A lot of games try to be "movielike" and cinematic and fail miserably, or succeed and be boring as a result. the Batman Arkham games feel, to me, more like one of the better batman comic come to life. They're short, tightly written story arcs that don't shy away from the inherent weirdness of comics or try to chase after dull "realism". They're colorful and campy, yet dark and gothic. Balanced, in its own weird way.

  • @CaptainAmercia
    @CaptainAmercia 2 роки тому +60

Little mistake but Gotham Knight's is not part of the Arkhamverse instead it's a different universe where Bruce has "died" with zero connection to the Arkham games, like an Elseworlds story. The Arkhamverse includes Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, Arkham Origins, and finally Arkham Knight. The game Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League (2023) is also confirmed to take place within the Arkhamverse set after the events of Arkham Knight but taking place in Metropolis rather than Gotham City.
But yeah this games are great and heavily inspired by The Batman Animated Series with Arkham CIty and Arkham Knight having two of the best depictions of Gotham pulled right out of the animated series with those gothic art deco skyscrapers with yellow lights, blimps flying overhead, and overall a very cool timeless 1930s to 1970s look and feel with a mix of old and few tech like the Tim Burton movies.
Gotham Knights is it's own thing but from the developers (They actually worked on Arkham Origins) they've stated that each region of Gotham will visually different and take idea's from across comic's and films so one could look more Tim Burton while another part of Gotham could look more Joel Schumacher. I highly recommend the Arkham Knight ingame trailers as everything you watched was CGI created before the game's even revealed any gameplay or footage. Arkham Knight is from 2015 but still looks amazing, better looking than most 2022 games.

Just hear me out, I'm getting really sick of every Batman movie is taking inspiration from the 1986 4 issue Mini Series "The Dark Knight* by Frank Miller or "The Long Halloween* which the 2008 The Dark Knight was inspired by as well. Those stories while yes I like them. But there are so many other Batman stories you can be inspired by. Also Miller's Dark Knight story is what I like to call "DC's The Fountainhead" aka Ayne Rand's The Fountainhead.
F Anye Rand cuz her beliefs and ideals are basically capitalism mixed with holding grudges, survival of the fittest, only do good things when they benefit you not because they are good
F Frank Miller *When he wrote 300 and Sin City every story he made since than is basically 300 and Sin City* he also did Daredevil "Born Again* which is what Daredevil season 3 is based off of
2: Also the guy in origins with the skull mask is Roman Sionis aka Black Mask. He's basically a crime lord with a successful company that operates as a front.

For me its not the whole woke agenda, although it too has its faults. In regards to film and television that show comic book intellectual properties, its about fidelity of character. An example of this was the Harley Quinn film and its egregious portrayal of Cassandra Cain. In the film, she was a street urchin and pick pocket with an attitude and mouth on her. But in the comics she is a trained assassin with deep rooted mental and physical trauma brought about by her adopted father who trained/abused her. This trauma was so severe that for the longest time she was mute, deprived of speech and writing in her training, stunting her development. Batgirl and in turn Batman helped her re-acclimate to human interaction, showing her empathy and compassion she was deprived of. In time she becomes the second Batgirl. But no... lets make her a homeless pick pocket. Cassandra who? No one knows who that is...

    The Woke thing...
When Will Smith was casted for Dead Shot, people had mix feelings, but there wasnt a big backlash.
The difference is and was, that before... Changing a character's design from the comics was really rare, and people accepted it as rare occasions were the change might've been good.
But today, the changes are mostly done just to check the "Diversity" mark, so you can say your movie was diverse, thats what makes people really mad about those changes. Because they are not for the sake of the movie or the story being better, but just to make it Diverse, just to appeal to the Twiiter mob that kicks and screams if they dont see a non-white person in the screen all the time.
This hate procuced by the Woke Mob, created the Hate of the Anti-Wokers... Before it was really rare to see "Anti-Wokers" but today the Woke culture became toxic so another toxin was born out of its Toxicity, all the hate is wrong no matter the side you are... The problem with Diversity its when its forced and it just doesnt fit: AKA Black People on a North European Medieval Setting, IT DOESNT FIT.
It would be the same if there were White Egyptians in an Ancient Egypt movie, It wouldnt make fucking sense, Its the same shit of the church portraying Jesus as White, it was impossible for him to Be White... What Anti-Wokers want is their Entertainment to be as much as close to the original material AS POSSIBLE... what Wokers want is to change everything to create a False Diversity look and sell it like true diversity.
This applies to all sexuality diversification that has become a toxic in the industry too, they pushed it so much people hate it, like a spring, the more you push the bigger the blacklash..
I have a friend who is Transexual and all, waaaay before the Trans movement became the "Cool Kids" thing, and he (yes He) HATES ALL THIS WOKE SHIT, because he can see it destroyed years of actual work to not see transexuals as weird people or something, and now when someone says "Im Transgender" everyone just rolls their eyes, and thats because of the big "Woke Movement" that pushed their agenda too fucking much.

