Hi Trey, This is amazing on two counts, firstly the building is still standing and secondly to meet someone who went to Humes High School when Elvis was there, that's incredible!! I hope your keeping a record of these places because we can't read up about them in any books out there right now. Take Care
Wow!, This was absolutely Awesome! How Cool was this to uncover such a time capsule! ...added bonus was the Veteran Marine who remembered Elvis in Humes!
Extremely interesting video! I actually like these very early venues much more than learning about the arenas from the '70s. It's so difficult to picture the same guy playing the Astrodome or Madison square Garden starting out playing at those little VFW's, American legions, high school gymnasiums, armories and other really small clubs. I lament the thought of somebody's grandparents out there having photographs or even home movie recordings of some of these very very early shows from 1954 and 1955 tucked away in their basement or attic. You know they have to be out there! Also, how cool was that guy? I feel like so many people probably have false claims of being his friend or close to him when in fact they were just like this gentleman. This guy was completely honest and saying he knew of him and was friendly with him but did not pretend to be his best friend or no everything about Elvis. I thought that was very humble of him. He could have fed you and us a line of stuff. Great work buddy!
My grandfather passed away twenty years ago. He was two years ahead of Elvis at humes. I once asked him if he knew Elvis,he sounded exactly like this gentleman. He said he was alright just another kid. He did say because of his hair and the way he dressed they thought he was funny. At the time I was younger and didn’t care, but I would give anything to go back and talk to him about this stuff.
Wow Trey, what a great story! I Love how you discover Elvis early History locations. I've heard Red West speak of going with Elvis to Granada the beginnings of being his body guard. Thanks Trey your amazing!
Thank you Mr. Trey for this interesting Elvis history. You definitely tightened up. A very nice interview from the the guy who went to Humes High School and remembered Elvis there. Getting things like this as part of the Elvis History before is gone. Just in time for Elvis's birthday tomorrow 👍👌. Safe travels and adventures Mr. Trey. May you have a blessed healthy Happy New Year ✨️ 🙏.
What a find! Loved the fact the place still exists and kept the original stage even after remodeling. Also loved the interview with the chap who went to Humes a year ahead of Elvis! What a great entry into the early years of Elvis. This really was/is quite interesting! Always enjoy what you have to post. Until next time, take care!
