My Name is Max and I film while driving cars. No matter if they are old, fast, loud or electric. They need to be special! With several onboard cams, I record everything important to show you High-Speed-Runs, Acceleration tests ( 0-100 kph / 0-200 kph / 100-200 kph / 200-300 kph ) and test drives on German Autobahn or Road. Please note, Germany is the country of "no speed limit" highways. So in some places, it's allowed to drive very fast. But please don't try this if you are not an experienced driver !! The engine doesn't seem to be healthy anymore. 240km/h is way too slow, even when you consider that the old 4.2 engine almost never reached the claimed specs on the dyno. It should go at least 270-280 on the speedo.
270 is top you’d get without a governor on those engines stock. And the governors were set at 233 for those so agree the engine is lame
Yes everyone can tell that this engine isn’t on a great condition anymore, anyway it’s almost 20 year old car so that was to be expected…i was hoping for a top speed of 260 km/h but atleast it did +250 km/h which it’s not great but okay i guess…

I am jealous of the lane discipline that people have in Germany. In the USA, people will travel the same speed in all lanes, with no regard for passing or travel lanes.
That's why we have fewer car accidents here in Germany
The car seems ok for it's age and weight. Also this transmission is great for normal driving.

@@vaginalfrosch Simon hat schon recht! Der S6 in dem Video schafft ja noch nicht einmal nach Tacho die angegebene Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 250 Kmh. Normal geht der laut Tacho schon seine 265Kmh, zumindest der den ich mal gefahren bin.

У меня W210 рестайлинг,E200 Kompressor на 186 лошадок с 6 ступенчатой механикой, с пробегом 200к км, я выжимал 255км/ч, эта ауди явно уставшая, на 350 лошадей должна за 200 улетать а не ползти!

This is my favorite generation of the S6/RS6 lineup. It has a timeless classic look, but what's more is that ability to convert them to 6-speed manuals. And the comfort... my god the comfort. It's a touch down from A8/S8, mostly because of the lack of double layer windows, but i prefer it to basically anything under €100k that came out in the last 15 years. The way it floats especially on A and B roads.. pure magic. Yes on tight mountain roads and on track it's like trying to wrestle a rhino, but that's not what this car is made for. Its purpose is fill it with luggage, take your S.O, hit the road, stick it in 6th, cruise effortlessly and in comfort at 200km/h, drive for 600km+ and arrive like you just had a nap.
This particular example sadly isn't healthy engine-wise. it looks astonishing, yes, but unless that's some really steep climb, that engine is producing no more than 270Hp. My old 2.7T A6 had better performance when it was stock at 250hp. Especially in the 3rd gear pull from 120. The 4.2L 40valve V8 should do it in half the time it took here. If you play the video at double the speed, that's how a healthy 4.2L V8 should pull in 3rd. This is AT BEST 270HP.

Складывается такое впечатление что этой машине 5 передача не нужна, да и что-то на верхах слабовато идёт!
Нужна для экономии топлива по автобану на большей скорости, чтоб в комфортном режиме ехать. Последние передачи не для разгона и так было всегда.
This car has never been a rocket though. It's more about the abilities on wet and icy underground and have a smooth drive. Engine has most likely 310 horses and additional there is a slow automatic transmission and quattro which both consumes power. That is why any golf gti with 220hp has the same dynamic. still a lovely car with great v8 rumble and good qualities in terms of long-term durability.
The drive shown look exaclty like my C5 4.2 Avant I drove in the past. About 7 seconds 0-100 with those long runs between gears, and the engine pulling without becoming explosive in the top end. The low crawling above 180 km/u. Everything gradual. Despite the video perhaps not showing an exciting car, it's a very nice daily driver.
@@WekkelEkkel I have manual s6 c5 and it is much quicker than this one I can tell you that... I tried automatic and it feels so slugish i could not belive it is the same car
I remember my 2003 S6, I did reach 265 km/h once.
The engine itself was fantastic, the problem was the transmission, it had only 5 long gears, plus the shifting was too slow, takes a second to shift from gear to gear.
I don´t know why that is but every time I look at this car I am just astonished. Although the C6 looks better and packs the V10 the C5 just hits me different.
From what i see up to 200 it goes, after 200 it's hard... Anyway cool car!

Its that damn gearbox! Can't make its mind up.....so many problems these gearboxes give.
It sounded like the car was going to fall apart when it was at and above 220km/h. Scary.
Sounds like the exhaust heat shield but it's very loud, I'd be sorting that before any high speed runs

Me thinks that car needs some work. I'd expect it to be faster, and what's with the weird noises above 200 km/h.