"Woke" culture is too often synonymous with "cancel" culture. I don't believe the problem with stories is being "woke" but forcing "woke", a story has to flow. When a story doesn't suffer from a change, for example changing Nick Fury skin color in the avengers MCU, I believe change is good and can possibly even be better. However too many story tellers in cinema today are forcing, a "woke" moment or even changing core story plots or peoples personality. People love ARCANE, even though it has aspects of "woke" culture in it, and I believe this is because the story itself doesn't suffer; if the story is bad, people will find a reason to admonish it and too often its is because something is "forced" in the story.
You can't force your readers, listeners, or watchers to feel something, you have to tell a good story first and foremost, and not let characters or the plot suffer from something and try to demand someone feel a certain way because of an issue. Politics forced in story telling can have the same result.

    • @elimgarak1617
      @elimgarak1617 2 роки тому +2

Right. The "anti-woke" sentiment pre-Batman likely consists of two parts - one part is fear that the "woke" agenda will destroy the story and their favorite characters. Many, many people hate what they perceive as the woke agenda has done to recent Star Wars, Star Trek, Dr. Who, and many other beloved franchises. The stories in those movies and shows are often terrible and incomprehensible because the writers are completely incompetent and stuff those shows to the brim with woke messages and characters, to the detriment of any theme or story structure. Many extremely liberal people hate some/most of the new Trek shows not because of the messages, but because of how bad the stories and newer characters are and how clumsily the messages are shoehorned into the stories. Older characters that people grew up with are often turned into caricatures of themselves (e.g. Han Solo is a deadbeat dad that left his wife to become once again a smuggler) seemingly to show newer and often woke characters to be superior or better.
The second part is likely that some people have an image or idea of what a character should look like. Catwoman in the 1992 animated series was a white blond woman. There are some people who can get extremely defensive about any perceived change to their idea of a character, especially if that character is part of their childhood and/or identity. They perceive it as an attack on themselves. I would like to think this is a very minor component of the "anti-woke" reactions. As windskin92 mentioned above, change can often be good. IMHO Samuel Jackson is a much better Nick Fury than David Hasselhof.

    • @Mercwithamouth101

Nick Fury wasn't changed to black because of the MCU. Nick Fury was rewritten as a black man back in 2002 for the Uitimates when they updated the Avengers for the 2000s. They chose to model Nick Fury off of Samuel L. Jackson. When they did Ironman want threw a stinger at the end they hired Samuel L Jackson to play the character inspired by him. So the MCU didn't change anything they just followed what the character was written as. And there were people bitch and moaned about that change back in 2002.
Be let's be honest there are people decry "woke" whether it effects the story or not. Some people just want shit to bitch about.

When it comes to character ethnicity in a movie/show vs the source material I dont particulary mind them changing it. The issue I have is when they take a characters name and basically nothing else from any of the source material..just why? It also bothers me that most of the people I've seen so adamantly for changing the ethnicity are the same people who get upset if a character who normally isn't gets made white..just seems like a bit of a double standard. To bottom line it just stick close to the source material but feel free to tweak minor things here and there aside from the story itself that is.

The Batman movie kind of has a problem cause the race thing wouldn't be as much of an issue if they didn't make it an issue by having Selina/Catwoman actually tell Batman, when the Riddler announces Bruce Wayne as his next target, that just being a member of the Wayne family Bruce is "getting what he deserves".
This version of Bruce Wayne is still pretty much a recluse that is rarely in public, he isn't running around acting like the pompous playboy he usually pretends to be.
And one point more or less calls out Batman as being "just like every other rich privileged white boy", because he is still trying to stop the Riddler's killings of corrupt Gotham City higher ups who happen to be rich white guys instead of helping her look for her friend/co-worker, even when he was looking for her since she was the only common connection he found between victims.

