That place is just frikkin gorgeous, Chris. You have such a wonderful eye for transforming the land into a place of natural beauty. When you walked this part of the property after purchasing it and laid out what you wanted to do, I was lost because I couldn't see it. I'm so glad you've brought us along for the journey and it has been a fun ride. Thank you for sharing it.
What I really love about ur work is ur attention to the fine detail. It doesn't matter if ur working for yourself or a customer, ur focus is always the same, everything has be spot on. It is so refreshing & makes for a far superior final product. Well done, Chris & thank u for bringing us along in all ur endeavours 😊😊
Is he really going to rent it?…..why would you buy a farm if your not a farmer and then buy the neighbors farm so no one would build houses near you and then build a cabin on it to rent to nitwits to bug you and ruin your privacy….and your cabin!
You think that muddy pond looks good…..is that something people swim in down there….doesn’t that standing stagnant water produce that brain eating amoeba?
I really like the color choices you picked for the cabin interior and exterior, it is a neat looking cabin. Those little details in concerning the landscaping are making it a sweet little place. Thanks for the update, enjoying watching the cabin build.
I vote mulch! As usual the dirt work is top notch. Such a beautiful setting to spend some time resetting your internal clock. Thank you Chris. Love the hum of the mini. Good video. If you do any stained concrete outside and want it to look natural try a light dusting of rock salt while it is curing. Makes a beautiful somewhat natural stone look then stain in a color that compliments your soil. Trust the process 19 years and holding. Thanks for the rain. Nice peaceful rain since 4am and most of the day. Another round starting later tonight. Texas needs every drop.
Your cabin looks fantastic!!! I have the same blue on my lower kitchen cabinets, love it. All your tile work looks great! How nice it is all coming together for you!
Great job 👍🏻 2:54 love how you said wings coating love how you said can’t pull it off 14:42 nice burp 😂 love how you knocked the shovel down with the excavator 17:02 I saw a frog 18:06 I see scissors on the ground definitely enjoyed the cabin work and update
Chris, I continue to be amazed at how you manage to put every grain of dirt exactly where you want it. About the patch in front of the deck; how about some stepping stones or pavers with some small ground covering plants. The kind that doesn't need trimming but spreads out nicely around the stepping stones?
Your Cabin, on the Pond go in the Finish Time. In the Cabin is the Furniture and Outfit to make. On the outside have You round the Cabin to work. The Side to the Pond to Arrange You the Place to Gadering. You will all have first Class. On the Way side is the End not ready in the next Days. You have again a great Purchase to reach. Congratulation 👌
Even though you have not "disturbed" the roots. The natural forest floor mulch has been removed and stone and driveway compaction has probably been pretty detrimental. . I would outline a good area for the tree, add some landscaping timbers around it and add a good 6" layer of aged compost as well as a soaker hose for awhile. Trees depend on the mycelium and rich biological activity in the soil, they aren't happy with dry compacted soil getting their toes run over.
Chris that oak tree probably does not like the compaction of traffic after all it's life in the woods. Maybe put up some blockers to keep traffic off so it can recover for a while and pump some water up from the lake to it on occasion til it gets back to healthy. I know it rained but we have had a really dry year this summer. Your idea of a cabin is ten times nicer than any place I ever lived.
Get you a airblow80 sump pump for the pond. put it under the porch up off the ground a few feet. Aeration plus prevent inversion in the winter. Stock the pond with fish
Unlike in Scotland where they sweep out a disused cow house, hang a door and market it is a bothy for a holiday let, building holiday lets in North Carolina is a serious undertaking :-)
Cabin is beautiful, love the color choices and tile work. How about some "steppable" plants instead of mulch or grass, low growth and hardly any maintenance, same as creeping thyme ☺️🌻
You should mulch that area right by the deck at the back of the cabin. Then just plant some bushes or other plants / flowers. Less maintenance that way but still looks good.
@@nickchannel5364 in that case he needs to put down Astro turf also known as fake grass. No mowing and easier to remove poop and once sprayed with water there’s no mess. We used to have an area like that for our dogs and it was so much better than proper grass.
Love it Chris !! Man, can't wait to see it on the final walk threw, going to be really, really nice !! Hell, you'll be up there laid up in the Jacuzzi after a hard day of work !! lolololol... Why not, right... lolol... But, looking super nice Man !! Great as always !! Have a Great Evening, And, On too the Next !!
Because of blowing grass clippings up under the deck or down on the lower part. I switched around put colored Stone. Of your choice where you had put the top soil and put the top soil down on the lower part and make most of that grass with a small center section for a fireplace and a small patio with the outskirts of the lower section, a couple more widths wide of grass.
👍 Yep, between the back patio and those rocks is gonna be a bitch to maintain, I would go with a membrane covered in stone with special plants to make it a garden highlight feature.
I don't know where your closest fire hydrant is, but I reckon it's not terribly close. You should consider putting in a dry hydrant in to protect the 'cabin' it may even lower your insurances rates~
Cabin is a beauty. As to why they can't stay on the road, I hear you, I don't know why they are allowed to drive if they don't know how to drive somewhere other than a freeway.
I love the cabin, it really looks amazing. I can’t help but wonder, when do you expect to be able to actually spend some time there? According to my math based on the video uploads lately, you work about 8 1/2 days a week, that doesn’t leave much time to “relax”.
Chris I’ve always been curious why you didn’t go with a Volvo mini. I’ve used them along with about every other brand. They seemed to be good machines. But I do have a gehl…. Which is almost identical to yanmar. I’d guess it’s a use to thing maybe

