Having more types of aircraft is not a bad thing, it depends on the needs of your air force and the suitability of maintaining them. Pakistan has a small Air Force and Pakistan's budget is also small, so this can be a big thing for the Pakistani Air Force. Pakistan's closest friend China has the largest variety of aircraft like JH-7, J-7, J-8, J-10, J-11, J-15, J-16, Su-27, Su-30, Su-35, J-20 etc. JF-17 may be the best fighter jet for Pakistan but for other big air forces it is just an ordinary jet for them.
China have the largest fleet but they are aslo replacing old ones and and making more of the same categories like j20,j16,j10 and j15 is a navy fighter jet so all other will be retired one by one
Well maintaining different type of aircrafts are must for countries that are bigger in Size. Like see USA, China, India, Russia. For smaller countires you can perform all missions with same aircraft as you won't face range anxeity as you have to cover a small boundry. In India if you need to strike deep in Indian Ocean you will require SU-30 & Rafale. To maintain patrolling at high altitude airbases u require Medium category aircrafts. And for general patrolling and interception role u do require small aircrafts like Tejas n Mig 21 to maintain cost effectiveness and effieincy both.

Same for Pak also mirage3, mirage 5, j6 ,jf 17( 3 blocks), j-10 , f16( two block ) and you never mentioned about Pakistan. In this way Pak should have more problems compared to India.

Pakistan, Turkey and Jordan should have coordinated before ordering F-16s. Pakistan opted for P & W F100 engines but Turkey opted for GE F110 engines and thus Turkey cant help us in time of sanctions or so. Fortunately Jordan uses F100 engines and thats why Pakistan purchased from F-16s from Jordan. For Greece, just a few years ago, it was in deep economic crisis and even then it is spending colossal amounts on defence and air force. Greek Block 30 also seem to be using F110 engine.
