- Upset with high cost of living, crime and pollution, Californians are leaving the state in droves. In the years from 2020 to 2022, the population dwindled by more than 500 thousand people. Additionally, new footage from the Titanic wreckage has been released.

You know it's bad, when the state threatens to tax companies who want to leave for another state.
That's extortion.
All tax is extortion
That and the failure of the gubernatorial recall triggered my exodus.
Even worse extortion is how the CA FTB is still insisting that business that had to permanently close like my own still pay FTB every year since even though we all filed for complete Dissolution of business in 2020. They act like complete mob bosses when you attempt to have civil conversations with them about it too! We're talking thousands of dollars in proactive taxes for zero customers/ zero business on dissolve businesses that weren't even open from the 2020 until now just to legally reopen!!! What sense does that make?
On the CA FTB website, there are taco-truck street vendors that the FTB claims owe more than $500,000,000 in back taxes! As if they'll ever make that kinda money selling tacos!
My apartment rent increased $1100 to $2000 in two years. Adios! Also saw my car registration go from $120 to $200.
Registration is only $30 in Pennsylvania or Maryland. Rent is $900
Who wants to be taxed to death while living in the homeless capital of the world?
Our plan is finally working! Soon, just the rich and homeless will be here. Yaaay
That's the point , keeping high and upper middle class in this state
A bunch of people. /

Obviously the people who don’t pay taxes ! That is the problem . There are way , way too many people, adults who work ….that pay nothing . People who get $5k deducted from their checks every year ….yet claim kids and get paid back $8000 in refunds are not taxpayers .
It’s dropping even more I’m moving out too
Hopefully you get out sooner rather than later. Escape.

I'm not particularly conservative, but you can't ignore this. Even if liberal policies fit your views, it's not working. Between taxes, state of homelessness, etc. You need to come up with another strategy
@PATRIOTCODE5 I would be interested to see what conservative policies would do in CA. They are more fiscally responsible. You just have your bucket of conservatives who take it too far. There's a difference between being practical and showing tough love vs being a bigoted ahole. Unfortunately, there is a lot of the latter out there. I have started voting Republican though, as well. I just trust them more to safely take care of our cities and have an economy where you're not paying half your income towards taxes.
@@sparklesparklesparkle6318 In what regard? I'm asking genuinely. I'm still evolving as a young adult in my political viewpoints. Policies aside, I just think at this point there needs to be tough love for homeless vs showing kindness (unfortunately). Legally allowing them to set up tents was a massive mistake. I think there needs to be an increased emphasis on policing the cities. In terms of the taxes...I know we need to pay up in order to maintain what we have at our disposal. A lot of ppl blindly b'tch, but have no idea what it is going towards. That being said.. 50% of your income takes it to that threshold where people just can't afford to live in the state any longer. And then you consequently get the ripple-effect of that. Particularly, with the boom in work-from-home jobs that don't lock you down to a physical location. COVID policies too really blew me away. That was actually when my opinion started to evolve. The common sense approach imo from the on-set was to be like hey..this is what we know so far, our studies are showing masks and social distancing helps stop the spread, we recommend isolating if you have the option to...but leave it at that. Businesses would still lost a lot of $ because everyone would have been freaked out. But they wouldn't have been literally forced to close their doors with no financial safety net. I know many people struggling with depression, overdosing, and some committing suicide as a result of the policies. The psychological impact should have been a part of the equation. We were already having an increased spike in mental health problems, mass shootings, etc. prior to COVID and this just amplified the issue tenfold. Just my thoughts overall from the outside looking in.
@@brooksorlando4881sometimes you have to vote right in order to bring the left back to the center. Neither party is particularly appealing, but when they stray so far from center it isn’t good for anyone except the lawmakers. This is why party over country is tearing our country apart right now. He definitely put emphasis on crime in urban areas. Yet they don't tell you how the cartel is in the rural areas with grow farms and terrorizing those residents and ppl coming up missing.
Low risk for cartels. If the US doesn’t enforce the law, it is easier to illegally immigrate, set up their operations in the United States, remove the risk of being caught going over the border, they get guns easier since they are legal, police hate their job since they are not respected, are corrupt, not enough pay.
Plus they are don’t need to worry about state borders, unlike law enforcement. They have free reign to conduct criminal activity. Doesn’t help that the United States police actually sell weapons to the cartels and screen for them. Which is understandable since the police are constantly getting cuts, see citizens as combatants, citizens don’t trust police, police don’t earn enough to deal with the amount of nonsense and disgusting behaviour, etc.
Yet the United States needs illegal immigrants since so much essential intensive labour doesn’t pay enough to earn a home or survive. So citizens can’t cover that sector of the job market. Which is worse that slave labour, at least sales got fed, housed, clothed. People can’t afford that on minimum wage. So you trade labourers for cartels…United States sees that as an acceptable trade. Issue is the United States erodes its own country day by day with small illogical decisions.