Thanks for the cabin update Chris, lets hope the oak trees survives.
It's a very nice place. It's looks peaceful. Just sit and have coffee and look at the pond.
i'd have a beer😁
The cabin is starting to come together. Looking good
It's looking really good my friend. Keep up the good work.
That cabin is amazing. You will have a waiting list a mile long for this.
You have created paradise from nothing. Everything is absolutely perfect for whoever rents your cabin in the future. Great planning, Chris.
Is he really going to rent it?…..why would you buy a farm if your not a farmer and then buy the neighbors farm so no one would build houses near you and then build a cabin on it to rent to nitwits to bug you and ruin your privacy….and your cabin!
I am happy to see a man enjoying his success.
Thanks for the update on the cabin, it’s looking fantastic. I love the tile and cabinet choices. It won’t be long until it’s ready for guest.
The cabin yard pond are realy looking fantastic I know you are very proud of the way its turned out

The cabin is looking fantastic! It looks like it will be a great place to stay.
Spectacular place you have built Chris .
You should call it The White Rock .
Love the cabin. It is going to be a very nice place to stay.

Chris a great idea to do is have something inside that they can each sign when they stay.
Really turned out great Chris..great choices
Cabin looks Great. Just heard that hurricane is coming. Talking getting really big really fast. Keep yourself and your family safe.
Cabin looks awesome great job great video thanks Chris
lots of planning, and rethinking the things you forget, life goes on.

Geoff is getting a run for his money concerning property development and design-let’s go! Beautiful property!
Great job as always Chris!!!
Looking good

Property and cabin are looking good.
I am looking forward to the first party you throw at the cabin.
Beautiful cabin
Cabin?!!!! You have good taste sir!

Lovely green "well" house!
❤❤❤ Awesome cabin!

Good morning Chris ❤😊
Got that Cabin Fever.
Very nice, nice indeed. Congrats Chris! On the oak tree, maybe throw a little fertilizer around the leaf line?
Unlike in Scotland where they sweep out a disused cow house, hang a door and market it is a bothy for a holiday let, building holiday lets in North Carolina is a serious undertaking :-)

That area is reserved for the Airbnb customers' dogs to poop in. Chris needs to supply a pole with a doggie bag box as a hint.

