The fact that you had the guts to tell your future coach "y'all are sleeping on this guy" is insane to me. I think maybe one needed the volleyball IQ necessary to see his potential and that might be easier for teammates to realize than for scouts, but it's still such a gutsy move

IT IS HIM!!! I was Tri's JV coach when he was in Maryknoll, but I had him as an opposite swing hitter! He could pass and swing at JV from 3M line. On top of that he had good hands like a setter. Thats why I had him as OP.
OMFG I heard he went to USC and I was not surprised at all. I knew he was going to make it. I didn't know he had issues getting recruited. WOW I am so proud of him... wow I so happy, he was one of my kids, good for him!

@@themckibbinbrothers I for instance loved the video where you played in Italy behind Vlado Petkovic and Sasa Starovic that got injured that season, since I'm from Serbia I had a chance to meet Vlado few years back, had no clue that you actually played in the same team. What I wanted to say, I think you should when you finish your career definitely go for the coaching position in some shape or form.
When I watched that video, I realized how much of a volleyball sense you had as a setter, the best setters aren't always the ones that set the nicest balls, but the ones that know how to recognize at what point in the game who needs to get the ball and you did that with your undersized middle blocker, which opened path for outside hitters and opposite spiker, since you made their middle's follow your own middle way more. That's why I think you should go into coaching, a lot of coaches that even have degree's in fields of sport, know a lot about vball mechanics, nutrition, body forming, etc, all the relevant things for sure, but they can't tell the story to inspire them, instill that working hard mentality because you worked hard to fight for your position or make a good setter. Setters are really 70% of the team till you get to the really high level of professional play where everyone is good and some small things make a huge difference.
Sorry for the long essay :), but I love your videos and becoming a coach is something that could grow your channel as you retire and stop playing.
      Good luck Riley :D
