I confirmed with some judges, Kessig Cagebreakers will work with Voja, if you stack the triggers for the Cagebreakers to trigger first, then Voja triggers
Yep. Because you already control at least 1 wolf, Voja will trigger. Then on resolution it checks again to see how many wolves you have. Because we’re smart Magic players, we let the cagebreakers let the wolves out before we resolve Voja, and Voja will see lots!
You don't even need one wolf. Voja's trigger is when he attacks. Nothing gets checked until resolution. It would have to say "if you control one or more wolves....." But it doesn't. No "if" means it always triggers. And then everything else is on resolution. (Targets get chosen when you put it on the stack but this doesn't target).
I instantly fell in love with this commander because I liked the idea of combining 2 different tribes, but after reading it well and brewing a deck and some goldfishing. I think it is just too pushed. I think it's too much for my playgroup :(
Yup my thoughts exactly, it’s ridiculously powerful. It would be a once per night type of deck, and I don’t like to have too many of those cause I like playing my decks 😂
@@levisdeckbox I literally grabbed a friend who hadn't seen the spoiler and pitched him a "nerfed" version of the card to see what he thought and the one I pitched was a 3/3, no keywords, buffed only 1 target creature and only counted each other wolf. He told me it sounded like a really cool and fairly powerful commander, imagine his shock when I showed him the actual card
I love wolves but read the card the first time and already knew it was going to be really good. This would be a deck if I built that I’d play 1-2 times and shelf before going back to something else. Also already have 2 naya decks this past year. Saving $ for another deck instead in the future.
I saw this commander and built it right away. While I know you said you don’t want to add the token doublers because if their price I highly recommend branching evolution
I built this deck shapeshifter tribal with a sprinkle of elves (mostly mana dorks) and its really powerful. If you have a good field u can easily one shot people by turn 5
Yeah I feel like if you focus on the elves it’s definitely entering a really powerful level that some tables just won’t be able to deal with, like mine haha
Thank you for responding to comments here. I was wondering why you were going so heavily into wolves. 😂 Your other comments cleared it up. I wonder if saying that at the beginning may have helped or if I'm just watching this way too late at night. Lol
Amped for this!! Huge wolf and WW fan. I actually have a WW and pure wolf deck ran by H and elana. (Good for this deck too). ‘Mander seems awesome! Let’s gooo
Just found you today and so far love your dech tech videos. Quick and concise, though i do hope you have some non budget videos in your catalog i can find or do some in the future. My play group gets together twice a week and play exclusively proxy decks, so we just print and cut for our decks. Either way, great video.
Thank you I really appreciate it! I haven’t really thought of making open budget videos because I make deck techs for videos like I would make them for me. However there has been some ideas I’ve canned because the budget was too high so maybe I’ll just put them out for the people who want them :)
You want 2/3rds elves, 1/3rd wolves. You play out 2-3 elves to get Voja on the board turn 3, he has ward 3 so he's pretty safe to stick around for one turn that early on. Even better is to have haste enablers, and maybe drop him turn 4 and swing immediately. You put 3-4 counters on your board and draw a couple cards. Now your mana dorks are 5/5s and Voja is 9/9.
I actually preffer to run more elves than wolves. Just run all the good mana dorks and benefit from ramping. Especially the power matters elves like Sylvalla and Gyre Sage. Use spells like Last March of the Ents and Return of the Wildspeaker to draw a ton of cards and refill your hand after attacking. Oh, and how could i forget roaming throne to double the attack trigger as well. Along with any other triggers for wolves you control.
Oh no doubt it’s way stronger to go elves, I just didn’t really want another busted elf commander lol. This is the first busted wolf commander so I thought that would be more interesting
we legit posted a deck tech on the same commander at the same exact time. Our decks are luckily not the same. I went elfball. Anyway great job on the video. Good luck.
How do we get this commander? It doesn’t show up on the singles list for the set and it says Prerelease on the bottom. Is it a card that only can be wok at Prerelease?
That’s okay, I don’t play high power or cEDH, which I make pretty clear in my videos. Drawing 10 cards for having 10 2/2 wolf tokens on the field is pretty strong in casual commander in my opinion
Id definitely make sure you get accurate information and clarification on rulings before you upload so you don't lead your viewers astray. Nothing apreads fast like false information.
Feel free to correct anything I get wrong in my videos. I don’t claim to know all the rules in the game, I’m not sure anybody does. Luckily we have Google to sort things out for us though!

Oh that’s sweet, always hard to tell when things trigger at the same time. Thanks!

Awesome, thanks for clarifying that!

@@NateFinch If Voja attacks, by default you control 1 wolf-Voja. ✌️
It's time for Master of the wild hunt to shine!
Heck yes it is!

lol yeah I think even that version people would still play, there’s just so much on this card

Oh for sure they’re probably amazing in the deck, I just build mostly budget haha

Changelings would also double dip ;)
They had an episode on command cast? And it ran away at one point

I believe I did mention that the elves would’ve been too strong but maybe I just thought I did 😂

That’s awesome, I’m glad you’re stoked for it, this seems really fun
Ima stop you right there 0:46 You’re gonna wanna lean into maskwood nexus and get everything
Agreed it’s in the deck, I talk about it in the utility section towards to end :)

The Tokens you create with Kessig Cagebreakers can get the counters if you let the trigger of Voja go first on the Stack !!
Yeah that’s awesome lol some stack interactions like that still confuse me
Printed out a proxy and ran a version of this already. It does NOT need the doublers
Yeah I figured it didn’t lol

Also a good way to go! Elves are probably a stronger way to go, little too strong for my liking though.
powerhouse card to add, Doors of Durin. lets you scry 2.. look for Shalai and Hallar and GG
Great find! Love that card

@levisdeckbox valid. Love seeing wolves get support. It's also nice to see an elfball commander that isn't sickening to play against/with

Haha perfect timing eh? Nice, I like that Naya elves has a commander now. Thanks same to you :)
I think it's worth iterating that this is a 7.5 or8 in power level
Oh definitely, it’s one of the strongest decks I’ve put on this channel.
How do we get this commander?
It doesn’t show up on the singles list for the set and it says Prerelease on the bottom. Is it a card that only can be wok at Prerelease?
No it’s in packs as well as prerelease events
Tested two versions so far, wolf tribal and elf tribal. Elf is way better and more powerful. Wolves is very mid to weak.
That’s okay, I don’t play high power or cEDH, which I make pretty clear in my videos. Drawing 10 cards for having 10 2/2 wolf tokens on the field is pretty strong in casual commander in my opinion

Your wrong on these rulings my guy. If your gonna make videos like this at least know the stack
What did I get wrong my guy
people keep gaslighting themselves to think this is a commander for 7 lobbies. i'm like what are yall doing not playing elves or ramp?
Yeah this is definitely a pretty high powered commander lol
