Some Ayato tips from tests (both my own and not): 1. Echoes, Heart of depths and Glad are almost tied in terms of damage. However, Echoes relies on rng and Glad only buffs his normals, so I personally prefer HoD. Atk/hydro/crit. 2. DON'T level his normal attacks. They don't affect his slashes. 3. Ayato/Xiangling is meh. Neither provides consistent application for the other. 4. Electrocharged is really good. I tried Raiden/Fischl/Bennett, Raiden/Fischl/Jean and Fischl/Kazuha/Bennett. All very good. 5. There's also freeze. You can use him with his sister, Ganyu, Kaeya or Rosaria, plus Kazuha and Diona. 6. To vape with Ayato, you can try Sunfire, with Jean, Bennett and Kazuha or Yunjin. Basically: Ayato Q, swirl hydro, Bennett Q, Jean Q and then E with Ayato. 7. Yunjin's quite good for him if you have good er on her. 8. 150% er seems like a good amount. He needs less with Raiden and more with freeze.
Best way to showcase Ayato would be running him with Taser or Freeze Comp in dungeons or abyss floors with large group of mobs to see all this many satisfying numbers on screen at the same time. This usual Bennett Zhongli showcase on Masanori doesn't make him justice, honestly, he is not a single target dps like Yoimiya or Hu Tao. He is good for aoe scenarios with sub dpses in kinda quickswap teams: Beidou, Fischl, Rosaria, Ganyu, Kaeya, Ayaka, Raiden, Venti, Kazuha, Jean, Yunjin. For vape with Xiangling just use Childe.
Right? I've seen people not liking him. But I just took him through the entire Chasm with me and it's the most fun I've had in a while. Also in JP voice he giggles when he opens his glider so there's that.
The fact that ayato drinks boba from what looks to be a plastic cup is just so amusing to see and so out of place for the medievil, historic fantasy theme of genshin. Cant wait for the god mode showcase!

My recommendation would be to try a permafrost or taser team because right now there’s a lot of diverse opinions on his best team so we can’t say for sure a vap team is his best. I think Xiangling causes the vaps and that’s why he isn’t doing a whole lot of damage, you can also try swirl support like Kazuha or Sucrose with Bennett and Yun Jin, that team could also work really well, specially with Haran Geppaku Futsu and the new echoes of an offering artifact set. Maybe a hydro applier burst dps/support could work as well, with noblesse or heart of depth
2:22 The reason they didn't do that is cause the clone no longer taunts so there are times where the clone wouldn't hit anyone until it explodes at the end which wouldn't really help you then.
btw, I'm not sure you realise it or not later on (I'm still at the point where you pick artis), but his NA is not actually important for his E skill - so skill and burst have the priority.
My brain exploded when I saw Moga's Ayato do 700 DMG with the burst because My Ayato is crap(I forgot his talent books so I haven't leveled his talents at all) but my Ayato's burst does 1k - 5k and his skill does 7k - 10k T-T
I would say if your gonna do a god mode I would probably recommend yun Jin ,Bennett , either Lisa at level 70 because she decreases def or Mona or zhongli I think does characters would bring out the best of the best for ayato
What i love about these videos is that you include the mistakes. like you could have totally just edited out the fact you did a showcase with a lv.1 weapon. but you didn't you kept it in and that creates a video with more personality and i like that :)
he's great i love his playstyle - although, this may just be me - but he feels as though he was released to soon, for example; if u use his skill then u cant plunge attack with him. and he also feels super prone to getting one shot.....
One thing I’ve been curious about Ayato is how good Festering Desire is on him since it increases elemental Skill Damage by 32% and its crit rate by 12% AND gives a butt ton of elemental recharge to give his burst 100% up time. It sounds perfect in theory.

