Yep, I follow Zelda Williams on social media. She's acted in some small movies but mainly she brings up some good talking points. She did a podcast last year reading old Grimm's fairy tales.

Its a classic mistake, and pokes the biggest single controversy in the LoZ fanbase. Why after all this time and so many games in the franchise has Zelda not been the protagonist? Like we got the holder of the Triforce of Courage running around doing puzzles when the holder of the Triforce of Wisdom is RIGHT THERE.
There actually was a game with Zelda as the protagonist called Zelda the wand of gamalon. But the game was so bad that i think it scared people away. You can also play as Zelda in both of the L.O.Z. Hyrule warriors games.

Princess Zelda is notable because unlike a lot of "save the princess" characters she is actually quite proactive ends up helping Link throughout the games. She isn't just a helpless princess archetype! In some of the games she's a pirate captain, or she disguises herself as a desert ninja, or is doing an entire quest of her own while Link is up to his shenanigans. She helps you fight the final boss of the game a bunch too!
Ehhh in BOTW she's always whiny and telling Link to fuck off if she's not jealous or crying.. She's never wise despite having the Triforce of Wisdom lol.

BOTW Zelda is a nerd with anxiety and I will never understand the hate some people have for her. Her powers are to seal away Ganon, so logic tells us they can't awaken until Ganon is back, if theres nothing to seal away, you don't require the power yet. Unless theres actual dungeons again and theres a temple of light that only Zelda can enter, then sure that 30 minute temple, playing as Zelda would be okay. But fully playable Zelda, fuck no. There is an INCREDIBLE animated fan film called "Majora's Mask - Terrible Fate" that tells the origin story of the villain of The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (the creepiest zelda game... not scary. creepy.)

Zelda was basically spending a good 100 years holding the “Calamity Ganon” back, and the whole point of Link, the ponytail guy, is to defeat Ganon so Zelda can finally rest and so Hyrule won’t be completely destroyed again. The sword is called the Master Sword and it’s the only thing that kill Ganon