I believe the problem people have/are afraid of is that the will take a character from the main universe, say Batman, and just make them gay/bi/etc instead of just making an original character/variation. People hate, and rightfully so, when all there is to a character is that they’re gay/bi/etc.

Heavily recommend the in game trailers these give you a much better idea of the story of the games with Arkham Knight having some of the best. The Arkham games are by Rocksteady Studios who only created one other game before jumping into the Batman series that being Urban Chaos: Riot Response a FPS where you take control of a special unit who act as both Firemen and Police officers in a city that's fallen to chaos not that different to Gotham. it's a fun game but very unexpected for the creators of the Arkham series. Rocksteady did not make Origins as they were busy working on Arkham Knight (no one knew) which is why non of the voice cast returned for Origins. Instead WB Games Montréal worked on Origins who are now creating Gotham Knight in their own universe.
But funny enough Kevin Conroy the voice of Batman was asked at a panel if he was in the next Arkham game and he said "Has that been announced?" fan said yes and Kevin replied saying "Yes I am" leading to the fan saying "Arkham Origins?" which lead to Kevin saying "Arkham what?" pretty much giving away that he confirmed something he shouldn't have. Kevin wasn't in Origins instead Roger Craig Smith played Batman who did really well as a young Batman. This lead to WB calling out Kevin and pretty much saying he was out of line. The reason people complain about race swapping character is the reasoning it's done. These studios make it 100% clear that they didn't make the choices because those actors happened to be the best for the role. They made the choice because they had a checklist they wanted to fill out.
You've got to understand, it isn't just a single case of this kind of thing, either. It's nearly constant. They're always swapping characters for no reason other than to gain "woke points".
For example, there was a battlefield game where woke people complained there wasn't enough diversity on the axis side. You heard that right. They complained that the nazis didn't have enough diversity. So the company who made the game created black nazis and put them in game. No, I'm not joking.
There is an example of the woke failing to have things changed, though. The creator of Kingdom Come: Deliverance refused to "add more diversity" to a game set in Scandanavia during medieval times. The woke tried harassing him, but he still refused. The goal of the game was to be as realistic as possible. So the woke tried and failed to get the game cancelled and ended up just giving it more publicity which lead to more success.
What my point with all this is, is that if the race swapping wasn't being done for shallow purposes and at the rate it's being done now, most people wouldn't complain. But it's happening with nearly everything. And when it doesn't happen, the woke mob attacks. Try putting yourself in that kind of situation. Imagine we lived in a world where black characters were constantly being turned white for no reason other than to appease a mob of irrational people. How would you feel about it? Imagine it happened all the time. Almost every piece of fiction had it happen. Imagine that a bunch of your favorite characters, who happened to be black, were turned into a blue eyed, blonde haired Americans. Not just in movies or tv shows, but in comic books and video games. Would you be cool with it or would it start grating on you? Then imagine you get called a bigot for expressing the fact that you were getting tired of seeing it happen.
Is it really surprising that a lot of people's kneejerk reaction to things is what it is?
In case you're wondering, I'm Mexican American. (I was born in the US, but my parents immigrated from Mexico when they were kids.) I'm sick of seeing hollywood change a character just to fill a quota. I'm so sick of it. I'm of the opinion that if someone wants to diversify fiction, then they should create new characters, not race/gender/sexuality swap existing ones. Or in the case of the comic books: actually use some of their already diverse cast of characters. In fact, I find the idea of swapping characters to be insulting. It shows that the industry doesn't actually believe minority/gay/female characters can succeed on their own and need to ride the coattails of existing popular characters.

Batman doesn't kill, that is a fact. Although some comics made him do so, but this is not the standard. Yes, he'd beat you into a coma but won't kill you. It's two folds, but the main reason is that Batman is mentally unstable. He's on an edge, between dark and light, evil and good, and killing is the push that, for him, will start a domino effect of him "never stopping" and "never turning back." A push that will make him as bad as the bad guys. These are words he always used, and that's why his unbreakable code is that he does not kill. Moreover, he believes life is precious because people can change, he clings to that hope, even with people like Joker, who are beyond redemption, yet Batman has that hope that they can change.

