I was disappointed by the first version of skirmish. The new versions I had fun with. It's a bit difficult to form a opinion as when I played, the server was only partly full, but Majority and Phased have promise. I'm the most interested in Majority, I like having 3 points to fight over at once. It feels dynamic. Unfortunately, I only got in 1 round of Majority, but I liked what I saw. Hopefully we'll see more Majority on different maps in later PTEs.
Phased majority sounds essentially like what offensive was originally? with two points to take before the attacking team can progress to the next row of points, but it was terrible for the defending team because of how stretched thin they became and ultimately they changed it to what offensive is today.
Yes but it was only “terrible” if defenders didn’t communicate and deploy enough squads to each capture point. It will also necessitate players learning the importance of redeploying to capture points which are facing a lot pressure. I think if people play HLL properly Majority Skirmish could be quite fun!
I haven't play it, I hopped in like once three weeks ago, but it's unplayable right now. Zero communication, zero garrisons, barely any OPs. This game mode seems promising, maybe it will be easier for nobs to traverse smaller maps, but I fear that it will even more discourage making spawning points. The amount of damage that arcade shooters did is visible in any other shooter. People just tunnel vision to W+M1.
@@IronHeartGamingYT First, when the battle starts, you get a cinematic explaining the historical context of that battle, then you’ll start with an insertion mode like Airborne, and then proceed to fight on modes like conquest or breakthrough (pretty much like hll offensive mode). After one side wins, you get another cinematic explaining how is the current state of the battle. And then the next day starts with map changes depending on which side won the previous day. The game mode last 3 in-game days, however, teams may be tied creating the need for a dramatic tie breaker. That’s when Final Stand is triggered. Here, your team only has one spawn per player, significantly reduced resources, one magazine, and possible extreme weather conditions such as snowstorms or rainstorms. Its kinda hard to explain but you can look to a gameplay of bf1 or bfv. For me, is a great cinematic experience, I'll love to see multiple players airborne drops in game.
I love the idea of cinematics and dynamic battlefields/maps which can change depending on what team’s do in previous matches. There was talk of some sort of campaign mode for HLL where maps would take place in chronological order and that could affect the resources for the next map like D-Day beach maps followed by Carentan and so on. I also like the idea of cinematic or immersive starts to matches, like beach landings or paratroopers.
Just seems like there making the game infantry focused to near infantry only which is really stupid for the type of game hll is, if you want infantry only just play cod or even battlefield since vehicles are becoming non-existent there too now
What do you even mean they’re making the game mostly infantry focused? It’s just a mode. This will not overtake the main modes from the game, I guarantee it.
@@Marty6804 I play on console which is already dying in player numbers, without a server browser it will only divide the community more on matches players will leave on and make finding games harder. I've heard people want a mode like this on console so I feel it will be the mode where most the players are to stay in the server. As for PC I don't play on it often but I know it won't be an issue there
i hear you, and i think its an interesting difference between console and PC players, since with community-run servers that need to be seeded then skirmish is basically a way of making the seeding rules the communities have generally agreed upon more official, but since you all are just doing matchmaking it doesn't really do anything for you.

I don’t know but I would expect those new forces and new game modes to be added next year. Skirmish is apparently coming in “early 2024”.

and the smooth brain level gameplay will get worse when this drops. people will bring this playstyle with them to regular games
