Imagine having this MPC Key in Chicago back in the 80's

You could just pain it yourself however you would ruin your warranty.
Dope little jam, might add this to the rig, nice and compact, and I would like to play keys in without the separate controller.

You can activate it on up to 3 devices but they also count the computer software as a device.
Yeah, I found that out after…gonna deactivate my computer because I never use it..especially for stock plugins

I use a tablet with Cubasis on it when on the go. My MPCs never leave home. Being portable means moving to a different room. I’ll stick with the One, Live II, and Key 61 for now. Who knows what tomorrow brings.

Lol the same have all the 2.0 MPCs including the force. Got the key 37 now too. Only one I didn't get was the key 61. These form factors keep me getting them. They all have unique workflows on a physical level. If you find a dope case for the 37 let us know. I get gear with no space lol gotta rotate.

you can have upto three instances of same plugin activated at any time. I have two Force, one One and key 61, so I know from personal exp ;)

Hey Brandon, The compressor-limiter is an MPC plugin or other outboard in this video?
There is one used in the MPC but also a little bit to level out the sound and boost my vocals in post
You can only use the extension packs on two machines.
Three instances of plugins. I don’t know what an extension is. Any combination of MPCs and computers up to *three* devices can share a plugin. Expansions can be run on any number of machines.
Who knows what an extension is supposed to be.

I don’t understand what you mean or why you would want to…I’d either use this, my Key 61 or Live 2..but no need to use them together as they do the same thing.
If you wanted to use it as an external synth on there, you should be able to…but you could just do the same sounds on the X without all that 🤷🏾♂️
I think what he means is can you link them together to have keys on the x and the answer is yes u can link the 2 verse using another midi keyboard to control the x you can use the keys to control the x thus keeping it all in the akai vibe and then have the portability of the key 37 when you aways from home base. I have actually did this with my 61 and x...and sold all my other midi keyboard controllers..it definitely makes more since especially for those that want to actually play the jets vs using pads in key group mode...so yeah I get what he is saying and I will be buying the 37 cuz when I would leave the house I would take my laptop and the mk225 and use the software and then port back to standalone when I'm home but soon as I saw the key37 I immediately sold the 225 to prepare for the 37..so when I travel it's all standalone now but still will have my laptop for my external vst...but mark my words when akai opens up the flood gates and partner with external vst maker like waves for instance and you can sync your account like you can splice ...listen the game will be over for everything only way the other will survive is preference it damn sure won't be because of they are better or the best...but mark my words akai is on it trust me standalone external vst coming
@@sweedloweryMan U kno I’ve ask this same question to like 3 other UA-camrs that I kno deal strictly with Akai hardware and they all don’t understand where I was going and u hit it right on the nail of wht I’m trying to do and the only reason I ask that question cause I heard another guy said when he tries to hook his key 61 up to his X the keys wasn’t working properly u feel me?

You need better monitors . The HS's are good entry level monitors but you should have better to hear the sounds as they really are.
What monitors would you recommend under $800 for a pair?
If that is your budget, you should keep the HS's. Save up and then purchase a pair of Neumann KH150's. Read the reports and measurements at Audio Science Review. These monitors set a new standard.

If wasn't so invested into Reason Studios and didn't own a MPK249 then maby I would of bought this. Should be noted however the technology used in this Key37 is over a decade old and thats a bit of a problem.

Listen one thing is you guys on here need to actually play keyboard and create your own idea out of your head. Thank God I still play in church for real. I haven’t stopped playing for 25 years that’s makes me wonder every time somebody makes a video play I don’t wanna be pushing buttons, collaborate the pushing buttons with the actual plan the keys.

There’s performers…and producers. It’d be nice to play a symphony, but it’s not needed to make beats. I’m willing to bet over half the music that’s out right now on the charts wasn’t made by playing church keys

They pretty much always been that way and even worse with the OG samplers. It’s plenty for what they’re designed for and really easy to sample back in or use audio tracks (I never had to but that’s an option)
And they were WAY more expensive in the 80s, 90s

I hear you, I have a 61 and the SE and I also want the key 37, not that I need it, it's just that it fits a niche for me, where I can take it and easily move it to a different location, even to my recliner in the living room or to the kitchen table.

That's the first thing I was thinking. I was hoping for the longest time (bought my Key 61 when it came out last year, it's my main midi controller now, but I use the VSTs extensively), so when I heard it was stripped of 2gb, thats weird to me. Because I want a super-portable version of the Key 61, but I don't want to be handicapped by a small detail like that, I'm a little on the fence now, price is good... I paid over twice for my key 61, but surely removing 2gb can't justify a whopping 1000$ off? So I'm thinking - the plugins are missing, waah! Can we use those key 61 plugins we already paid for in both?
Yes, you can use your current plug-ins it's just that loading them in will take slightly more time and you're probably will not be able to load as many plug-ins as on the key 61, but then again, you can't expect Akai to give you the same memory ram as the 61 otherwise nobody would buy the 61 unless you are a real piano player and you need 61 keys..@@joonglegamer9898

If it fills a niche, go for it. When I want to hit the keys, I go to the Key 61. If I need a quick chord progression or melodic passage, A MPK Mini, Mini Plus, or even a LPK 25 will do coupled with another MPC.
You have problem sir. Akai mpc is like buying iPhones lol. They all do the same thing yet seeing them in a new package just makes you want it
Did a vid explains exactly why. All the parts come from IN music Corp and the parts and technology has to go across all brands to lower costs. This also restricts innovation because the sub brands can only use what IN Music buy at the cheapest cost. That is why almost all technology in the Key37 is over a decade old.

I’m trying to be nice. It’s just a reality of the whole thing bro I have playing keyz in church for 25 years. I got my own equipment my own studio. I’m on Kanye West level but I pray for God I’m that confident but I played Lord. And peace equipment he still uses is a SR 10. That’s ridiculous. He’s a billionaire it’s not about the money it’s the excitement of it all. People used to fight to get the right sounds for the keyboard and 2024 is making it more easier but you Gotta know your way around the equipment and metro arrangement 15 minutes with my Yamaha motif XF7 MPC drum machines everything hooked up to my Apple. Well, Check out this dude. He has a better example bro an MPC 37 key. Yaahn Hunter Jr on UA-cam the boy is nasty and c dub and melo William and of course Young Chop (who is in jail young boy and he’s on Dr Dre level )

Akai products are high quality build wise however the tech like pads and keys are over a decade old and the same stuff used across the different In Music brands.