Hugo Strange, though not having featured in any of the movies yet, was one of Batman's very first reoccuring villians.
Props to knowing that was Slade/Deathstroke from so far away 😄
And anti-woke doesn't necessarily mean they have a problem with portraying white characters with black actors. I think Gordon's casting was absolutely inspired and can't wait to see him back in the sequel. Absolutely loved how he played the relationship between Gordon and Batman.
Love your Batman VR commentary, it's hilarious and I am here for it.
The "talon" has to do with the Court of Owls, a secret society that only got introduced as villians in the comics in the last 10 years or so. New villians don't always stick but these guys were received so well that i wouldn't be surprised if they show up in new Batman movies.

The reason people get riled up about about a character changing race is because nowadays most of the time it’s completely forced in to the point where the integrity of the character is changed. I didn’t like Will Smith as Deadshot not because he’s black but because his face is always visible and he got turned into the typical Will Smith trope of being a loving and devoted father filled with past regrets. Even in the Batman they couldn’t help but bring the “privileged white boy” trope in where it had no part on this version of Bruce Wayne who is more of a recluse than anything. When fans see this type of stuff where it doesn’t fit the narrative or it changes the source material for some inclusivity points, they’re going to get pissed.

The reason why most people complain about the "woke" stuff like you said is because for the "woke" people it is ok for a person of color to portray a character who was originally white but not the other way around. I personally do not give a fuck what race the person is as long as you are not changing the characters identity from what I know and love about the character by making the fact that you have a different ethnic person portraying them. I understand in different parts of the world culture changes how things are done but just like when they wrote in the first Black man being Green lantern as John Stewert it did not matter because he was a different character then Hal Jordan which allowed him to be his own Green Lantern. But heaven forbid they ever killed off whoever was the Black panther and then put a new white man as the role to try to carry on the mantle.

Oh yeah Strange is a very classic Batman first appearing in Detective Comics #36 (February 1940). One of the best thing's about the Arkham games is they can highlight a bunch of different villains and character's that you'd never see in film unless the writers have the balls to go with someone besides the Joker. This is also true for the TV shows but throughout the games you'll find Character bio's of characters in the game so you can read up on them and also characters not in the game such as Twoface who wasn't in Arkham Asylum but you could find his cell with a Vote Dent poster which would unlock his Bio. Spider-Man PS4 also has this where if you're unaware of a character you can just look at their bio and see everything about them.

Was going to talk about the "controversy" of some of her character's lines, but you still haven't seen the movie, so I will just say that when Anne Hathaway played Catwoman, she had similar lines (they're both playing the same character so it isn't a spoiler to say they have similarities), without anywhere near the same amount of negativity aimed at her.

I would like to add my input into anti woke "culture" please excuse my English I will try to articulate my thoughts to the best of my abilities and I apologize in advance for the long comment.
As an African woman who doesn't live any western country the social issues that exist in north America(NA) are unique to that location just as the social issues we have no resemblance to NA. However, entertainment such as music, book, comics movies and games can be quite universal.
when producers of movies or shows for example decide to adapt a well established franchise they fail to take into account preexisting critics, fans who have consumed the source material and raised it to the level of popularity that afforded them the chance to adapt it in the first place. for example, as a witcher fan, I was surprised for the need to race change Fringilla, without spoiling, in the witcher world as the real European kingdoms it was based on royal families and nobility were related in some capacity and some were revealed in the books. This knowledge made viewing the show quite bizarre. Stepping away from NA I and many overseas viewers black or otherwise saw it as forced diversity specially after being explained by the producer that is was a diversity casting. It's not being black that is a political statement more like being made into a political statement then told that your criticism is malignant in nature when it makes no sense and there are many more examples
personally, being woke or anti woke and cultural appropriation is a foreign concept to most people outside of NA like . we had a culture day at our collage and a Canadian white woman once asked me if it was alright for her to wear our ethnic clothing and head accessories and confirmed multiple times if it was acceptable. she then explained to me cultural appropriation or what I believed it transformed to over the years. I believe that some online news outlets and corporations that try to create online arguments for clicks.
I think I may have side tracked for a bit ,there are so many such examples but I tried to keep it concise and spacing paragraphs to make it easier to read and absorb :)
EDIT: we'll always be friends instead!

