I'm 69 and never edited my first video. I feel this video has me ready to go. Thanks Ricky 👩🏻🦼🔥💃🕺🎸🐈⬛💥🙏
Nice
This has been one of the best beginner videos for FCP that I have come across. Thank You!
Agreed!
I agree!
Great video, very straight forward and easy to understand. I'm just an old man who's creatively and technically challenged, and even I was able to follow along and was cobbling together my first video within just a few minutes. Thanks for sharing.
I’ve used Final Cut for years to make short videos for non-profits I believed in for years (for free). Because I’ve decided to get back into filmmaking, I searched online to find out what Final Cut looks like these days.
This one is excellent. It covers just enough detail and is at the same time, just simple enough to make clear how the app now works and how I can use it. It employs the best teaching techniques (and I was once a teacher) and the best presentation techniques (and I was a technical writer and documentation leader for a
major software company) so I know of what I speak. This is is one of the best online tutorials I’ve ever seen. Kudos!
Love this video... very helpful, direct and gets the beginner going full steam ahead instead of stumbling at half cooked explanations.
Thank you so much Vince! This has reduced my learning curve and saved me a lot of time. You make very helpful tutorials. I subscribed. All the best!
You have a gift for presenting, you enunciate very well and move at a slower pace so that people can ABSORB what you are teaching. Thanks SO much for this. Far superior to any of the others I have seen. Subscribed😁👍
This was a phenomenal tutorial. I’m switching over to this from another software and this was extremely helpful! Thank you!
Great to hear!
I've literally been dreading video editing for years using premiere pro... Now I see what I've been missing. Thanks for this!
Seriously, I have Premier and it's a lot....I'm gonna try FC instead...
and it's even worse in 2023
Awesome, I’ve really learnt something. Keep up the good work and I’m looking forward to learn more Final Cut Pro tutorials from you bro. Cheers 🥂
Hi Vince! Thank you for this video, it was so clear and helpful for a beginner. It made me sure that final cut pro was the app that I needed right now, appreciate the hard work :)
Thank you so much for this very informative beginner tutorial. I was getting tired of of fighting with basic/free video editing software that I wanted to have a tool that is full featured. With a full featured software of course brings with it a hefty learning curve, this video will help me a lot to get started. 🙏
Great tutorial, very detailed at least what I needed to know! Thank you this was what set me up!
By far the best beginner's tutorial I've seen yet! Awesome video man, looking forward to the other videos you have on Final Cut Pro. You've earned my subscription! :D
Dude, well done. Appreciate this a lot and it instantly made me so much more comfortable with Final Cut, well done bro, very inspiring honestly haha
I had used FCP decades ago and pretty much forgot a lot about the interface, so thank you for introducing it back to me in a well-paced fashion. I've seen a number of FCP tutorial and your demeanor and explanations work best for me. I'm a subscriber. Much success in your life.
100% agree with you
Thank you! Awesome video so clear and well explained ❤
Thank you SO much! This motivated me so much to use this for my 10 minute movie. Glad to know that colour grading is possible with Final Cut. This video was awesome, I left a like and a sub. Keep it up!
Great tutorial!! Just inspiration needed.
I really appreciate how clear yet direct this video was. Thank you
Man, such a useful tutorial. Thanks a lot Vince...
really good it's going to save me money on external editors since I've been using Imovie for years this is a nice upgrade. I like that I can upload elements from Envato or whoever. You made it simple. Thanks
Your tutorial is great and easy to follow, thanks man!
You made the whole FCPX process so simple to me and I just subscribed to your channel.
Nice tutorial! I come from After Effects and Premiere Pro and wow! It's incredible how easy Final Cut makes editing for us. Definitely will start using it now.
Same here haha! I've been trying to learn Premiere Pro since I have it free through my school and still struggling with basic tasks. Then I see this and I realize things actually... make sense??
Excellent, just the right pace, clear voice recording.
GREAT VID. tysm!
This is very helpful! super easy to follow and well explained.
Great simple to follow video. I've used Final Cut for a few years but only make 1 or 2 videos per year so every time I open the software I need to remember how to use it. It's painful but this made it a lot easier.
Pretty crisp! Thanks Vince!
Thank you for this video! I was using iMovie for my first UA-cam video but I didn't love the limited text options so I downloaded Final Cut Pro with the 90-day trial. This tutorial is just what I needed🔥
Very helpful. Thank you. I have done video editing informally for years on the Windows platform. And it was painful and laggy. I just purchased a MacBook Pro M2 and will definitely give Final Cut Pro a try. Your video helped to convince me how intuitive, yet versatile FCP is, especially on the Mac (which I love).
You my friend, are an excellent teacher! 20 mins in and i already feel like i know most of what i needed to learn!
This was great! Thank you!
Super helpful, thanks Vince!

Thank you so much, I haven’t purchased fcpx as yet, but your tutorial has helped me to make up my mind. I’m a total novice to video editing, have been using a very basic app, Videorama for way too long and need to up my game as my interest in video sharing is growing. You made it all look so easy. I know I will struggle at first, but I think I’ll be happy with my investment in the long run. Thank you again, buddy. 👊🏾👊🏾

Excellent overview ,thanks so much !!!!

Awesome video! In the first minute, you covered the main reason for searching for "final cut pro basics", cuz what the hell is Events, what's the difference from Projects, and how to work with it! I've worked with DaVinci Resolve and Premiere some years ago, and coming back to this area I felt a big noob opening the Final Cut for the 1st time! Thank you, I subscribed to go deeper in Final Cut Pro!
Greetings from Portugal. You left me the will to revisit Madeira!
Very helpful tutorial and a beautiful video as well. That's would be great if you could share how to draw and embed infographics like charts, graphs, maps ... (if any) in Final Cut Pro. Thanks.

I am so glad to have this perfect video, anybody can easily understand ,thank you so much for this valuable video.
Thank you so much! Great to understand the basics now, this has been very helpful : )
Thank you this is very thorough and I understand the process. This made my day...
Great video! Thank you!!
This video was ideal! Easy to follow, straight to the point, perfect little FCPX tutorial.
Question... When you change the speed of a clip like you showed here, does that have any effect on the timeline?
For example, if I've set the project up as 4k25fps, and my footage is in 25fps, what will the speeding up or slowing down do?
I think it'd be allrght if it was exactly doubled, as 50fps would fit on the 25fps timeline?
But if you dragged clips to random percentages of the original speed, like shown here, what would that do and how would that affect the timeline overall? (Hope that makes sense?)
Are you planning on doing any more FCPX videos?
You mentioned a more in depth tutorial on colouring perhaps?
Also, do you know what is the Apple programme named Motion?
Is it Apple's version of After Effects (Like if FCPX is Apple's Premiere?)
I have tried repeatedly but just don't get on with Premiere, & I am seemingly really enjoying FCPX so far, so I think Motion could be of interest going forward if I'm correct in thinking what it is.
Cheers man.
Really good & helpful little intro tutorial...
Subbed! ;)