I feel like Ayato would be amazing with Raiden, Bennet and Xiangling. The rotations are so convenient. You start with Raiden E, then Ayato E (This is better for groups of smaller enemies, for bigger enemies you can do this then the burst sequence) for constant electro charged. Once it runs out, you use Raiden E again to build up stacks, then Xiangling Q, Bennet Q, Ayato Q, and then Raiden Q for more damage. Of course, this is all inferred from trial runs since I'm saving for Kazuha or Yoimiya idk yet, but yeah I'm not completely sure if this would be viable in actual situations but it feels like a good combo.
Why can't I see people saying a word about Ayato's signature set? With it there're too many random factors: first, u need to crit, then u need to catch that buff, then those stacks on his e-skill. There are still so many options like the full hydro, full emblem, and gladiator thus many 2+2 options. Pls raise awareness, I don't like it how people don't realize they will be wasting their resign for another gacha
I think Hoyoverse didn’t really make a great job regarding Ayato’s kit description. Because most people if not EVERYONE, including me, got confused about his scaling and his basic attack. I ALSO thought he scaled off of HP and I also thought that raising his basic would make a difference to his skill, it was right after I read and tried to understand what all these names meant that I realized that HP wasn’t really doing anything for him at all. So maybe freemogems, HoYo??
I mean, if you read his skill description it mentions how his slash sequence is different from his NA(his skill slashes have different percentages), as well as how he is unable to do charged and plunging attacks after casting his skill. The hp stacks also are mentioned, but ~1percent bonus that can stack four times still isn't much of an investment, but is a nice bonus for if you use Jadecutter or Hydro resonance after laying the groundwork of a solid base. Further evidence is shown in how much more detailed it is to Tartaglia and Hu Tao's skill or Yanfei's burst, where he changes his attack stance. It's not the dev's fault for you misreading something that is clarified *clearly* in words and numbers
i saved since itto’s banner and managed to get him c2 with his signature weapon! fully maxed out already (except talents, they’re still 9/9/9 until raiden gives me more drops 😅) and i don’t regret it at all! i performs amazingly in a freeze team, i run him with kazuha, ayaka & diona and he works like a dream! definitely one of my favourite characters so far 😁
FYI: 1. Ayato’s basic attack is not a priority since the water slashes in his skill do not count as basic attack damage and therefore aren’t buffed by anything that buffs basic attack damage. The priority is skill>burst>basic. 2. If you want to know which is more important for his overall DPS atk vs HP, it’s 75% of his dps comes from ATK and roughly 25% comes from his HP scaling. 3. Best artifacts are Echo of an offering (great sub stat rolls Echo of an offering (average sub stat rolls) Echo of an offering (bad sub stat rolls) Gladiators finale Heart of depths In that order
BIG ADVICE: The Thundering Fury set should allow him to have 100% uptime on his E if you have an electro applier (eg Beidou since they both excel in AOE). I don't know if this has actually been tested yet to 100% verify, but the maths when he was in beta checked out. It's probably better than the new artifact set is for him overall; Ironically his set seems to mainly be good for bow and catalyst users. Also Yun's 30 stacks are a lot, probably more than you realise, and being able to chew them up faster with a character is advantageous because it allows you to utilize a second character before the duration runs out. Yun's buff is so huge that it's still going to be an enormous DPS increase for most characters in most situations, and faster attackers get absolutely stupid DPS with it. The problem with Shenhe's stacks is that (at least at C0) she only gets 7, which is less than a quarter as many. There was a bell curve to how I felt about Ayato. I went from not liking his design or how boring his kit looked in leaks and being mildly upset that he's better at hydro application than kokomi in the situations where you'd use either of them for that in the first place, to actually trying him in his trial and realising how punchy and satisfying his E actually feels, to seeing Yelan's leaks and deciding to stop pulling for Ayato even though I'm mainly pulling for Yun Jin constellations anyway, because I have guarantee and I REALLY want Yelan now. She may be one of my favourite 5*s, maybe even #1 depending on how they spin her personality.
Just something I noticed with the way you played Xiangling - you should use her burst after Bennett's burst so that she snapshots his buff for the entire duration
For my Ayato build Weapon: 90 Blackcliff Sword (for the crit dmg) 2 PC HOD 2 PC Glad Atk, Hydro, Crit rate CV: 69.5% rate 183.4% dmg he Deals 11k-13k per Slash in his elemental Skill and 20k-27k with Yunjin and Bennet Buff overall im very happy with my Ayato build and he's just so fun to play
I have no regrets, thanks to Ayato now I can use new characters on a team. For example, Ayato, Yae miko, Beidou and Jean/Venti/Sucrose. I was sad because Yae didn't work well in most of my teams but they together do very well : ) Fischl could be there too but I love how everything dies so fast with Yae and Ayato's ult.
I got him because i had 100% pity, and i waste 50 pulls more trying to get Yun Jin Constellation 2 (Which i failed) so i got sick of Yun Jin and i made my team without her. So instead i put Fischl C6 with Elegy of the end, and with Ayato, Bennet, Zhong Li and Fischl Masanori is destroyed in more or less 10 seconds. Fischl is incredible good with him, they are such a great combo. (Both of them can take full advantage of Bennet burst doing Snapshot and Zhong li shield is great since he dosnt move while doing those water slashes)
ayato shines in taser or freeze team im running him 4 piece heart of depth with chongyun venti and diona and he does amazing even underleveled as he is! his slashes also reach the enemies that are sucked into venti's burst! its a really fun team to play!
I will say he is fun to play! If anything he kinda feel like Itto in how his rotation goes, both of them Ult then Skill and the skill can be used twice in the duration of the ult, but with the difference being you can swap off Ayato during his ult.
Hp is not most his scaling based off, it may be just a little boost to an extent 1/10 value of critical damage. Really does not matter Hoyoverse probably wanna make you feel good getting Hp artifact and shaved it a constellation related to Jo for him.
It's fine in my opinion. I don't know if it's just me but I like to NA every once in a while so the gameplay is not that repetitive. Edit: plus his NA are really fluid to look at it's a shame to not use it HAHAHA
imo because of his ICD, Ayato would be better for electro-charged comps since all electro characters have the same ICD. Thundering Fury set would basically mean infinite E's for Ayato