Even as someone who was into Nintendo and gaming in general for many years before it's announcement, I remember seeing the announcement and thinking "huh, they're really pushing this new controller for the Wii"
Might I add, this is indeed one of the best Zelda games to react to, and some of the things that stand out from this one (mostly for long time fans) is that, absolutely every single location that was shown on the first video can be traveled to, at any moment of the story, puzzles and dungeons can be solved at any given order and the pace of the game is all up to the player, this game broke a lot of barriers in that regard and is why I completed the main storyline about 4 times already, I just can't get tired of it. This is the game of green hat guy you first thought about, but in this one they added a bunch of clothing and the option to just not have a head piece of gear, but there is the green hat on the game to be acquired. The main character is Link xD (the chosen swordsman to wield the Master Sword), Zelda is the princess of the Hyrule kingdom and has inherited powers from the goddesses that created the world (as was explained on other games), but it is a common gag to call him Zelda and stuff like "what if Zelda was a woman? :O" The whole mystery about the second trailer is that the weird zombie we saw, might be the main antagonist, very mystified on the first game and we have no idea of where he came from, and with the development on the first game we might have a chance of discover more about him.
That weird zombie guy is almost certainly Ganondorf, probably the same reincarnation we saw in Twilight Princess. If I had to guess Ganon was trapped in that body by that arm thing and its been preventing him from being able to reincarnate into a physical form. Which is why calamity Ganon is a creature made out of the malice leaking from Ganondorf rather than a person or a Giant pig beast like he usually is.
Hey! If you're wanting another Zelda video, I recommend Majora's Mask: A Terrible Fate. It's about a game before breath of the wild, and you may be a little lost story wise, but the animation quality and composition is worth it. It's also fan made, and the studio that did it (Emberlab) had a bunch of money thrown at them for it, and is putting out a game soon called Kena: Bridge of Spirits. Check that trailer out too, it's quality stuff!
Basic information about the series. The princess is zelda, the hero is link, and the corpse was assumedly gannon. These three are the main characters of the series. They reincarnate throughout history due to two things. Zelda is essentially the mortal form of the goddess Hylia and Link is the chosen hero of Hylia. Gannon is the physical incarnation of the curse of the demon known as Demise which was “My hate will never fade and will follow your bloodline forever” given towards the first incarnation of link. The games have taken place all throughout the history of Hyrule so you usually dont see the same link and zelda in every game. The triangles you remember seeing are the pieces fo the triforce given to each reincarnation the triforce of wisdom to zelda, courage to link, and power to gannon. The basic plot of the game is that 100 years ago gannon attacked in the form of large serpent like spirit. He won. Link was put in stasis as zelda used her goddess magic to trap gannon with her in the castle. Link must recover his memories, divine weapons, and his sword, the master sword made specifically to destroy demise, so he can free zelda. For more information on the characters from this game I would recommend finding a video featuring the memories found in the game. If you want to know more about gannon he’s most popular incarnation gannondorf gave an impassioned speech at the end of wind waker. The most popular legend of zelda games are ocarina of time, a link between worlds, majoras mask, this one, windwaker, and twilight princess though others exist like skyward sword. Some information about the world the girl with the long red hair was a gerudo a race of people that are mostly female save one male born every 100 years that live in the gerudo dessert. The large person who pounded his fist together is a goron a race of rock people that live on a volcano. The bird people are the rito. The person you said had an interesting hat is a zora a fish person which had fins not a hat but fair observation. Link and zelda are hylians which are related to the shekian people who are also present in the trailer as the people with white hair. Other important creatures include fairies, koroks, kokiri, and twili which are all essentially a form of spiretly spirit type creature it is hard to describe.
@@Painocus she might? I don’t think it was ever specifically stated that she does nor do I remember the triforce being directly referenced save for symbolism. I think she summons a weak point on calamity gannon’s final form that appears to be the triforce but I’m not sure if it was just the triforce or an abstract goddess magic thing which might be where your getting that. She does attempt to get the blessing of knowledge or whatever it was referred to as on the frozen mountain top area but I don’t remember if they show her attempting to get the other blessing which also feels indicative of the triforce if she did get all three.
@@majesticleviathan3898 Iirc in the flashback/memory where she goes to face Ganon alone, when she raises her hand all three parts start glowing before it cuts away, not just the Wisdom one. Meanwhile you never see Link have the Courage one, which is unusual for a post-OoT game that deal with Ganon (and we obviously never see Ganon have Power either).
@@Painocus I would imagine it might be addressed in the sequel as it does sound like she does have all three. The theory that the triforce’s power is beginning to wane is floating around aswell so that might have something to do with it.

Did you see the Magic Sword on the original 8 bit Legend of Zelda? It's diagonal in the equipment box and because of 8 bit sprite issues it looks like it's made of squares. So... I found this to be a rather good description.

Hey Hannah! Your comparison to ferngully isn't actually that far off! Ganon is an ancient evil that is bound by the Hylian Royal family, not unlike how Hexxus is bound to that tree. From that family, all female descendants are named Zelda, and are taught the binding magic to keep Ganon contained. Link, the main ponytail character, is her traditional protector/savior/bodyguard, who you play as. Every Zelda has had a Link, the hero of legend, to either protect, avenge, or save her. Ganon is sometimes able to manifest as a single individual, or sometimes as more a force like we see in this game, that red partially-sentient mist which contaminates and corrupts. He still has a body, but it is not currently functional. It's actually the dried husk we see in the trailer you just watched for Breath of The Wild 2. But the residual energy of his malice, the red mist, is enough to destroy the kingdom all on its own. You should try and source a good story trailer for Breath of The Wild, because it's widely accepted as the best Zelda game so far developed, ever. Spoilers! Basically, 100 years ago, they were preparing for Ganon's return, building machines and defenses to fight him. But upon return, his power corrupted those machines, turning the whole arsenal against the kingdom of hyrule, destroying it. Those weird laser beam spider machines. The princess Zelda managed to keep Ganon himself contained in the palace with her magic, where she is trapped with him to this day (magic stasis powers, I guess). You, as Link, are injured grievously, but are transported to the central plateau on the game map, and placed in a healing temple which takes 100 years to fully heal you. Side effect, though, is that you can't remember anything, and you have to piece it all together as you play. Which is really just a convenient way to explain why the player doesn't know anything going into the game.
Zelda is the gold standard when it comes to immersion and taking you on an adventure. I've been playing since the the original Nintendo, where my cousin and i took turns sleeping and playing on the weekends. Zelda is truly exceptional, a trailer can't do the feeling justice once you actually play it.

