This just gave me an actual flashback, holy shit. The last time I saw my ankle go that far I heard the nastiest CRACK of my life and next thing I knew I was face-first in the dirt trying not to vomit. I need these exercises in my life, Stat.
Last time I rolled my ankle was middle school in the middle of PE. 😅 It hurt so damn bad and was such a hard fall I thought I broke it. I had to hop on one foot all the way to the nurses office because no one helped me and all the nurse gave me was a bag of ice (figures) was also unlucky too because that was like the last 10 minutes of school so I had to hop all the way to the buses on one leg and ended up missing it.
Same. I fractured my ankle a few months ago and it’s basically healed but I lack a lot of range of motion and athleticism in my right ankle now. There’s a noticeable difference of athleticism if I jump off my left foot as opposed to my right. Need to start doing these so I don’t screw up my ankle again
I've always had very wobbly ankles (broken many a bone by falling because of them), and my therapist told me it can be a side effect of trauma, which is wild to me. I've learned trauma truly lives in your body, and my weak wobbly ankles might very well be a symptom of my PTSD. I'm going to start doing your suggested stretches and strength exercises to help my body heal, and I'm really excited about it. Thank you for being so positive and encouraging! (Edited for typo)
No man I've heard a thousand stories of doctors saying it's caused by trauma and then we figure out the real issue so much later than we should have. It's probably caused by physical weakness. Try to locate and isolate the exact muscles and tendons in your ankle that are weak or tight. Try to stretch them in directions a little past uncomfortably but not into pain. Try to resistance train various types of movements with light dumbbells (like 2lb or something, maybe 1, ankles aren't strong). That trains both muscle strength, and stability control when you practice do each rep smoothly. While fear might be in your mind, no amount of controlling your mind can overcome physically weak and stiff muscles and tendons. Just make sure to not overwork them and make them inflamed, and def don't tear anything midworkout. If they're sore, let them rest (still do light stretches to help them heal, but do not stretch past comfortably this time). If you have a job that requires standing or walking, only train on Friday before the weekend, etc. I hope this helps, someone close to me had very wobbly wrist and some PTSD too. PTSD might've caused it at first but having wobbly and unstable wrist for so many years also caused the muscles to be weak, her coordination to be weak, and some muscles to be tight. All three solved by training like a champ! And the confidence from the strength and stability helps so much with feeling psychologically healthy. Obv I can't explain the movements over text but you can Google ankle stretching and strengthening exercises it'll do wonders 🙏 Good wishes!
Maybe you have hypermobile joints. I have wobbly ankles as well and it is cause of that. You have to strengthen the muscles around the joint to get stability from. Also you might need support soles (orthotic insoles, fitted to your feet).
A piece of advice, you should start roller blading(liners). Overall it is great for muscle growth and is also great for ankle mobility. I used to roller blade in the past and I have big legs (muscles) and great mobility. I am almost same as this guy in terms of leg strength and flexibility

I grew up running around in a forest and being neglected a lot by my parents and well I've never had ankle problem and can roll them in and so on no problem.
I learned about this with my son having his cast removed. Basically out of thinking about how restricted his ankle was in the cast I knew he would have a low tolerance for rolling an ankle. Good vid yo
another way to avoid rolled ankles without stretching, is to just go along with the fall. Lean into it. Don't fight it. If you lean into the roll, your ankle will never actually reach that point of no return. Fighting the roll causes the muscles to tense up, and if your leg is tensed up, it's just going to make your day so much worse in the end. Leaning into the roll keeps your muscles relaxed enough that the stretching becomes nothing more than a mild inconvenience for a few seconds. If you learn to go with the flow, AND do the stretching, I can promise that you will never ever roll your ankle ever again.

Well I guess you learn something new every day. I always assumed ankle rolling was a natural thing, just that nobody did it because it looked funny to stand that way 😭
I have been doing kadour ziannis 7 postures for about 9-10 months now and ankle flexibility and strength is a big component of the system. One day I was walking out in the woods and I stopped to pee by some rocks. Being the adventurous type, I planted my foot on some rocks only to my dismay the rocks where stacked on top of each other in a weird way and they collapsed into each other causing my ankle to collapse as well and I landed like the guy in the video. I’m really thankful I developed that ability as I was ALONE in the middle of the woods with no medical aid for miles if I did got injured. Moral of the story is train your ankles, train your flexibility/mobility folks it could save your life one day.
Important is that after having ankle flexibility you also always need to have muscles so you can support the loose ankles --To be honest i don't know if im right or wrong
OMG, I had no idea such workout exists! I used to walk on rolled ankles bare feet as a kid when the bottom of my feet were sore... That explains why they are so flexible, I still roll them like that everyday when I sit or chill. So basically I am working out my ankles on daily without even knowing. Sick!
Being healthy and flexible like this should be mandatory. Like we should take care of our bodies like this and exercise them properly in schools or whatever. It would lessen the burden on healthcare systems as well. I need to step up my own game!
Damn. Fasting, plant-based/vegan, NSDR, yoga, Wim Hof breathwork, meditation, proper hydration, proper sleep, ice baths, cold and hot water therapy, ginger tea, etc. to really help you.
Lol
Obv I can't explain the movements over text but you can Google ankle stretching and strengthening exercises it'll do wonders 🙏
Good wishes!