i should hopefully be able to pull him on my eu account in a couple hours when the monthlies reset. I'm currently at 75 pity guaranteed, and he should hopefully come soon. I also hope my c6 sucrose would come as well- shes been c5 for quite a while and in all my pulls so far I didn't get a single sucrose. at least my xiangling is c6 now tho
I was able to whale and get him c2 r3 and he’s absolutely cracked, I’ve never been so hyped for a new character so I went all out. I have no regrets what so ever
I have raised him to lvl 80 with pjc and my stats is looking like 80/209 and talents 2/8/6 and i must say he's definitely a balanced charcter and is pretty useful when there is a group of enemies,he's hitting arround 6.8k to 7.5k per slash and when i use his burst it jumps up to 8/9k and some times 10k here and there I will double crown him and 90 him to see the difference from before.(he is on HOD set and in with a proper team he hits harddd I've seen 12k/15k per Slash with bennet and some others)

you should have tried using 4 PC HOD since after using its elemental skill, normal attack and charged attack increases the damage by 30% :D
Since he only does NA, I think gladiator is better because it's a 35% bonus

I ALSO thought he scaled off of HP and I also thought that raising his basic would make a difference to his skill, it was right after I read and tried to understand what all these names meant that I realized that HP wasn’t really doing anything for him at all. So maybe freemogems, HoYo??
I mean, if you read his skill description it mentions how his slash sequence is different from his NA(his skill slashes have different percentages), as well as how he is unable to do charged and plunging attacks after casting his skill. The hp stacks also are mentioned, but ~1percent bonus that can stack four times still isn't much of an investment, but is a nice bonus for if you use Jadecutter or Hydro resonance after laying the groundwork of a solid base. Further evidence is shown in how much more detailed it is to Tartaglia and Hu Tao's skill or Yanfei's burst, where he changes his attack stance. It's not the dev's fault for you misreading something that is clarified *clearly* in words and numbers
It’s funny because when he shows his first passive talent the na es and eb are all lvl 6 but on the second passive talent those talents are lvl 1
Ayato's boba made my day
i saved since itto’s banner and managed to get him c2 with his signature weapon! fully maxed out already (except talents, they’re still 9/9/9 until raiden gives me more drops 😅) and i don’t regret it at all! i performs amazingly in a freeze team, i run him with kazuha, ayaka & diona and he works like a dream! definitely one of my favourite characters so far 😁
The fact that Moga was kinda disappointed with Ayato but he was with a lvl 1 weapon jutst makes this even funnier eughbuiweghuihewg
FYI:
1. Ayato’s basic attack is not a priority since the water slashes in his skill do not count as basic attack damage and therefore aren’t buffed by anything that buffs basic attack damage. The priority is skill>burst>basic.
2. If you want to know which is more important for his overall DPS atk vs HP, it’s 75% of his dps comes from ATK and roughly 25% comes from his HP scaling.