I guess someone already told you this but you were right about the "square" sword as well. The first Zelda games were for consoles such as the SNES, and the big pixels made the sword look kinda made from squares!

Breath of The Wild was definitely a good suggestion by your friend to react to since it’s an all around amazing game, and has a large fan base too. I'm not a huge gamer. but I play the Zelda games allll the time. BOTW is one of my top fav. If your not huge into gaming but love music and an amazing storyline, I highly recommend this game!! love your videos!!!

I got a used WiiU back in the day for BOTW (I also replayed Twilight Princess HD on it) and a good friend gifted me his Switch that he never used just a few weeks ago in foresight of Skyward Sword HD and BOTW2. Also I'll always play a Mario game if I have the chance, finished Odyssey in the last 2 weeks :-D
in earlier games, the graphics are very low resolution 2D drawings called sprites, so yes, the sword is made of squares, called pixels, the same pixels that make up your computer screen if you look close.
The warrior dressed in green, his name is Link, the princess name is Zelda. You mentioned squares, they are not squares, they are triangles and are called the Triforce. This is a different version of the original story, but in the first game Ganon became all powerful by using the Triforce.

Each Legend of Zelda game is a reincarnation of the same story with new twists along the way. You play as Link (With the triforce of courage) the silent hero who must save princess Zelda (With the triforce of wisdom) from the evil Ganondorf (with the trifroce of power) who wants to combine all the triforce pieces for himself. He was also the evil Tim Curry guy in that last trailer. I think that indeed they should be friends instead... Also Link proves himself in trials with his courage and all that gets him the Mastersword so by able to defeat Ganon!
Please don't ask for the story. Not even us hardcore gamers can fully understand it yet. It's just a lot of reincarnation. BTW you're not completely wrong about the hat.
Zelda is the princess and is the decendent/reincarnation of the goddess Hyluria(spelling may be wrong) Link is the blonde man who's bloodline is blessed by the 3 goddesses of the world to be their champion whenever evil threatens the land. He uses the Master Sword, a holy weapon to slay evil which also holds the sleeping spirit of Fi, a companion of one of Links ancestors.
In the second clip, they built up the suspense to reveal the creepy character which is actually the main villain of the legend of zelda series, ganondorf who we haven’t seen yet in a while or in the first breath of the wild game

Might I add, this is indeed one of the best Zelda games to react to, and some of the things that stand out from this one (mostly for long time fans) is that, absolutely every single location that was shown on the first video can be traveled to, at any moment of the story, puzzles and dungeons can be solved at any given order and the pace of the game is all up to the player, this game broke a lot of barriers in that regard and is why I completed the main storyline about 4 times already, I just can't get tired of it.
This is the game of green hat guy you first thought about, but in this one they added a bunch of clothing and the option to just not have a head piece of gear, but there is the green hat on the game to be acquired.
The main character is Link xD (the chosen swordsman to wield the Master Sword), Zelda is the princess of the Hyrule kingdom and has inherited powers from the goddesses that created the world (as was explained on other games), but it is a common gag to call him Zelda and stuff like "what if Zelda was a woman? :O"
The whole mystery about the second trailer is that the weird zombie we saw, might be the main antagonist, very mystified on the first game and we have no idea of where he came from, and with the development on the first game we might have a chance of discover more about him.

