Watching your videos has helped me become a better builder and absolutely finishes a model to look more realistic.Thank You...I have lots to learn and always look forward to your videos.
You never fail to impress Martin. This does look time consuming, but should be worth the result. Thanks for demonstrating the technique and for the tips to make the task easier. Your Fw by the way looks excellent. - Bob
Hi David,
I am very thankful for your videos. You always address topics clearly and answer the questions that pop up in my head ("where did he get those blueprints?"). Also, your encouragement makes me realize that modeling is all about practice. I spend more time reading about it than building because I am intimidated and don't like making mistakes. Perhaps this is the wrong hobby! Or perhaps it is the right one as it forces me to become patient and resilient.
Anyways love your videos - they always address key topics which other videos or magazine articles simply don't discuss. Thank you!
I know it is about riveting, but i am amazed that engine looks stunning.
you could say the engine is _riveting_
Fastenating.
Your job is really impresive! i want to see this folker finished. It promises a great plastic model! Well done, still working Martin
I am considering getting back into models. I have not touched one in 40 years. Your work and videos are exceptional. I expect to watch you tutorials often. Thanks for the great work and help.
Scratch building is awesome & time consuming
Beautiful work. Your approach to the task and how you present it to your audience is excellent. Thank you for sharing.
Amazing job!!!!! You have the best tutorials on you tube. Love the step by step videos!!!
Thank you for the video demonstrating how and why to do riveting. Your engine detail and the finished model look amazing.
Excellent! You are certainly a very talented modeller!
You make it look so easy!
Thank you and God Bless You!
Simply amazing just like the previous tutorials. Looking forward to more modelling wisdom from you!
The Fw190 looks alot better with than without rivets Research each aircraft. Great job mate, thanks David.
I know this vid is about panel lines and rivits but look at that engine....damn, that's also a fine piece of work!!!
I like the explaination and the process u show here. Ive learn how to do it now from this video. Thanks.. greeting from Malaysia
I love your videos and your models... never thought I could sit through modelling videos from beginning to end!!! Good work :)
amazingly smart method and selfmade tools. great thanks from Russia
This is the best model maker on UA-cam that I've seen besides the guy that did the car in Brass parts Russian guys a real smart
Absolutely "riveting" :)
Another really helpful video.
Peter Brown 🙄🤣😂🤣😂🥊
FUlly underrated comment. Got a good "lol" out of me
Is it just me or does the music make it even better!! It’s like a movie!!
Great video....as always. You have been a huge help in my finding my way around scale modelling. A big thanks from India...
Your such a master craftsman i can only dream of what you do with models.
Great video Martin, I think you're model making guides are about the best on UA-cam. On another video I noticed you sculpted you're own superb figure. I'd love to see a 'how to' covering figure sculpting.
Holy crap that engine is so detailed!
Masterclass. Thank you very much for sharing your hard won skills. Amazing work.
The best website ever. Thankyou!
Great Video Martin think i will try riveting on my next build so thanks for showing how you do it
Brilliant tutorial , and a fantastic model! Thank you for sharing 👍
Thank you for this tutorial. Keep up the great work. Also, your English is excellent!
Thank you so much for taking the time to make this tutorial, very helpful indeed!!!
Great tips David thanks from New Zealand.
дааа, терпения и усидчивости Вам не занимать! Отличная работа коллега !
Always great to watch your work
Congratulations on your outstanding talent.
awesome work! I love your videos and your style of modeling.
Velmi dobré a nápomocné video, díky.
The rivets look amazing.
Excellent work as always. Nice video !
I love the look of the rivets...so I bought a few rivet wheels and rivetted a Revell Beaufighter 1/32 scale...Took a couple weeks...I lightly sanded it and it looked great until I sprayed it and lost all the rivets....Doh!...I haven't given up...I'm working on the old Revell P38 1/32 at mo and I'll be riveting without the light sand this time...
Wooow!!! beautiful work!!!! Your techniques is awesome!!!
The riveter has bought it or you have made it by yourself??? thanks for share this tutorial!!
Excellent work Martin!
Stunning work! A great tutorial video as well, thank you!
Stunning work! You make it look so easy :) it's a shame dousek's riveters are so hard to get these days! Can't find them anywhere in Europe!
když to tak vidím, bych měl možná ty modely někdy taky pomalovat nebo něco :-)
výborná práce!
