poor Willow barking at you asking you to stop and go get her ball, and it was cute although a bit sad the way she got up on her back legs looking back down the canal at her ball, my heart went out for her losing her favourite toy

What's happening at 12:11? At first glance, I thought they were dumping something unmentionable into the canal, then realized it looked more like water being pumped from the canal onto the land.

Hi guys. Thank you for sharing. It was a bit scary seeing the boat go past with no helmsman, I thought it was going to go straight into the moored boat a few yards ahead. Glad to see it was manned after all (phew). Take care and stay safe. ATB.⚓🛥️⛵

The canals are falling to bits, just like everything else that the Tories meddled with. The old British waterways would never have let the canals get into such a state as what they are now. They actually employed people rather than expect him to do it on the cheap by people volunteering. Volunteers, unfortunately, can’t be used to clear, dangerous landslips like on your vlog That said I enjoyed your vlog😊

It took me a few seconds to work out what you were talking about, there. The Wrekin is actually pronounced as Wreekin. Oh, by the way, stop dissing Shropshire's only mountain, 'hills', I ask you. The Wrekin's summit is at some 1335ft (407 metres) which qualifies it as a mountain. To give you a story about the Wrekin - There is an old RAF base, some 15 miles from the Wrekin that was called High Ercall (pronounced High Arcall, btw) and during WWII, this housed an American unit. The Americans did not like the Wrekin as it was seemily disturbing their aircrews on take off. They applied to the authorities to have the top removed. The Shropshire Authorities were horrified because this action would remove the only mountain that Shropshire has. Their argument and, if true, direct insult to the abilities (or lack thereof) of the Yanks went along the lines of, "There is something seriously wrong if your pilots are unable to attain 1000 ft in 15 miles. No RAF pilot would have an issue with that task." This, apparently was enough tp prevent the removal of the mountain top so that you, today, can admire it from your lovely boat. Associated with the Wrekin and part of the same chain, if you will, is Haughmond Hill, a little way out of Shrewsbury (pronounced Shrowsbury - and I will die on this - er - hill). There are some great marked and graded trails through the woods that cover this hill (it actually is a hill) and it offers, in places some great viewsd over the Severn Valley. I have walked many miles over these and would recommend them for a pleasant afternoon's exercise. Of course, you can still go for a walk up the mountain, too!
Ima bit taken aback at how little simple maintenance tasks to the canal or towpath narrow boaters refuse to do. A simple chainsaws (battery operated) could have cleared the path with 15 minutes work. Narrow boat operators from what I’ve seen are lazy
That tow path was particularly bad tbf the landslide in a couple of places was about three foot higher than the original towpath. As for the overgrown towpath, you couldnt moor along it so wouldnt have been able to get to most parts, but yes narrowboat operators could do more
hi just to let you know that you mispronounced THE WREKIN, the way you pronounced it was as if there was the letter O instead of the I, when you pronounce this name you pronounce it as if its spelt with a double EE just like the word week but with the 3 additional letters added minus 1 of the E's,
Just so you know, the Wrekin is pronounced 'reekin'. There's a west Midlands saying "all around the Wrekin" meaning to take the long way round. Christian Bale's character says it in the film Le Mans 66.

What's happening at 12:11? At first glance, I thought they were dumping something unmentionable into the canal, then realized it looked more like water being pumped from the canal onto the land.
Seen it a few times now; the farmers pay to pump water from the canal into their fields. They do it for hours, one mooring they did it all night.
