- In this Updated Kamisato Ayato guide for version 4.2, I’ll go over a basic kit explanation, his playstyle, whether you should pull for him, his best artifact sets, you stats you should build for, weapons, and new teams with Furina, and lastly constellations. This guide is made for the 4.2 Ayato Rerun, so it includes new teams with Furina, new artifact sets such as Nymph’s dream and marechausse hunter, new weapons added such as Wolf-Fang and Finale of the Deep.

Ayato is good, I’d recommend him to newer players for all the roles he can fit in. There’s a few negatives that I think are important to mention regarding that though:
-Ayato is great in international/vape teams but won’t outdo Childe’s application
-Ayato’s AOE makes him a great hyperbloom or supercharge applier but won’t beat Nilou/Kokomi
-Ayato’s raw DMG output is solid but is now also beaten by Nuev
-Though Ayato’s ult has quadratic scaling in Crowd Controlled settings it generally won’t be more useful than Yelan’s/Xingquos ult 90% of the time
He’s almost the Swiss Army knife of hydro, not the best at being a specific tool but can do everything. Solid FTP swords are very hard to come by anymore as well. However he works great with the other hydro’s covering any weaknesses they might have and is very flexible for teams.

@@Hencid Not wrong at all. Look up best teams for Nilou and Kokomi. GenshinGG is a good spot for people who don't understand the game quite yet. Their best teams that include bloom, hyperbloom and supercharge do not include Ayato and put out a lot more DPS than a team trying to fit Ayato in. Otherwise Ayato would be the S tier, not them, and there's a lot of math/testing done to back this up. Doesn't mean he wont work with them or replace them, but wont fit the specific role best. I understand if you're upset he's not BiS, but getting him is still like getting one 5-star that fits 3-4 hydro character roles.
During Sumeru I was finally at a point where I was able to get a hyrdo 5-star. Xingqiu was wanted on every team I had. Basically my main goal was replacing his hydro application. I was deciding between Yelan (who has been on my wish list since she came out), Ayato, and Kokomi. I went Ayato and have zero regrets. Poor yelan just got pushed back again since I decided to grab Neuvillette since I pull every archon and he pairs so well with furina. I have 144.7% energy recharge on Ayato use him on my main team as a solo hydro and have no issues: Nahida, kuki, ayato, Zhongli. The Zhongli spot obviously can be flexed out. Neuvillette or Yelan are not substitutes on that team. Ayato's aoe is absurd and he has off-field application as well. His playstyle is also really satisfying to me. Kind of a hit or miss playstyle but if you like it, you won't regret pulling him.
Ayato is a pretty good pick for a 1st, 2nd or 3rd 5-star hydro pick. He falls off a bit after that because he's a jack of all master of none. He's still my favourite driver in Nilou teams (Nilou, Ayato, Nahida and flex). The mono hydro XQ, Ayato core is decent. Lots of interruption resistance and all the application you'll ever need. For hydro units my advice for new players would be go for the units in the order
1. Furina
2. Ayato (If you lost your 50/50 to Jean)
3. Yelan/Kokomi
4. Yelan/Kokomi
5. Nilou
6. Nuevilette
7. Childe
(hint I still don't have a Childe and the Bennet, Xianglin core is in so much demand I can't see myself wishing for him any time soon)
You may ask why is Nuevilette so low it's because he doesn't have a lot of application and needs a well-invested and played team to be optimal. Speaking from my experience with him. In those scenarios though he easily out performs Ayato.
Yeah I agree, I originally pulled him since he looked cool and I don't regret it since.
@@magiclover9346 I got Neuvillette because I knew I was pulling for furina (I pull for all the archons). He pairs really well with her. I just group them in my mind in terms of what you are looking for. Ayato and Kokomi are going to be good options for people who need hydro application. I'd agree with Ayato being a master of none but pretty damn decent at everything. Also a fun playstyle for me.
Ayato almost never needs ER since his dmg is mostly jn his skill not his burst