Good progress!
It does look great. Thanks
Very cool cabin… 😊😊
Chris very very nice cabin ,now you need to make time to enjoy it 😅😅

Love it Chris !! Man, can't wait to see it on the final walk threw, going to be really, really nice !! Hell, you'll be up there laid up in the Jacuzzi after a hard day of work !! lolololol... It's coming along great. When it's done is going to almost be an oasis..
even when done there is always something more.
Nice video Chris.

Looking good; I would plant some seasonal color and mulch around.
THANKS!
Good afternoon. Love the videos and as always keep up the great work!
Came out nice man. Nice & secluded. I'd live there, plant a garden, stock the pond and never go back into society. lol. No seriously.
I wouldn’t mind living in the place year round being single retired 74 year old. The only thing that it is missing is a wood and metal shop. 😉
Very nice 👍
Stamped stine patio with dark grey color!
That Cabin is looking great - alot of single family homes are not that quality now.
That area between the deck and the first stone wall I would it a mulched garden with stepping stones going through it.
very nice.
Chris great content, have you thought about using those big rocks to protect your well head.
A landscape rake might be helpful.
You should place one of the big rocks by the well. Maybe that will keep someone from driving over it one day. Construction is messy business.
Definitely a different choice in colors for your cabin🤔
In Wisconsin the depth for the water line would be 48 inches deep below the frostline
When you have so much heavy equipment you forget you can “fine grade” with a rake if you need to. 😂
the horizontal fence poles on the other side of the pond could do with some camouflage as they catch the eye too much..
👍 Yep, between the back patio and those rocks is gonna be a bitch to maintain, I would go with a membrane covered in stone with special plants to make it a garden highlight feature.

Definitely keep it low maintenance and the fire pit with a small ring. Tenant’s and alcohol gets out of hand occasionally.
Mulch or sod where you put the to soil? Have David plant the edges and put stepping stones down the center.
Couple of cold nights trees will begin to start into fall!!!
Cabin is a beauty. As to why they can't stay on the road, I hear you, I don't know why they are allowed to drive if they don't know how to drive somewhere other than a freeway.
Hello Chris. The cabin is looking good. Now you have a place for Mike at Dirt Perfect to stay.
Likely have to be booked at least a year in advance.
I love the cabin, it really looks amazing. I can’t help but wonder, when do you expect to be able to actually spend some time there? According to my math based on the video uploads lately, you work about 8 1/2 days a week, that doesn’t leave much time to “relax”.
Top tier of your wall should be planted with flowers and small shrubs. Don’t sod it.
Whatever happened to your dog, Winston? Never see the pup anymore. 😊
Cabin looks so good!! Are you going to rent it out, would Love to bring my husband there.he is a big fan of yours.
That's the purpose of this build for short term stays.
How would you get information to rent it
You are doing stamp C RE Tei just would have done a cobblestone.Finish it looks really beautiful or even marble
The holy tree would be a good X-mas tree to decorate in a couple of months ???
Where is Jason, we haven't seen or heard from him in months, and the cabin looks great.
So weird watching you dig a water line that shallow. I live in Ottawa. Our frost line is at least 4’.
Chris are there more cabins in the plans would be nice to have a few
Ha ha letsdig18 road people are !always looking for peaceful get away
Chris I’ve always been curious why you didn’t go with a Volvo mini. I’ve used them along with about every other brand. They seemed to be good machines. But I do have a gehl…. Which is almost identical to yanmar. I’d guess it’s a use to thing maybe
Yeah, I spose the miniature golf course, will just have to go out in the field .....
Looks good! My question would be where's the communication! Like a phone or wifi router!
That's looking Awesome! When are you going to start the next cabin? :)
You may have to give up 40 acres to give some people enough room to turn around😂
It is looking better all the time. From the well to the house copper or some form of plastic?
