This is the best board review I have ever seen. so much so I am buying one.I am 6' 198 pounds and a solid intermediate. Knee to head height plus on beach and point. 6'board ?
Here is a good Volume guide for your weight at different skill levels. Pro/Expert = 32-34L Advanced = 34-36L Intermediate = 37-39L You can use these numbers to help pull the trigger on a stock board. The HH is a good paddler and easy to shred for a performance board. I say get the stock size that has similar volume to your favorite daily driver or HPSB. Cheers
looks good but looks a bit flicky in some turns, my personal preference would be with a squash tail and a little extra flip in the end to compensate for speed and hold..
Ok, so curious about round pin / thumb tail and twin plus trailer. In theory seems like fin choice that would loosen but then round pin offers hold? Does it loosen in areas you want but hold in punchy conditions?
Once again a great review which makes the purchase decision even more difficult :-) Which board do you think is more versatile in different wave heights and also works in choppy waves? I have a Future Flex and find it difficult to control in 5+ and / or choppy waves. Rusty Deuce, Lost RNF, Phantom, Holy Hypto?
My first choice would be the Rusty Deuce in PU/Poly for windy conditions. My second choice is the 96 in PU/Poly. If you have n ver surfed a pure twin fin before and you get the Deuce…, make sure you get the right twin fin template. My HP Twins go mental in that board. They also go good in the 96
The HH offers more performance in the pocket compared to both of those boards. The HH offers excellent pivot, drive, and maneuverability. Pretty shocked on how good the HH performs
My advice is try before you buy...take a demo board out. Its not for everyone. Great paddler but I found the rail line sometimes catchey when doing a forehand reo. Maybe that was just me....? I would recommend riding it as short as possible to your volume liking.
Board looks real good! I thought usually round/pin tail makes a board slow in not so punchy conditions, this board looks fast under your feet though. Any thoughts on this?
Hey legend AM's went real good!! thanks for the tip!! Ive been thinking about trying the 2+1 .. question is: MR's or Aipa's? Thhanks in advance legend!!!
How would one of these hold up in double over head + short slabing left point 🤔 the wave has a serious rip running through the take off against the rocks. Looking for something that paddles well but can still handle the hollowness. It's a tricky little wave and a lot of the step ups don't have the volume/paddle power for the rip or are too long by the time you get the right volume. Need volume to get into them and not every wave is a barrell but steep pocket... Any recommendations? Been thinking about a webster wacco but seen this.
I've even considered the original hypto crypto given I had been on a 6ft3" Bobby Quad (although i snapped it the other day out there). I'm 6ft1 107kg with size 14 feet haha

Great review. I currently have the untitled stock 5'9 30.5 litres, which is one of the best boards ive ridden in 1-4 ft. But after something for 3-6ft when theres more push as the untiled gets a bit skatey in bigger waves. Thinking the Holey Hypto with AM2 fins for carving. In 6'2 84 kgs advanced surfer. Id usually go 6'0 for a performance board. But 32.5 L might be a bit much. So thinking 5'11. How do you find it surfs? Should i keep it closer to 30L or just go the 6'0.

Hi Noel, I’m an intermediate surfer looking at getting the HH as my “good wave” board (though I know you’re calling it a daily driver). Question on how FutureFlex floats…I currently ride an epoxy 6’3 at 37.8 liters and that works well for me. However the HH stock dim 6’3 is only 36.4 L while the stock 6’4 is 37.75 L. Does FutureFlex float you higher in the water? In other words, if I get the 6’3 at 36.4 L will it feel closer to a 37-38 L or should I just go with the 6’4 37.75 L closest to my normal volume. My only concern is if that inch longer will feel like too much board in the pocket.

Hey Noel, good reviews, but just a question how do you compare this for Firewire Dominator 2? what attributes that each would have advantages in pool or qny local breaks with waist to chest to overhead high?? hope you could answer this🙏🏻
The HH seems to pivot faster and with a raked set of fins it will also offer more hold and drive through turns in overhead waves compared to the D2. The D2 has more glide and carries more down the line speed. The D2 will out perform the HH in 1-4’ surf as a small wave performance board with a 2+1 fin set up. However the HH will out perform the D2 in 4-6’+ surf due to its high performance outline and round pin tail. For the pool…. I think the D2 can be ridden shorter when comparing stock dims to HH. For my size the D2 is 5’4” and the HH is 5’6” for pool shredding. Both go good in the pool for me…
@surfnshow nice review, seems like you really liked the holy hypto.
