I've been pushing to get a console port of this game the past few years, I'm grateful we got this one! What we need next are the Alltynex games!

Not that I needed another reason to come back to Crimzon Clover, but man, that new arrange mode looks amazing. Definitely picking this up.

Crimzon Clover has always had a certain polish that most doujin shooters only wish they had. Rolling Gunner is another. They don't come around too often, but when they do, they're just amazing.
whats even crazier is that Crimzon Clover was mostly made by one guy.
Its made by my favorite shoot em up player. His gamer handle is Clover- Tac

It's maybe my favorite or 2nd favorite shooter. I hope you love it.
The arrange mode is really something else. Others have mused that CC Arrange is the perfect inteemediary between Novice and Arcade. I'd agree, and its challenge is fair without being too easy - even moreso than Novice.
Decided to grab this...I like it, haven't tried Arranged mode yet, though. Honestly I can't tell how I manage to get through some parts sometimes, it's chaos. lol

the 'shot hit' counter is hilarious
This game gives me everything I need in a shmup, and my love for it has only increased in the Switch version, since I don't game a lot on my laptop.
This is definitely the definitive version by far. I wonder still how it will be brought to Steam though. Will World Ignition be updated and priced up? Seperate release? No solid info just yet.
Looks and feels like a dodonpachi game, which is a compliment.
The closest thing to the "real deal" without being Cave. A decent replacement along with Rolling Gunner in the vacuum they left behind, to be sure.

@@StudioMudprints Yep, Yotsubane, Crimson Clover's developer, is also Clover-TAC, one of the most legendary super players in the Japanese scene
I don't have a Switch unfortunately but I've been getting back into the game on PC in preparation for the update, and it's still just so damn good.
Also I've gotta say, I love how the thumbnail for each episode has a different design for the review number to match the game's logo, but this one has to be my favorite so far!
Thanks, it's something I've beem doing for a while and some are better than others. I think the ones for Sisters Royale, Oshaberi Horijo Gekihori, Guardian Force and Hyper Duel turned out really good too.

Thanks for the speedy review. I got this one on my Switch wish list but, I'm holding out for the slim possibility of LRG doing a physical port. I loved the Steam version and there's certainly enough on the EX version to warrant another purchase.
An LRG release would be pretty cool.

Excited to see this. Crimson clover is my fav shmup of all time and the one I judge all other bullet hells by. I’ll be buying this upgrade when on steam for sure.
Crimzon Clover has indeed always set a platinum standard for doujin bullet hell, but i think it's actually applicable to full shooting productions these days, even since Cave essentially disappeared from shmups development.

Is a very blessing that it was released on Steam: in Switch is an imput lag like a hell, at least on a Samsung 4K with HDMI
Switch performed extremely well on our ASUS monitor with 1ms response. If there is input lag, it didn't really register with me.

Are you sure there is no image filter on the monitor active, that is causing the lag?
More games should do that "wonderswan-style" tate mode.

I am not a fan of playing vertical shooters on PC & haven't got a Switch. Really hope this gets a PS4 release at some point but, after all this time, that is looking more & more unlikely ☹️😖

Would you recommend it for someone who doesn't quite like the lock-on system in Astebreed? I'll probably get it anyway, cannot not give this a go :D
Yes, absolutely. It feels much more different than Astebreed, no question: the lockon mechanic is more natural to the gameplay (offering cave-style focus) and it works well for scoring.
This reminds me of Mars matrix!

There are definitely guides out there. Where? I'm not 100% on that. A quick google search should do the trick though. Gamefaqs is a decent place to look too.

Last time Yotsubane mentioned Garukilla was like a year or two ago. I doubt he is still working on it but I hope I'm wrong.
I heard about another game he worked on that supposed had a playable demo, i guess its the one you guys mentioned, I liked saving up for continues with the limiter shop on the original version
I had no idea another was in development at some point. It wohld have been an instant blip on our radar had we known earlier!

Is this Gradious like mechanics really a good fit for a game like Crimzon Clover?

I can't help feel this was added strictly to pad out the "features" for a console release.
I'm sure it's very fun, it just seems a rather forced edition.
It works better than Gradius, so I'd day it's worthy. It feels a lot less derivative of the original too, which is what you want if you don't want everything to feel exactly the same.
Will we get a physical?
Unknown. It's possible, but when and by whom is the question.

Do you think this will come to PS4? Afraid of any shmups on switch because of input lag.
Not sure, but as was stated in thr review, there is no noticeable lag in this game, which is atypical of a lot of switch shooters. I tend to go PS4 if possible myself.
There is no noticeable lag, give it a try. It’s a lot of fun.
Too much stuff to enjoy the graphics
Haven't played this but I did play World Ignition. If they didn't tweak the difficulty then I can't recommend it for average skill players. Novice is so easy it's boring and Arcade is so stupidly hard it's not worth playing.
Arrange is the intermediary. Worth it.