Yeah I'm very much looking forward to 1,000. It's been crazy, I honestly never expected my channel to grow like this and when I first started I thought I was just going to throw it away after a month. Again thank you for being there, really encouraged me to continue. I hope you also get to 1,000 before the end of the year.
Looking forward to pulling for him! I dunno about anyone else but I'm having some struggles deciding on the 4th slot for his bloom teams. I know the first two are Ayato, Nahida, followed by either Thoma/Kuki or should I get lucky on her next banner Raiden. But I don't know if I should run a double hydro with someone like Barbra till I can get kokomi or double dendro with someone like yaoyao or kirara since I can't seem to find out which resonance is preferable on him. I would usually advice you to run Kazuha in your last spot to swirl hydro if possible, otherwise go for xingqui for your last spot. You don't really need healing if you level kuki's talents, but go just for which ever character is free to use and not in the other team, it's a flex spot after all.
@MistsplitterReforged yeah that's what's led to analysis paralysis since I already use xingque in my diluc vape team (skipped yelan TWICE for up coming banners) and only have sucrose to reliably swirl (lost 50/50 last kazuha banner) so it's a bit of a toss up but I do have the tried and true zhongli so I'll keep looking as he regains popularity on banner day.

The difference is nothing, so use whichever set has better sub stats for you.
Fischl + Beidou would make a good hyperbloom with Ayato and Nahida? I dont have Kuki
Hyperbloom is generally just very strong even without Kuki, you would be fine with either units.

What about this team ayato , mika , kazuha and furina ... mika will increase attack speed for ayato and is a decent healer for furina ...

18% comparing with C5. It's 78% if you compare with C0.
what is better? Ayato c0, dendro mc, EM raiden, kazuha or Wrio C1, dendro mc, em raiden, xinquio?
Honestly, Ayato + Kuki + Dendro MC + Flex has to probably be the easiest way for low-budget teams for new players to enter top-tier DPS hyper blooms. Easy to upgrade to Raiden & Nahida as well. Kazuha wont be able to swirl the dendro in an AOE scenario, but can still group enemies or be substituted for other built characters. Wrio will work better in a freeze team that doesn't need Ayato to perform best.

Ayato kuki yaoyao dendro mc both of ayatos skill and burst will be in full use with this team comp you dont even need a high ER for this because you can rotate using mc skill yaoyao skill kuki skill ayato skill as an opener if you dont have ur burst up and if u have ur burst up u can go ayato burst MC burst skill kuki skill yaoyao burst and hop around with yaoyao onfield while her burst is up

I'd personally save up for a jade cutter, which can be used more universally.
It's a good weapon, but I agree with @jackrabbit1704 if you want a good 5 star weapon that can work on many characters go for Mistsplitter. only pull only weapon banners if your okay with getting the second weapon.

thats weird i make ez 36 Abyss with him 🤨 maybe team issue or skill issue? I mean, this isn't neuvi where you just have to press a button and you can eat something while you're at it 😅(nofront against neuvi i also own him, but I find his playing style very boring)

@@impostorsyndrome1350 fr?😅 I don't know I clear it with ayato and before that it was diluc. Maybe your team is bad? I've never had any problems with the game, just like my friends, so I can't quite understand it.

Only the latter is correct. This guide was completely written by myself. either way, it is practically impossible to get an Ai to test a character out and write a guide on them to this level of depth.
This guide makes me want to throw Nilou away and pull for Ayato instead😭

Honestly go for Nilou, I find her much more fun to play. Between the two of them, Nilou bloom is stronger if the abyss has AoE content.

for onfield ayato with a second hydro you can run 0 er if you want, 120% ideally but not necessary
150% is just for burst support
No actually, my Ayato in all showcases is running 116% ER. I added a lot of ER for that clip only to show that you need ER, for energy recharge requirements I said 150% a general target and even less depending on your team. Ayato is a great hydro enabler so having high ER to consistently burst is not bad at all.

ayato dmg is totally solid with great dolphin sclaing, that considering him being versatile hydro is equal to a c2 raiden in terms of value.
so no please don't spread misinfo, 120% is the right ammount to aim for for who want to play ayato as he was intended( onfield )
ayato is overall basically a balanced version of neuvillette and as such is worth reviewing it with more care instead of just shooting random numbers thatwill lead to people having a bad experience with ayato.