about your point you made 6:50 about being black is a political statement.
    no, it isn't.
what annoys people specifically about it, is not the black person, but the fact that a traditional white character is casted black.
I mean if casting white characters as black or asian or whatever, then people shouldn't complain if as black character gets whitewashed, right?
I mean imagine they turned black panther from marvel comics into a white person.
everyone would be pissed. not just black people, everyone.
so it's about respecting the source material.
I personally didn't really care too much about the fact that catwoman and gordon were turned black. I think both of them made a good job as their roles, but I would have preferred them to be white like they are depicted in the main universe.
edit: another point. the problem why people don't like diversity is because it's about making white people less frequent in media.
it's always a white character that gets gender-swapped or race swapped. rarely the other way around.

    • @HannaHsOverInvested
      @HannaHsOverInvested  2 роки тому

The black panther argument holds no water if for no other reason than part of his character is that he is black. Part of Superman's character is not that he is white. Part of Batman's character is not that he is white. Part of commissioner Gordon or Catwoman or any other character that has been cast as a person of colour is not that they are white.
Have they been white in the past? Yes. In their original conception, have they been white? Sure. But their race is not part of their character. Black panther being black is part of his character. It is not at all the same thing.

    • @DatAsianGuy
      @DatAsianGuy 2 роки тому +2

      @@HannaHsOverInvested
      eh, no.
as someone who knows the comics.
a big factor in the black panther story is that anyone in theory can inherit the mantle of black panther. the black panther and the king aren't the same thing. the king by default becomes black panther, but he can also lose the title.
they have a ritual combat where ANYONE can participate.
so the only story element they would have to explain is how a white man or white people in general would live in wakanda and probably be citizens there.
meaning that if black panther would be defeated in ritual combat by a white man or for that matter anyone who isn't black, we could easily justify having a white, asian or hispanic character.
but let's just go with your explanation, that because black panther is from africa and his whole thing is he comes from an african culture, we cannot touch him, okay.
      then how about:
Luke Cage? Black Spider? Green Lantern John Stewart? Storm from the X-Men? Al Simmons aka. Spawn?
These are a few examples of black characters, none of which from what I have seen have a particularly strong reason to be black. would you agree then we could change their skincolor to white, asian, hispanic, etc?
We could also pick deadshot. because it's funny they hired will smith as his actor and turned him black... considering that in most depictions that I am familiar with he was depicted as hispanic.
I hope you agree, or else I can't take this any other way than you being really hypocritical and cherry picking when characters are allowed to.
      p.s
you could also address the other points I mentioned, but you didn't.

Changing a character's ethnicity simply for the sake of brownie points with the "woke" community is what makes people hate woke culture. There's nothing wrong with changing a character's ethnicity or traits if it's done with respect to the character.
Take the new amazon Lord of the Rings show. Tolkien wrote pages upon pages of appendices and history specifically about the traits of all the peoples of his world. But instead of bringing in new characters from far off kingdoms (that we KNOW EXIST and that have really interesting cultures and potential stories), they could be changing the core fundamentals of the world just to satisfy the diversity checkmark for the twitter hordes.
One of the elves introduced is a type of elf known as a Silvan elf. Legolas' people. Their people once lived much farther to the east. It is not at all unbelievable that this person is either a descendant of a darker skinned mother/father, or even just long lived enough to have been born farther to the east. This is a very good explanation for why there would be a dark skinned and dark haired Silvan elf.
A bad character change would be like making Galadriel black, even though she literally was literally born before races with darker skin colours (Men) were even created by the God of Middle Earth.
Middle Earth and the rest of Tolkien's world is pretty much just copy-pasted from our world. Middle Earth is an analogue for Europe. Meaning that most of the people in it are what we would crowd into a simple classification known as white. Fair skinned with varying shades of hair (elves have very specific colours of hair depending on what people they belong to.)
tl;dr, Middle Earth is Europe. Europe is predominantly what most know as "white". There should be no changing of the core structures and history of the world to fit a woke diversity agenda. Outliers are completely fine if they can be explained with respect to the source material.

