Kotel (Котел - cauldren) Balkan village

Kotel is on the road over the Balkan mountains which takes you from Targovishte in the north, down to Sliven and Yambol in the south. It is situated in beautiful countryside, ideal for hiking and has a pretty town square with a cafe/bar at each end.

Kotel has potential but is ravaged by litter. The town seems to have two parts. The old town which is clean and well preserved and then the more modern part of town which to be frank looks like a rubbish dump. The river running through the town is polutated so much it's tragic. I blame the Gypseys and Turkish which the town seems to consist mainly of.