BIG ADVICE: The Thundering Fury set should allow him to have 100% uptime on his E if you have an electro applier (eg Beidou since they both excel in AOE). I don't know if this has actually been tested yet to 100% verify, but the maths when he was in beta checked out. It's probably better than the new artifact set is for him overall; Ironically his set seems to mainly be good for bow and catalyst users.
Also Yun's 30 stacks are a lot, probably more than you realise, and being able to chew them up faster with a character is advantageous because it allows you to utilize a second character before the duration runs out. Yun's buff is so huge that it's still going to be an enormous DPS increase for most characters in most situations, and faster attackers get absolutely stupid DPS with it. The problem with Shenhe's stacks is that (at least at C0) she only gets 7, which is less than a quarter as many.
There was a bell curve to how I felt about Ayato. I went from not liking his design or how boring his kit looked in leaks and being mildly upset that he's better at hydro application than kokomi in the situations where you'd use either of them for that in the first place, to actually trying him in his trial and realising how punchy and satisfying his E actually feels, to seeing Yelan's leaks and deciding to stop pulling for Ayato even though I'm mainly pulling for Yun Jin constellations anyway, because I have guarantee and I REALLY want Yelan now. She may be one of my favourite 5*s, maybe even #1 depending on how they spin her personality.
I've found he's amazing in a taser team with Beidou and Fischl! Yun Jin is also an amazing support for him.

today i got Ayato's signature weapon and now im the happiest person in the world. Also Ayato is my first 5* who has its signature weapon
Ayato's E is similar to Childe's E (or Raiden's Burst). It doesn't scale off of Normal Atk. So it's not worth investing on it for the sake of DPS.
Just something I noticed with the way you played Xiangling - you should use her burst after Bennett's burst so that she snapshots his buff for the entire duration

I have no regrets, thanks to Ayato now I can use new characters on a team. For example, Ayato, Yae miko, Beidou and Jean/Venti/Sucrose. I was sad because Yae didn't work well in most of my teams but they together do very well : )
Fischl could be there too but I love how everything dies so fast with Yae and Ayato's ult.

What i love ayato is i dont have to be that close to the enemies to hit them & it hit most of them.
I got him because i had 100% pity, and i waste 50 pulls more trying to get Yun Jin Constellation 2 (Which i failed) so i got sick of Yun Jin and i made my team without her.
So instead i put Fischl C6 with Elegy of the end, and with Ayato, Bennet, Zhong Li and Fischl Masanori is destroyed in more or less 10 seconds.
Fischl is incredible good with him, they are such a great combo. (Both of them can take full advantage of Bennet burst doing Snapshot and Zhong li shield is great since he dosnt move while doing those water slashes)
ayato shines in taser or freeze team im running him 4 piece heart of depth with chongyun venti and diona and he does amazing even underleveled as he is! his slashes also reach the enemies that are sucked into venti's burst! its a really fun team to play!
I will say he is fun to play! If anything he kinda feel like Itto in how his rotation goes, both of them Ult then Skill and the skill can be used twice in the duration of the ult, but with the difference being you can swap off Ayato during his ult.
Hp is not most his scaling based off, it may be just a little boost to an extent 1/10 value of critical damage. Really does not matter Hoyoverse probably wanna make you feel good getting Hp artifact and shaved it a constellation related to Jo for him.

i should hopefully be able to pull him on my eu account in a couple hours when the monthlies reset. I'm currently at 75 pity guaranteed, and he should hopefully come soon. I also hope my c6 sucrose would come as well- shes been c5 for quite a while and in all my pulls so far I didn't get a single sucrose. at least my xiangling is c6 now tho

I was able to whale and get him c2 r3 and he’s absolutely cracked, I’ve never been so hyped for a new character so I went all out. I have no regrets what so ever
I have raised him to lvl 80 with pjc and my stats is looking like 80/209 and talents 2/8/6 and i must say he's definitely a balanced charcter and is pretty useful when there is a group of enemies,he's hitting arround 6.8k to 7.5k per slash and when i use his burst it jumps up to 8/9k and some times 10k here and there I will double crown him and 90 him to see the difference from before.(he is on HOD set and in with a proper team he hits harddd I've seen 12k/15k per Slash with bennet and some others)
