If you’re new to Geek Psychology, my name is Matt Sherman. People call me Sherman. I'm a personality type expert, life coach, hypnotist, author, podcaster, and course creator. I help mainly INFPs embrace their unique strengths and navigate life's challenges. Through practical strategies and deep insights, I aim to help people like you live a more fulfilling and authentic live where you can wake up and feel good about who you are and your impact on the world. Here's a little love for my ENTJ and ESTJ friends out there with a bit more stress than they need! As someone who leads with extraverted Thinking, I know you work with it, mold it, and use it to get things done, but sometimes you need to engage with your introverted Feeling too! If not, you're going to get strangely emotional and have this weak depressed little dude or dudette version inside you freaking out.
Telling yourself to just pick yourself up and keep going is not really the best approach to stress relief for ENTJ and ESTJ types! In this video I give a couple techniques you can use to build more rapport DAILY with your introverted Feeling inferior / aspirational function.

I’ve hacked myself being an ENTJ into understanding that whenever I’m not being effective at work that means I need to rest. I NEED to, because otherwise I’m gonna make a mess out of my beloved work. Specially since quarentine this idea hit me harder, before that I just waited until my body was sick and the doctor told me to rest so I had no excuses...

Create your own safezone when you can confront your feelings and at the same time you can do somthing productive.
For me [ENTJ ] I go for a run , listen to motivational music and try to figure out what's going on with me. Using this technique, I get to my feelings. When you're done running, shut that door and you're good to go.

As an ENTJ - 100% agree with journaling, every few days analyse what keeps coming up, it will make your processes and progression frictionless. Even high performance athletes do this, so it is 100% worth giving a go. Secondly scheduling a weekly call with a therapist. See it like going to the gym but for your mind, if you do not train your body your body will become fat. Similarly if you do not exercise your mind, it too will become unhealthy.

I would say this sincerely, "Thank You.." I always knew i am an ENTJ but as a late 20s with a stable job, lately i feel a big burnout. I am stressed, but i don't know if i am stress enough to get myself a day off. I shut down emotions and i really don't know what to how to feel with things. I really want to stop but my mind is like not allowing me to stop and keep pushing myself forward and set the goal higher and higher everytime.
Thank you for this. i hope i get better soon and overcome with this burnout.

Scrolling the comments and I noticed this.
A practice that helped me was to determine an acceptable range of success. If you are consistently hitting your benchmark, it's probably not challenging enough and will also lack fulfillment.
      When you set a target, recognize that it's fairly ambitious. Also in hind sight, train yourself to have multiple ways of perceiving what you achieved such as;
      Phenomenal, 105% of goal
      Perfect, 100% of goal
      Acceptable, 85% of goal
      Needs Adjustment, 85% or below
      Hope this helps!

Being a teenager I recently started to get depressed for nothing. Even though I achieve what I wanted to I am not satisfied but proud of achieving. And sometimes I divert my anger to the people around me for silly reasons. I feel like my old self has been taken away from me. But then I remind myself who am I and what are my purposes that I have set in this world go go for the day.
Now after graduating high school the university decisions are getting me. Why are we like this always wanting the best and the greatest in life :)

When you said introverted intuition I saw the "attack" word coming . I freeze to death when I find myself in this situation especially when out of touch with my introverted intuition. I m more mature so I would use my extroversion very carefully in situation even if I ramble a lot on almost everything . Thank you for the video it was surprisingly accurate and healing. Good job. ENTJ here. Been looking through the comments for some good tips but it looks like i know as much as anyone else here about how to relax=))) I was hoping fore something simple, quick and effective... If it helps, here's what i do: I plan everything in such was that i keep the work going at the required speed (with deadlines and all), but make sure i can sneak in my needs when i can afford or need them. For example, when i try to do more and better as usual on a project, but i feel like my body or mental state is in serious danger of collapsing i make myself sole those problems just as if they would be a more urgent and more important project. I do now i can't put myself in too much danger because then i won't be able to do everything else i have to and want to do. Sometimes i do get really close of doing way too much my head and body can handle. It just gets out of hand. I enter that robotic state of serious work and i forget to do even the most basic things, such as drinking some water or eating for once in a day:)) It's only then a problem is secured when i come out of that hypnotic state and realize it's already the next day (me starting working the second i woke up). But truth is, when i am like that i do usually pretty effective work and i like that. After a few moths of this (especially when exams are closing in, like now) i am drained an depressed, my mind and body both just so damn fragile and all i need is 2 days off at best. If i do sit around doing nothing more than 2 days i'm actually twice as bad:))) Look at me rambling around here. Sorry, i think i just needed to get all this off my chest, there's really no one who'd listen. Thanks for the video

So I need to pump my weak Fi function through dialogue with myself or reflection, which is best spent every day in the diary. In it, make comparisons with yourself yesterday in order to understand motives, perspectives and values.

The most important thing in this work is to determine your values, to determine about 5-10 important and 3 main ones, among which first of all should be those things that give motivation to fulfill them during the day. Stress can arise from the feeling that you are not moving in your own direction, that is, you do not satisfy your own values, the Fi function is actively trying to report on this.

Personally, I would search the Internet for more ways to pump Fi and determine own values, but basically this recommendations will be enough. Thank you, Matt Sherman and other commentators.

ENTJ - I am thinking about the people that doesn't get stressed in the same situations and look at the situation through their lens. I see people with low standards as role models, because they don´t care if they don´t make it, that is an achievment for an ENTJ (that have made me stronger and less stressed)! I also zoom out and rationalize the situation, like "is this important for me to survive"? And "If I knew I (or a loved one) would die next week, would this be something to care about"? When it comes to work, of course the answer is no. There is almost nothing to care about more than your health and your loved ones.

I just want everyone else to take a week long vacation so i can deep clean the entire freaking house and get back to a healthy lifestyle for myself because now my personal health is tanking and I'm getting freaking knots in my neck from stress and.... omg too much to text, i need a vacation from my family or a better job to get my own house. • @GeekPsychology

I imagine it’s rough! But take it as slow as it needs to be. Idk if it’d feel wrong to you, but I plot my functions in a diamond shape with Fi on top, Ne to the left, Si to the right, and Te at the bottom. I then have a rough estimate of “how Fi was I today”. I connect the dots to each. I look at it every day.
You could do this with core emotional groupings in whatever fitting shape... or a line.
      I’d use these examples.
      1. Uncomfortable (boredom, unease)
      2. Fear (worry, anxiety)
      3. Hurt (unloved, abandoned)
      4. Anger (irritation, rage)
      5. Frustration (being held back, hinderance)
      6. Disappointment (let down)
      7. Guilt (regret)
      8. Inadequacy
      9. Overload (overwhelm, depression)
      10. Lonely (separation)
Just roughly plot it. They give you signs of things you can take Te steps to change as well... which can’t fully be capsulated in this reply :P