That weird zombie guy is almost certainly Ganondorf, probably the same reincarnation we saw in Twilight Princess.
If I had to guess Ganon was trapped in that body by that arm thing and its been preventing him from being able to reincarnate into a physical form. Which is why calamity Ganon is a creature made out of the malice leaking from Ganondorf rather than a person or a Giant pig beast like he usually is.
In almost any other Zelda game, "guy with a hat" would have been accurate.

Hey! If you're wanting another Zelda video, I recommend Majora's Mask: A Terrible Fate. It's about a game before breath of the wild, and you may be a little lost story wise, but the animation quality and composition is worth it.
It's also fan made, and the studio that did it (Emberlab) had a bunch of money thrown at them for it, and is putting out a game soon called Kena: Bridge of Spirits. Check that trailer out too, it's quality stuff!
Can highly recommend this. A Terrible Fate is a treat to watch.

Basic information about the series. The princess is zelda, the hero is link, and the corpse was assumedly gannon. These three are the main characters of the series. They reincarnate throughout history due to two things. Zelda is essentially the mortal form of the goddess Hylia and Link is the chosen hero of Hylia. Gannon is the physical incarnation of the curse of the demon known as Demise which was “My hate will never fade and will follow your bloodline forever” given towards the first incarnation of link. The games have taken place all throughout the history of Hyrule so you usually dont see the same link and zelda in every game. The triangles you remember seeing are the pieces fo the triforce given to each reincarnation the triforce of wisdom to zelda, courage to link, and power to gannon.
The basic plot of the game is that 100 years ago gannon attacked in the form of large serpent like spirit. He won. Link was put in stasis as zelda used her goddess magic to trap gannon with her in the castle. Link must recover his memories, divine weapons, and his sword, the master sword made specifically to destroy demise, so he can free zelda.
For more information on the characters from this game I would recommend finding a video featuring the memories found in the game. If you want to know more about gannon he’s most popular incarnation gannondorf gave an impassioned speech at the end of wind waker.
The most popular legend of zelda games are ocarina of time, a link between worlds, majoras mask, this one, windwaker, and twilight princess though others exist like skyward sword.
Some information about the world the girl with the long red hair was a gerudo a race of people that are mostly female save one male born every 100 years that live in the gerudo dessert. The large person who pounded his fist together is a goron a race of rock people that live on a volcano. The bird people are the rito. The person you said had an interesting hat is a zora a fish person which had fins not a hat but fair observation. Link and zelda are hylians which are related to the shekian people who are also present in the trailer as the people with white hair. Other important creatures include fairies, koroks, kokiri, and twili which are all essentially a form of spiretly spirit type creature it is hard to describe.

@@Painocus she might? I don’t think it was ever specifically stated that she does nor do I remember the triforce being directly referenced save for symbolism. I think she summons a weak point on calamity gannon’s final form that appears to be the triforce but I’m not sure if it was just the triforce or an abstract goddess magic thing which might be where your getting that. She does attempt to get the blessing of knowledge or whatever it was referred to as on the frozen mountain top area but I don’t remember if they show her attempting to get the other blessing which also feels indicative of the triforce if she did get all three.
@@majesticleviathan3898 Iirc in the flashback/memory where she goes to face Ganon alone, when she raises her hand all three parts start glowing before it cuts away, not just the Wisdom one. Meanwhile you never see Link have the Courage one, which is unusual for a post-OoT game that deal with Ganon (and we obviously never see Ganon have Power either).
@@Painocus I would imagine it might be addressed in the sequel as it does sound like she does have all three. The theory that the triforce’s power is beginning to wane is floating around aswell so that might have something to do with it.

Did you see the Magic Sword on the original 8 bit Legend of Zelda? It's diagonal in the equipment box and because of 8 bit sprite issues it looks like it's made of squares. So... I found this to be a rather good description.

