It’s crazy how drivers will be abysmal in one racing series, then switch to something completely different, and just crush it
It works precisely the same within that same series (be it F1, Hypercar, LMP1, GT3, etc) but... with different cars. As you can see even within F1, different cars can yield vastly different results for the same driver.
That's why you can only judge Verstappen in F1 right now. If he goes to WEC or IndyCar and flops, then we can rip into him. Right now, though, he is the best in F1 and he's proving it.
@@scsutton1 No denying it. Max in those Red Bulls is a menace, but I think he would probably crush it in any other car. The guy is simply a prodigy driver... He breathes racing. Even in his free time he plays racing games and sims.

@@scsutton1he still undoubtedly has amazing talent and skill as a driver, i really don't doubt that he'll perform very well in sports car racing, also considering the fact that he does a whole lot of top level sports car sim racing and does amazing. he definitely has plans to race in other series some years down the line I just hope that he can have a few more championship battles in F1 when the other teams aren't snoozing.
Imagine if he raced full-time for Williams in 2023 instead of the Red Bull B-team, with Sargeant spending another year in F2. At least he seems to be in the right place now.

There is life beyond F1.
This race had me on the edge of my seat.
And I was standing when No. 7 won. Toyota definitely was down and out, no fuel, no race pace, nothing but a decent set of tyres, great drivers, and wizards for engineers got them that one.

Man..... I think Ericcson may have been right. Most of the drivers of F1 (not talking about Max or LH or Alonso), they struggle in F1 but do good in other series. Something is wrong with F1.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that can clearly hear the absolute biased these commentators have in regard to Toyota. It's so blatant, there completely in it for Ferrari.
@@scottsmith491 It almost felt like Martin had bet his entire net worth on Ferrari maintaining their podium lockout. I had to switch to RS1 commentary on Radio Le Mans because his ranting was starting to get insufferable - I didn't unmute the WEC TV comms until the last hour and a half!
de Vries excels at every other racing series other than F1. I'm beginning to think F1 has a curse that automatically activates for him or something...

Nothing against WEC but its not even on the same planet in terms of difficulty compared to F1 the thing that makes WEC a little bit more difficult is that there's always longer races but it's even more of a team sport then F1 is. F1 cars are a nightmare to drive and I'm sure De Vries knows that. As someone who has done high level esports for F1 and WEC (yes I know it's not real life) I can tell you I'd much rather drive 3 hours at Imola in a Hypercar then 1 hour at Imola in an F1 car. F1 is extremely intense. It physically takes a toll a lot more, theres a lot more shifting, braking points are almost at the apex of a corner, oversteer and snaps are more aggressive and harder to catch, you're doing a lot more on the steering wheel as well. Just for example it's usually about 51 different shifts per lap for Monaco in an F1 car its just overall painful (I'm sure in real life that's tenfold from what I experienced on the sim) eventhough De Vries had a little bit of time in F1 you can see it did wonders for his career elsewhere. A 1 hour race in a Hypercar is a cakewalk compared to an F1 car is what I'm saying. F1 is already the most grueling motorsport in the world along with maybe Motogp and if you had a 24 hours F1 race (which I have no idea how you would) it would be the craziest spectacle ever