My -02 Avant never made it past 260, wear and tear i guess. The flutter from the driver side window though... no matter how good the pedals or steering wheel look you'll hear the miles on that thing

Isn't the wind noise coming from the sunroof? And as many have commented, it seems like it has suspension issues, very obvious when you brake the first time and it shakes the car.

Schönes Auto aber würde den 2.7 biturbo definitiv immer empfehlen. Mit ner guten Software geht der genauso gut wenn nicht sogar besser
Ich merke bei meinen kaum nen Unterschied, mein biturbo ist ne Limousine und hat etwas schmalere Reifen aber Spaß macht der s6 definitiv mehr. Leistung dürfte aber ca die selbe sein. Ach ja und der s6 klingt besser und sieht viel besser aus. Ist auch einer der Gründe warum ich den biturbo bald verkaufen werde.
Not sure what everyone is talking about it. It’s the s6 not rs6. It has a weak transmission that you can actually see slipping in this video and it’s a the heavier wagon not the sedan. The acceleration looks correct for this car

Tolle Ausstattung mit Solardach und Navi+. Der alte geht auch anständig
Die Ausstattung ist grauenhaft kein Carbon keine recaros keine abblendbaren Spiegel, ist ja quasi nackt die Bude 😁. Zumindest doppeldin hat er und der schwarze alcantara Himmel is auch sehr schön, das macht den Wagen dann wieder interessant.
My S4 b5 flies towards 250. Slowass v8. But love the C5 body. My faf combi would've been. S6 body with 2.7 k04s
Superschönes Auto, C5 Baureihe wird sehr unterschätzt. Allerdings ist er hier sehr langsam und müde. Entweder hat der Motor nicht ansatzweise volle Leistung (260-270 ps vielleicht), oder er hat eine komplett falsche Bereifung drauf (wahrscheinlich vom RS6, den Fehler machen viele). Jedenfalls hatte ich vor 3 Jahren den normalen 4.2er mit 300 ps und der schaffte mit genug Anlauf 280 laut Tacho und selbst er hatte zeitweise nicht volle Leistung und das sollte der S6 auch schaffen
Das ist sicherlich irgendwas nicht richtig..mein e46 2.5Liter Sauger mit 191 ps und 211 000km runter ist aufjedenfall mal genauso schnell und schafft die 240 spitze 🤭
Eben, wobei E46 generell flott mit jeder Motorisierung ist, wenn man es mit ähnlichen Autos vergleicht. Allerdings hinkt dieser Vergleich hier ein wenig, da A6 als Avant und V8 fast 'ne halbe Tonne mehr wiegt und mehr Verlustleistung durch Allrad und Automatik hat
Das auto im video gehört jetzt meinem kollegen der hat es vor kurzem gekauft die automatik schaltet bei der Geschwindigkeit nicht selber in den fünften der is noch im vierten wir haben zu dritt gps 285 geschafft
Der lauf war aber trotzdem auf 19zoll mit Winterreifen und da ist er bisschem schlechter gegangen

Aerodynamic+ weight(very heavy)makes it slow after 200km(+on dyno 300-310hp).
Normal behaviour for all of these i would say.

I did 235kmh with a4 2.8 quattro 193hp
A4 weights about over 500kg less

@@Djoxiiii777 i had mine on the weights and it was about 2000kg (full specs) my first a4 b5 (1.8) was about 1250kg, my b5 I now own (1.9tdi) weights about 1450kg. Yours isn’t heavier, I think it’s even lighter because of the aluminium block und the 1.9 has a iron cast block plus a turbine with intercoolers and stuff. The heavy b5 so are the 2.5tdi with full spec, they weight maybe about 1550kg
Second, the 2.8 liter engines always have their power if good maintained, some even more, the 4.2 on the other hand got maybe 300-310, not 340. I wasn’t on the dyno with mine now but I don’t think it’s over 310 as well.
So you have maybe 120hp maximum less and abou 400-500kg less weight and now yours is driving 235 (I think tachometer) and mine is driving 280 (tachometer). Don’t think it’s that bad, today I smoked a a6 c7 3.0tdi, a few weeks ago a e39 540i. I agree with the S6 not being very fast for claiming 340hp but it isn’t very slo either

I have 2000 s6 c5 that has s4 manual transmission. Maybe it's the gearbox or it's still has speed limiter enabled. Because I Managed to reach 250km/h with some rpm left for more speed but I was scared to push it more.
Why scared…I have the Automatik and it goes to about 280km/h and drives pretty smooth. Wind noise is getting high tho

Beside all the comments about the low power of the car, it must be said that straight from the factory the gearbox was pretty damn bad, and also it is a very heavy car for his category. Also, the shcok absorbes are complete dead on that car. My 2.0 TDI Passat it is way more stable that that car. I asume that they are original, and after 260.000 kms, any shock absorber will shake the car the way those did. At least this was my impresion.