Ganon is an ancient evil that is bound by the Hylian Royal family, not unlike how Hexxus is bound to that tree.
From that family, all female descendants are named Zelda, and are taught the binding magic to keep Ganon contained.
Link, the main ponytail character, is her traditional protector/savior/bodyguard, who you play as.
Every Zelda has had a Link, the hero of legend, to either protect, avenge, or save her.
Ganon is sometimes able to manifest as a single individual, or sometimes as more a force like we see in this game, that red partially-sentient mist which contaminates and corrupts.
He still has a body, but it is not currently functional. It's actually the dried husk we see in the trailer you just watched for Breath of The Wild 2.
But the residual energy of his malice, the red mist, is enough to destroy the kingdom all on its own.
You should try and source a good story trailer for Breath of The Wild, because it's widely accepted as the best Zelda game so far developed, ever.

Basically, 100 years ago, they were preparing for Ganon's return, building machines and defenses to fight him. But upon return, his power corrupted those machines, turning the whole arsenal against the kingdom of hyrule, destroying it. Those weird laser beam spider machines.
The princess Zelda managed to keep Ganon himself contained in the palace with her magic, where she is trapped with him to this day (magic stasis powers, I guess).
You, as Link, are injured grievously, but are transported to the central plateau on the game map, and placed in a healing temple which takes 100 years to fully heal you. Side effect, though, is that you can't remember anything, and you have to piece it all together as you play. Which is really just a convenient way to explain why the player doesn't know anything going into the game.
Zelda is the gold standard when it comes to immersion and taking you on an adventure. I've been playing since the the original Nintendo, where my cousin and i took turns sleeping and playing on the weekends. Zelda is truly exceptional, a trailer can't do the feeling justice once you actually play it.

I guess someone already told you this but you were right about the "square" sword as well. The first Zelda games were for consoles such as the SNES, and the big pixels made the sword look kinda made from squares!

This kind of video is very cool as a gamer to watch how someone with almost zero gaming knowledge react to a trailer for a video game. Breath of The Wild was definitely a good suggestion by your friend to react to since it’s an all around amazing game, and has a large fan base too. I thought that it was interesting how you mentioned the character who had really long hair would have a hard time maintaining it. A lot of your reactions were logical for how the real world works. I'm not a huge gamer. but I play the Zelda games allll the time. BOTW is one of my top fav. If your not huge into gaming but love music and an amazing storyline, I highly recommend this game!! love your videos!!!

I got a used WiiU back in the day for BOTW (I also replayed Twilight Princess HD on it) and a good friend gifted me his Switch that he never used just a few weeks ago in foresight of Skyward Sword HD and BOTW2. Also I'll always play a Mario game if I have the chance, finished Odyssey in the last 2 weeks :-D
in earlier games, the graphics are very low resolution 2D drawings called sprites, so yes, the sword is made of squares, called pixels, the same pixels that make up your computer screen if you look close.

The warrior dressed in green, his name is Link, the princess name is Zelda. You mentioned squares, they are not squares, they are triangles and are called the Triforce. This is a different version of the original story, but in the first game Ganon became all powerful by using the Triforce.
Pretty sure the "squares" are just pixels and she was thinking of the original game.

You play as Link (With the triforce of courage) the silent hero who must save princess Zelda (With the triforce of wisdom) from the evil Ganondorf (with the trifroce of power) who wants to combine all the triforce pieces for himself. He was also the evil Tim Curry guy in that last trailer. I think that indeed they should be friends instead...
Also Link proves himself in trials with his courage and all that gets him the Mastersword so by able to defeat Ganon!

Link is the blonde man who's bloodline is blessed by the 3 goddesses of the world to be their champion whenever evil threatens the land.
He uses the Master Sword, a holy weapon to slay evil which also holds the sleeping spirit of Fi, a companion of one of Links ancestors.
In the second clip, they built up the suspense to reveal the creepy character which is actually the main villain of the legend of zelda series, ganondorf who we haven’t seen yet in a while or in the first breath of the wild game