Just rolled my left ankle pretty bad two weeks ago. When i recovered I will do those excercises!!!
I needed that, i landed on my left rolled ankle, i heard a crack and i think i teared my foot muscle thingy that peeks out
@@armoule8596if you're referring to the sides of your ankle, those are absolutely not muscle but are in fact bone. If you landed on them and rolled your ankle from any sort of height I would recommend coming into hospital and getting it checked out. You can fracture the bones within the ankle joint
This video is so scares the hell out of me but thats the first exercise im going to incorporate because i just discovered you and youre so damn cool, thank you.
I love your videos for you ever finding out effective yet simple ways to solve difficulties. 👍
Me who's genuinely broken my ankle walking on a flat surface: "What sorcery is this????"
fr tho, at one point when i was little i sprained both my ankles. The first time was falling down the stairs, then i kept rolling that same ankle, then b/c i kept rolling that ankle, i rolled the other on a flat surface and had two sprains
As an ex ballet dancer, my muscle memory is ingrained and I constantly make them work 🩰
could you do some streches for forearm tendinitis? i've veen struggleing with it for months now:(
Yes please!! I hurt mine from bowling wrong a few months ago and I'm still not 100

the fact that i’m laying in bed and stayed home from school today because i rolled my ankle…then i scroll onto this😭😂
I have been doing this for years! When I wear tall or uncomfortable heels I stand on the sides of my feet when I get a chance to stand still. I have found a lot of other people so it too 😂
Lol me when I’m bored at parties hahaa. I legit would do it without realizing it some of the time.
As an MMA enjoyer who practices for fun (with a history of ankle sprains), this is gonna change my life forever.
Thank you! I rolled my ankle maybe 7 months ago and it's still paining me to this day. I'm going to start stretching this out in hopes that it helps my recovery
Has it?
@@dylpickle6123 Not yet, but I'm still working on it. I went to the cable park for 2 hours yesterday and only hurt it once
Omg all the stuff I do when I`m bored either sitting or standing around actually had a purpose XD This explains why I constantly stumble and roll my ankle but never hurt myself
Same
Yeah I used to do this so much
My guy if I found you six years ago I could've saved myself a very painful injury and three hospital visits. Love your content so much
The bodybuilder we didn't know we needed!

I needed this. I'm watching this video with a cast and I always have this problem. This is gonna be a life changer
I'm autistic and have been standing and walking on the outer sides of my feet SO MUCH! and because I have hypermobility, I've accidentally "overrolled" my ankles a lot, so this will hopefully give them some support! Thank you for your content, it's been teaching me a lot about my body and how to help it.
Me who stands on the sides of my feet, I’ve been training for this my whole life
Did not think about that, I do to !
Never hurt my ankles when they rolled
For real though, people born with high arches have been doing this forever.
I sometimes like to stand at my rolled foot/ankle(?), like you rolled it at the beginning of the video. I don't know how to explain it.
PS: I never stretched it intentional

I do that too and my ex boyfriend said i was weird
@@user-fy9xl9eu8c not cap, i like to do that too
Same. It's just comfy. Specially if I've been standing all day and my heels are starting to ache.
@@user-fy9xl9eu8c I can do it aswell I have a decent advantage seeing I’m hyper flexible and mobile
You are actually great 🤌 Stay Flexy!
Lol, I saw this right after I sprained my ankle. Better late then never tho🤣
Me realizing I used to get bored easily standing in line during school. So now here I am flexible ankles. I think the worst I got was a sprain. I was on the dance floor and I tripped and someone wasn’t pay attention and stepped right on my ankle 😂😂😭
AM 36 AND AFTER WATCHING YOU NEVER HAD STRONGER ANKLES MY BROTHER THANKS 💪🏼
I fell off a fence and landed on my foot just like that on Monday. Still recovering from the sprain as of tonight, Wednesday. Damn, algorithm, you scary.
He’s not lying when he said it will make you sore the next day 😂😂
You scared the s*** out of me 😂 You are such unbreakable guy
Someone send this video to Jimmy Butler.
I sincerely thank you for this. Rolled my ankles a total of 6 times of various sprains from highschool to college and they havent been the same since. I used to dance and have great flexibility and strength but when i stopped they tensed and stiffened hence the sprains.
Keep on making the world a better place brother, absolutely the most noble thing you could do with your time and thats some real man shit. I appreciate your work 🙏
Bro i try it yesterday i was like "i didnt even felt anything, must doin it wrong" and today i CANT EVEN STANDDD HELPPP
Rolled my ankle many times but never got hurt, guess i'm just built different
I found your channel yesterday looking for shoulder mobility. Then this shows up. I'm always rolling my ankles and my wife gives me crap for it every time. Game changer.
Well I guess you learn something new every day. I always assumed ankle rolling was a natural thing, just that nobody did it because it looked funny to stand that way 😭
As a 100kg taekwondo athlete, this helps
I just felt in love with your channel! Anything I need always here to find! Thank you❤
As a skateboarder u just changed lives
I'm a fast bowler in cricket and this is helping me a lot now… I love it❤
You’re content is 👑
Now THIS I really need. Thanks.
Important is that after having ankle flexibility you also always need to have muscles so you can support the loose ankles --To be honest i don't know if im right or wrong
muscle stretch is linked to strength (in both ways)
I sometimes twist my feet when walking to places (one of my ways of exercise and commuting), but nothing bad out of it. I used to skateboard and such, and never had issues with injuries like such.
You, sir, are a GODSEND!
These videos make my body tense up so much man 😂
As I look more and more at these Flexy videos, I become more and lore superhuman. I love it.
This is actually so useful, I have hyperflexability and had really weak ankles as a kid. I used to roll my ankles badly every few weeks! Now I only do once in every 2 years... Wish I knew this earlier
Thanks a million for this clip!