The best vid about paneling... Thanks a lot for sharing!!!
Thank you for sharing my friend, great job
Greetings from Brazil
So useful video!!. I have an alternative technique for riveting path, and is using a plastic "For Sale" ban, because it's flexible and solid enough. I wonder if you would show how to deal with old, risen paneled kits (How to clean the risen lines and re-scribing).
merci pour tout ces renseignements
Excellente vidéos.
Hello ! great video! Awesome! Just a question ...What is the diameter of the riveter tool used in the fw 190, 1/48 ?? All the best! Fernando
is it 0.65 mm or 0.75mm ?
I used 0.75mm.
Thank you! All the best! Fernando
Dude this is INCREDIBLE - thank you so much for the advice. I'm missing something basic...right at the start you say "after using putty..." ..what is this putty and how is it applied? Thanks again!
+thomas mann hmm, this is not exactly tutorial for begginers. If someone did few model must now what I mean. Putting and sanding it totaly for another tutoral. ua-cam.com/video/Lolh826zHxw/v-deo.html
+PLASMO - plastic models thank you so much, I'll watch and learn, sorry i didn't see that one!
aha. The bit I couldn't understand was what the overall substrate was that you were wheeling the simulated riveting into. From looking at other tutorials I think that it is sprayed primer (I assume 'primer' is the same in practice as 'surfacer') that has reached a thickness sufficient to obliterate the model's markings and thus require fresh riveting. Right?
Brilliant video. Thank you so much for putting this up.
can you do a tutorial on cutting flaps?
I never knew about the up armor modifications to this aircrafts cockpit!
Stunning work.
Great tutorial Martin.👍
These videos are awesome! Thanks for making these.
Hi Plasmo , very instructive videos congratulations, do you use regular black electric tape ?
great build as always, and very informative to! one question though, if you have a model that comes with raised rivet details would it be worthwhile to sand off the raised detail and then use the technique of making rivets. or be better to just leave them alone? thanks!
Martin! This is fantastic! What is the model number and brand of the little razor saw blade you use for panel lines?
Great video, Martin. Well described tutorial. This russian page is great source of information.
Cheers,
Radek
I've bin wanting to try riveting effect on some kits. Going to have to get a tool and give it a go.
Thank you for the excellent tutorial. Can you please tell me where you bought your riveting tool?
Do you think I could apply the rivets after applyingg a lacquer base coat, or will it be to hard for the riveting tool?
BTW thank for your channel, I got back into model making because of it. I used all your techniques and the results even amaze me. Not as nice as yours but above my expectations.
Uitsteekend! i.e. Double WOW - Thank you sooo much for showing us this technique Plasmo!
Great stuff. Does your "razor saw" have teeth or is it closer to a utility knife blade?
brilliant yet again
Great video David! Very informative I just happen to have one question: how do you rescribe the wierd shapes on the model like for example circles or rounded corners?
Fantastic tutorial. Thank you for sharing Martin.
TommyBoy ScaleModeling isn't his name David Damek? Who is Martin?
Do you think i should rivet when scale 1:72? Great videos plasmo! I really apriciate the time an effort you put on them. /Andreas, Sweden
Krásné a originální. Díky za nápady :-)
Another informative video David!
One question: What do you do with models that have a few engraved molded rivet lines (usually on the control surfaces)? Do you prefer to match the pitch of the molded rivets, or do you fill them and replace them with your own rivet lines? For example I have a Tamiya 1/72 P-51D that has a molded rivet pitch of around 0.8-0.9 mm, while the "real" pitch from blueprints show a pitch of around 0.5-0.6 mm. What would you do when making rivets on the whole plane?
Hi, any advice on which type of tape to be used as guide? Thank you
Hello, great tutorial - what kind of tape are you using? Can you name the brand/ shop/ source? Krasna praca - a vopred diky moc za odpoved!
not sure, but it seems normal electrical insulating tape. I'd love to know that too :)
Hi there, great job! Do you have a link for somewhere to buy the wooden riveting tool? Thanks
Really nice work! What's that black tape you're using? I've bee using Dymo so far. It's nicely thick and not too soft, but somewhat pricy.
It's called electrical tape, or PVC insulation tape.
Oh, I should have recognized that. Thanks!