First experience: went to an actual cinema, caught COVID from the heavy breather next to me, then I proceeded to spread that to our kids over the next week or so, because sharing is caring…? Loud teenagers in the back put me off. Also expected the film to be a bit more noir-ish but didn’t expect it to be way less action. Didn’t even finish the film because our daughter felt homesick and needed to go home from the grandparents who were babysitting at the time. Thereafter I claimed CRSB and CRCB for those weeks because the Canadian government is nice like that.
Second experience: downloaded Crave, put on headphones and watched it on my monitor. Didn’t catch COVID and also had a distinct lack of teenagers constantly. Lots more legroom at home. Able to pause the film when getting some dry roasted. Put on subtitles a couple of times when I got confused about what was said. Turned off subtitles and rewound as to not detract from the overall experience which INCLUDED THE BATMOBILE FIRING UP OVER HEADPHONES PHWOOOAAR!!! Had an awesome time. Didn’t need to phone the Canadian Revenue Agency and be put on hold for 40 minutes. From now on, streaming is the way to go.

Depending on the timeline and/or universe, Batman may or may not kill, but he pretty much always maim's someone.
On topic now. The Arkham games have a pretty good comic storyline going for them. There are some issues, I don't remember since it's been so long, but the pros far outweigh the cons.

You should give some of the Stellaris dlc trailers a watch. Most of them don’t show actual gameplay instead it’s a lot of cinematic worldbuilding. They’re relatively short but I would definitely recommend the Apocalypse, Federations, both Nemesis trailers and the brand new Overlord trailer for the update releasing tomorrow above the rest.

There's close to 200 comments so I think this will probably be buried but I'll she'd some light regarding why people are upset with the casting.
    It's because people are tired.
There are some which are closed minded and are full of hatred and I'd wager that's a minority.
The vast majority of people just want to enjoy the story for what it is without the heavy handed politics and representation that is forced into movies, shows, games, comics, etc.
The focus has shifted away from telling a story and turned into how many diversities can we shoehorn into this project. How can the story reflect the current political and sociological message and it's as hollow as they come.
So you've got people arguing about why we don't have a batman that's gender queer, Latino, or plus sized when none of those things are important to the plot or character.
Now, I'm a biracial angel so I can speak up against this but if you are a white straight man and you voice this in any criticism then you're label is that of an ist or a bigot.
Can't imagine how frustrating that'd be but if I was to try it'd say it'd be like giving Tom Hanks the role of Black Panther or Wonder Woman to Martin Lawrence then calling the fans idiots for not being able to enjoy the new direction.
Hope that helps. I just miss the days where cool stories and characters were a thing. I don't need to know the genders of the dragons of middle earth. Just give me a good original story.
I'll check out your book next time I am out. You've got a lot of charisma which I hope shows off in your writing.
Keep doing your thing, stay safe and take care.

I don't think the anti-woke people have a problem with black people being in Hollywood movies. They have a problem with iconic white characters being played by black actors. I'm pretty sure the same anti-woke people would get upset if Blade was suddenly cast as a white guy... And people in general don't like when things they like change for what they perceive as no good reason. I don't know if people had a problem with Harvey Dent in the old Batman movies, but there was a big backlash about Michael Keaton playing Bruce Wayne for example. And I'm personally still not a fan of how they portrayed Commissioner Gordon in those movies, because of how different he is from the iconic version of the character.

Being “Anti Woke” isn’t just about race.
But black washing and white washing should be treated equal, like we all are.
And that’s still Bly part of being “anti woke” to me

Do people not remember when Eartha Kit (or Kitt, I can't remember the spelling) was Catwoman? I loved The Batman. There is a recent comic that continues Billy Dee Williams into Two-Face.

batman does not kill people in these games canonically (but he definitely does) for example canonically you don't run people over with the bat mobile, if they contact it's surface it just stuns them at a very high voltage before they are harmlessly pushed away by the car moving at 200km/h, because you know, delivering a high voltage shock to someone is going to make getting hit by the car safer.

