Before I started recording, there was this one time that I dropped an airhead right beside the enemies point at WN7. We had just captured their last sector, none of them were there yet. We spawned in and moved into the house and as we did that, in the courtyard there was a garrison. One second later 25+ people spawned on it and we fortunately had a machine gunner, thompsons, and grenades and took them all out. It was a blood bath. After that I decided I should record every time I play. XD I did take a screenshot of the aftermath though.

Booted up OBS and managed to record the developers pulling in Titans ( the largest ship class in the game ) weapons disabled and marked them criminal in high sec space ( Anything larger than a carrier is unable to enter high sec normally) Managed to capture an otherwise impossible event which I thought was pretty cool.
So what happened here is this man understood the mindset of his enemy fanning out believing they have the luxury to prepare for a future engagement rather than an immediate assault. Using his speed and stealth as a lone element to split the defense and secure a safe LZ for Blu forces then immediately transitioning to denying the enemy the same. All the while, driving through the hostile front issuing fire orders and combat movements, without directly watching the roadway. Sending WARNOs of possible enemy ambush locations, before they can be established as effective fighting positions. While being hunted by enemy armor before assaulting the final objective, continuing to order indirect fire on enemy defensive positions which are still not able to be properly established.
You have described it well. This kind of maneuver especially works if you start to notice the enemy is better in 1:1 combat. It’s not easy, but before you take an objective you have to be immediately ready to send forces to the next objective to limit as much 1:1 combat possible. I think I mostly posted this because I did all this, personally, without dying. I do this maneuver a lot, but I’m not usually personally leading the charge… I’ll get recon to do it.
As a *true* field commander should. None of these paper pushers 5km behind lines listening to confused radio garbage. This man took his men's lives as seriously as his own.
For the airhead, my tip is to drop it in the small gardens on right of smdm church, kind of 70-80°. People can still push from 2 different roads, less risk of enemy overruning airhead and most important if you keep staying east eventually you don't have to run the open fields like you did but stick to tree line on the road east
I sometimes do that. my thought process of dropping it where I did was because I could defend it myself and I was quite sure they had no one there since Pierres was getting so much pressure. If the airhead failed, it was a distraction to get up the garrison. At the end, I ran through that open field toward The Fields because I knew I had to get there as fast as possible and it was likely no enemies were there yet.
What I don't think a lot of people will appreciate is how hard it can be driving (especially the Jeep, that fast) and looking at your map, and calling in stuff... I would have been in a ditch 👌
I really enjoy manual gear mechanics on games for the same reason: it brings depth and meaninfulness to fast travel systems that otherwise would be just “hold w for 40 seconds” or even 10 minutes in the case of foxhole logi gameplay.
Have you ever thought of testing your mettle in a more competitive environment? There are weekly competitive mixed matches that often look for commanders. Let me k ow if you're interested.

@@hyPe- I think he is talking about commanding in comp, not just comp. In TL comp I'm in the Infantry, got a few videos about that, including most recent.
That's the problem ... it's all about who spawns in the right place at the right time ... a garrison. And that works because the majority of players focus on the actual gameplay, which is displaced by it. You don't need to expand positions ... (The whole building system is more than superfluous and bumbling.), you don't need tactics. You just have to place a garrison fast enough in the right place and hope that your teammates will notice it and your majority will surprise the opponent or he will overrun in principle.
Thanks for the video. I’m level 5 commander and really starting to like it and I’m pretty decent, so wanted to watch some experienced guys in gameplay to get some pointers. Twice I’ve taken over when we were in the last objective in Warfare and was able to come back and win. Almost did it a 3rd time today but couldn’t get it done. Great game.
@@commandercrane1945 Yes, I have operated a couple rounds under your command. Normally I am AT, but you can hear me towards the end of the round as a squad lead of a recon squad (I was trying to stop their artillery guns)
It's the best when everything works(officers and commanders who knows what to do). And it's amongst the worst when there's no communication our cooperation. And it got bit of a learning curve. But I highly recommended it still. Those 1,5hour matches between two balanced good teams makes everything just awesome.

For all newcomer in HLL: This game wasnt won because of the commander, it was won because of the stupitity of the enemy, building not enough defensive garries, no enemy there to defend the rear. Your typical match against blueberries. Or in short: The entire enemy team ran off for "kills" = Lost game

As much as I appreciate the skill involved here, I also hate playing in games like this. It feels like a waste of time even if I'm on the winning team. Especially to burn this map as it's one of the more fun ones to play.

Commanders that drops airheads inside the point are the best and understood the game mechanics. in HLL people tends to run around too much instaed of getting streight in the point, which loses the element of surprise an airhead is supposed to give. Got criticized way too much in the past for doing it since sometimes it does get spotted and taken down.
That is because if you have two teams of good players, they would never build garries in the cap circle but 3 or 4 around the cap. That gives much stronger map control and will not make you loose after one precision strike on your garry. Only when you are steamrolling the enemy it works with the airhead or garry inside.
You should check this game out sometime. Every now and then it will have a free weekend if your are not wanting to buy just yet. I need to check out foxhole.
I actually always join the underdog team and try to destroy the stacked teams. This is an example. When you go against stacked teams, it is important to quickly capture the map. Avoid 1:1 combat as much as possible. You can see how good this team was by the fact they were capturing center point immediately after initial cap. They started to take church almost immediately too. They even started to take back the last sector until the precision strike took out their tank. Figured I’d point this out, many of my videos are me going against stacked teams.
I've had a few matches like this while playing commander. I stopped playing HLL mostly because it got tiring having to explain to all the SQLs how the game works almost every match. As I saw it, having a commander like this was more common than a commander having just one or two squads that knew how important building their own supplies and nodes is. When it worked, it felt great; but that became so rare I just gave up.
I really enjoyed hll early on, but as I spent more time with it I realised there were games that sadly did it better. The current Machine gun meta is just so life draining. Any guy with an MG can hold an entire flank because his gun doesn’t overheat and he has way to much ammo. It HLL took some tips from red orchestra it would he incredible currently it is just cod vanguard but your character is locked at jogging pace whilst neckbeards say “you trying carry 40kg of gear” you try watching band of brothers I don’t see them jogging across a fucking street
You have to as herding cats is frustrating when no one tries. I wish the overall tactical/strategic mindset of the community wasn't so re-tarded. They've been playing twitch shooters for so long that they are completely braindead: selective hearing, no logic, no sbf or situation awareness or how to operate as a squad. I need a clan haha.

The same as I and others did. The good commander is the one that makes the game enjoyable so everybody follow his strategy. Leading is a skill in your blood, there is no manual for that

Funny, but it gives boring matches and it often kills servers when you do two or three after eachother.
I've actually never seen it kill a server, it does make the enemy team keep changing. Eventually they get it together.
