone around me is just puzzled whenever I use TISS language/jokes in a normal conversation

My parents used to think Tuition is a daycare just so they do be their own after work and anything I learn was a bonus. So I've been in tuitions since 5th till 12th.

Bawa is right.. when I first went to Monterey beach/pacific ocean in California, the cold ocean concept hit me for the first time. You know it in your head that your Indian oceans are warm but that ocean is going to be cold, but feeling "cold ocean" for the first time was mesmerising experience.

I listened to this podcast from Japan yesterday and came here to just comment. 😬 I can confirm everything cowtuk mentioned.
Tuitions were the WORST part of my student life. I simply couldn’t believe how much money my hard working middle class parents were willing to pay to make sure I’m in the rat race and being forced to go to these classes despite my begging them not to send me just made me really bitter towards Maths primarily. Like, the physics and bio teachers were good so I enjoyed that but Maths ka ek toh class subah 5:30 baje rakh ke aap bachhon ki zindagi barbaad kyun kar rahe ho??!? What’s worse than forcing Math down a kid’s throat? Forcing it down at 5:30 in the morning. Saala pehle 10th ka tuition. Then 12th ke liye 11th se shuru karo. Then CET ka alag se tuition. Abbey ek hi toh jaan hai meri! Kitni baar logey??! The BEST part is, literally NONE OF THAT MATTERED, because I’m now working on my PhD dissertation at an R-1 university without having paid a dime of my own money, and am a recognized expert in my fields. No thanks to those awful tuitions.

For the Tuitions topic, I was in Home Tuitions, where the Teacher used to come to MY home to teach ME, right from 1st Standard.
I had a drawing teacher like that. Still got only a B in the Elementary/Intermediate exams.

Just like with Bawa, I did not know about tuitions and coaching classes coz I was in a boarding school. When I entered 11th, all my classmates would talk about how much better their coaching classes education is. At some point, I started asking about getting into those classes myself. I was surprised to learn that my college professors owned a lot of the coaching classes in the area and they spent more time teaching in their classes lol.

No shame in admitting but I too have experienced the Mariko Aoki phenomenon all my life. To clear Varun's confusion this ain't just a Japanese thing, I was born and brought up in UAE & I thought I too was the only one feeling it. I've read someone else mention in the comments that they too feel it except they doze off when they read a book, that's another thing common with me....can't get past a page. P.S Neville looks TOO CUTE

7:00 I WAS BORN IN 2004 AND MY BATCH STARTED GOING TO TUTION SINCE PRESCHOOL
So my mom takes Hindi tuitions and honestly, pandemic just made her business grow. She now teaches kids who are US and UK while also conducting home tuitions. And given the state of how languages are taught more students are opting for such tuitions. She teaches kids who are as young as 8-9 till grade 10.

Talking about tutions, I'm mostly in one when you guys drop an episode (sometimes the lives as well) and the minute my teachers end the call, I just open UA-cam and relax while watching the episode and it just takes my mind off of 10th grade maths and science which is actually quite shitty in my experience even though I got great teachers
When I was in 10th grade (which was more than 12years ago), trigonometry and algebra was my second and third favorite things in life :)