The dumb part of "woke" cinema is that it's self cannibalistic... We don't need for characters to be turned non-caucasic because there already are extremely valid non-caucasic characters that are being ignored because it's safer to go with the same dozen famous names that keep coming out in movie, sometimes fo 50 years or more.
And the part about cannibalistic? Many times are characters already being part of minorities are the ones that get racebent.
Mary Jane played by Zendaya? She's a pale redhead with green eyes and freckles, she's Irish.
Black Domino with an afro? She could have been an Albino OR Misty Knight.
Deadshot played by Will Smith? Deadhot is hispanic... Could have been a Mexican.
Oh, and the whole MCU Spiderman... yeah... Woke culture didn't realize that disney whitewashed the main character: asian roommate, non-caucasic love interest, young mother-figure... It should have been Miles Morales and NO WOKE PERSON REALIZED THAT!
I stand my point, inclusion is great, woke culture is dumb.
Also... "Wokism" gets used way too often as an excuse when a film flops... "Ghostbusters" and "Charlie's Angels" didn't flop because patriarchy is scared of female strong charactes, they flopped because they were god-awful movies, but they're getting away with it because "woke".
Want a proof? Have you heard anyone complain about Wonder Woman and Ripley?
    Didn't think so.

Ethnicity doesn’t matter necessarily I think it’s more just trying to stay as faithful as possible. Cat woman has been portrayed as a black woman a lot more in recent history so not sure why anyone’s still up about that. But like take the new Percy Jackson show I believe the girl playing Annabeth will do a great job in the role however when you have a character being described as basically a California white girl with blond hair and a sun tan it feels like they’re playing another character or it’s harder to be like “these are the same character”

I think there is a kind of confusion in an upcoming suicide squad game because it continues the Arkham series of the Batman games but since dead shot in the upcoming game will be black and in the Arkham games dead shot is portrayed to be white there’s confusion on how it ties to the rest of the Arkham games.

It was Jason Todd who was a robin once but ultimately abandoned the teachings of batman because of a whole insanely good torture storyline i wont go down but anyway, he became the red hood. A killer with enhanced strength and the skills of batman himself who hunts down evil and puts a bullet in it

Whoa, hold your fire, Hannah! 😲Billy Dee Williams played Harvey in the Tim Burton Batman film from the 90s! the big argument you're referring to, for me, started in 2017! Now that I got that out of the way, I'm sorry for my abrasiveness!
For his origins, WB and DC usually draw from Frank Miller's "Batman: Year One," and during that time, Brucie was known to be a little brutal.
And oh joy! The Court of the freaking Owls, again! 😠

The video you watched wasn’t in order, so it’s hard to understand.
The games go like this in chronological order; Arkham Origins, Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, then Arkham Knight. But their release order was different, it’s Asylum, first, then City, Origins, and then Knight.
Also, Gotham Knight isn’t related to the Arkham games

Facts for the day about The Batman:
    1. Hugo Strange from Arkham City trailer was the potential to become Batman's archnemesis before they had an idea from the 1928 film "man who laughs" that inspired the joker. Batman #1 (1940) was Joker first appearance in comics. Hugo Strange was a psychiatrist and doctor who appeared in one comic during 50s to create a "Resident Evil" (zombies) before it was even concept especially the second game.
    2. No Killing rule is only in Nolan's Batman trilogy never been mention before in the comics only during Silver age when Comics had to be children-friendly- due to the Comic Authority code - that worst time to be comic book fan. Bronze age (1970-1985 and modern age(1986- now) and Golden age (1938-1956)- Batman did use guns and had really awful puns that was only in golden age.
    3. Martial arts that Batman is trained for can injure people so killing rule is a joke. Just for the classification for the films. Come on have you watched UFC. Seriously!!!
    4. Hugo Strange was the first villain from Batman's rogue gallery to identify the alias of batman during the 70 or 80s I can't remember exactly the time but there is a comic where Hugo discovers Batman's secrets.
    5. The Film of The Batman is good. I am not going to ruin it for anyone but Batmobile during the 70-80s from comics was a muscle car especially in first appearance of Jason Todd. Death of the family : where Jason Todd's death was up to the audience should he live or die? I have the comic on my shelf that was weird but cool concept for cliffhangers at the time.
    6. Superman was a terrible during silver age until Alan Moore saved Superman twice in "what happened to The man of tomorrow" and "The man that has everything", John Byrne's Man of Steel reinvented the Superman that we see today it wasn't that film from '78. Man of Steel by Zack Snyder has a lot of inspiration from John Byrne Comic book run with Kryptonians also the world of Krypton and Lex Luthor (outfit in ZSJL and expensive boat).
This from memory of DC authorised Superman and Batman encyclopedia that I read all-time until the horrible flood destoyed so I have to see Amazon or somewhere else has it.
