I just got this last week pretty amazing for the price,Bluetooth and a color screen and a robust body, the small form factor is incredibly cool..Amazing little thing! You can unlock it by holding the Any TD H3 ~ Radio Off hold down Transmit & * buttons, while holding them down turn radio ON.... You'll see 1. 2. 3. options.... Normal mode is Open. 😊
Go into the menu turn on 200tx and its a tri-bander. Turn on while holding push to talk and * then you can choose HAM, GMRS, or Regular, the last one opens the radio up but beware if you have memories saved using this feature will reset all to factory. I bricked mine with a bad rom and doing this brought me back, so I didn't mind lost memory's'.
Right, and it's probably under part 15 anyway. So, not "officially" a ham radio. Still in all, on high power it was perfect, and low power was in microwatts over the part 97 threshold. For $30 - it's a winner.
Looks pretty good to me. I ordered one the other day. Glad to see a clean Chinese HT. Third order harmonics are great. I tested one Chinese HT and the third order harmonic was only down 20 db. FAIL and yet still being sold in the US. WHY? Barry, KU3X
Thank you for this review. I’ve bought one and plan to buy another. Have you tried programming using CHIRP software? I’m going to try that today when I get a break at work, I have some CHIRP files for my area that I have loaded into my Baofeng UV-5 rigs and would like to put into the Tidradio too.
I have not - I only have a few things I ever put in HT's generally. It will program thru Chirp (AFAIK), as well as the online site (vid coming out for that)
I think we should only use clean radios. But if my math is correct, 16.02 dBm is only a difference of 0.03994474 of a watt. 1dBm difference is 0.001259 of a watt (source: RapidTables). I normally avoid math whenever possible, so feel free to let me know if I got that wrong.
I'm not gonna second guess your math, but the difference is soooo negligible to not matter. I think it was about 40-ish microwatts (on low power). As I mentioned, this is teeny-tiny. Home wifi is 25 milliwatts, and it barely covers a modest sized house.
Yep…. Remember the effect of the antenna too, most of these antennas have a dreadful response around the first 2M harmonic. If the SWR is 10:1 as a reasonable expectation that’s a whole chunk never being radiated.
I've had two of them and returned them back to Amazon. Great radio in design, but lack of quality control and poor firmware on the radio makes it not worth having.

Clean as a whistle! Nice work Jim!
It's my favorite budget Chinese radio. The FCC ID is for its bluetooth capability, not it signal purity. But it tests clean for me.

Right? Not like any of the vendors would actually check the products, or the FCC/FTC enforce any of their own regulations.
JIMMY BOY, FREE STUFF 😂👋
Great video, looks like a cool radio!
I thought for the cost/value proposition, it's definitely a winner. Budget radios have come a long way, and the build quality is solid.

Is there a difference between this and the h3 pro?
Support card is conveniently wallet sized 😀
There is a third party firmware., it is a triband radio. Well it's a 5 band radio. 200 400 and 500 mhz along with 2 and 70.

"It comes in a box".....but did it come with a diet Dr.Pepper?
Sadly, no! I have to provide them.

What problems did you have? I haven't had any in the two weeks I've been using it.
Man, reading the third party agreement for ODMaster app for my android, feels like I am giving up my rights as a US citizen to the CCP.