Now from what I've used electrical tape, I remember its adhesive being sticky and prone to leaving gooey residue; have you had issues with that? Any particular brands you could recommend that work better than others?
Or do you just clean up the taped areas after scribing? I'd guess doing that right away would cut down on the possible adhesive residue pretty well.
Well... I never really take the tape off anything, I use it for making grips and wrapping round wires, I never take it off, but from the one or two times that I have taken it off there was sticky residue. I think for modelling don't put it on too hard, just put it on so it stays there and it shouldn't leave so much residue.
Excellent job & video!!
Amazing tutorial. Can make you a little insecure when you see just how good the detail is. Still, it's about the enjoyment and learning from others.
Wow, wow, wow. Incredible
Fantastic. beautiful engine too.
Hello, I just found your videos and they are some next level stuff for sure. I have a question for you abkut 9:55 the finished painted model shows decals on the wing saying no step in German. When i apply decals they tend to show an edge where the clear film is around the decals and it looks undealistic. Can you make or recomend a video that shows pro level decal work. Also there are sme rivits on the leading edge that are spaced far appart. I assume you used a pin or some other tool to do those individualy by hand, what did you use?
Thanks again for all the hard work in making these videos that help us out here take ouf work up a level:)
How interesting. Nice video. Anyone recall the old Otaki and Aria kits came factory with rivets. Also ICM molds rivets in both 1/72 and 1/48. They are very nice.
Thats is amazing, really looks realistic... Thanks for the tips...im gonna try it.
Can u make a painting tutorial, washing or weathering video?
Im really enjoy of ur video...good job
Like it 👍🏻👍🏻
At 1:34 are you using a black electrical tape or something similar? I have a Stuka, that needs to be re-scribed due to extensive body work.
What do you do with the left over residue from the tape? Your thoughts would be appreciated.
Btw, I must complement you on your detailed videos as they have really help out me out - being a newbie its very informative.
I hope you continue to find time to do your videos.
One last comment I really enjoyed your Blue Stuff video - so much, I've ordered some as well.
Thanks from Canada.
bro it's not a great guide like them all it's a stunning giude
hi, first I would like to congratulate you with your awesome work, but for 1/35 I need which diameter?
It depends on aircraft type but you can use 0.75 or 1 mm it is a size between teeth.
should do the scribing and riveting done before the primer coat or after?
I prefer after primer. In scale 1/72 are not rivets to much deep, so less color is good.
Great tutorial! I would like to try this, Is it achievable on 1:72 aircraft?
Yes sure. But you will need a smaller riveting tool. I use 0,75 mm for 1/48 scale and 0,55 mm for 1/72 scale.

Here is a short example in 1/72 scale.

Great tutorials!!!
How did you get that rolling tool? It's like a pizza cutter...
I've been searching in many hobby shops and I can't find it.
I was tryingto het it in a phisical shop...
Thanks for this info!!!
Keep on whith tutorials!!!
Plasmo, how do you deal with raised panel lines? Do you sand them off and rescribe the panel lines?
Thats actually the common operation...there is no other way...
That's what I am working on now. Rescribing raised panel lines.at first I was sanding them away but I stopped because it helps to keep them as a guide.once finished them sand away.
when you need to apply a prelayer of metal paint to show scratches... when do u prefer to apply rivet, before or after that metal underlayer?
Do you have any tips for making raised rivets like those found on some spitfire kits
Great video, thanks.
I really love your work and e enjoy your videos.
Please build more FW190's!
Do newer, higher end kits have proper rivet detail?
Thank you, David, for sharing ! One question : where can we order the Dousek rivet tool (Rosie) ? Cheers from France
Amazing work
If I am brush painting, should I do riveting after painting or would it be better to do it after applying a layer of clear gloss?
I know this is an old post but great info.
great work, again!!!!
Exquisite work.
Amazing tutorial!!!) An interesting idea with an insulating tape, I have to try) I used a very thin copper ruler. Author, let me ask an immodest question, what country are you from? You use the metric system and, it seems to me, a Russian accent;)
Hey PLASMO, can you tell what do you do in order to scribe new panel lines in putty? I got problems with this, dealing with 1-1,5mm gap along panel line with Tamiya Putty White but when it comes to rescribe the line it goes bad and uneavenly (both, wide-wise and depth-wise) even despite scribing along the tape.
