What we've witnessed is the change of power. Verstappen will be the man the coming seasons. Lewis will turn 37 next year and Verstappen will turn 25. So by the time Verstappen is 37 he had another 13 years under his belt. Of that 13 seasons he only has to win 7 times to break the record of 8 times champion.
'only' 7. Then RB needs to build a competitive car each year. Don't forget the regulation change next year. And Verstappen probably won't be racing until he's 37. He already said that becoming champion once is his goal and he doesn't care how many he wins after.

Never been done before it’s always been none of the field or all of the field. But they wanted that last lap, for views so broke their own rules. Edges closer to scripting. Not max’s fault but it will taint his WC
Well they had a chance to bring more eyes to the sport so they were definately swayed by that.. but it could have been handled better... I dunno if having a red flag was a possibility in those circumstances.. but if you can bend the rules for edge of the seat racing then i guess a red flag is also possible and also a much better alternative to keep the controversy part to a minimum.

There's a clause that allows the racing director (Masi) to override the safety car overlap rule and implement what he feels is right at that moment. Is it morally fair? No, as that clause yields too much power to Masi But did they break their own rules? No I think most sensible verstappen fans (and I know it might not seem like there are many!) realize that Hamilton deserved to win the race, but verstappen just edges it for me in the season. Max had issues in Baku and Hungary that weren't in his control (and I haven't even brought up Silverstone as I feel Max kinda cancelled that out at Monza). They should probably strip Masi of such responsibilities but no rules were broken here. They're just crap rules that should have NEVER decided this championship.
