  • This is my review on the Polaris VRX IQ+ pool cleaner. This is the top-of-the-line pool cleaner from Polaris right now. Not only does it clean the floors, walls, and waterline of your pool but it's also the SMARTEST robot they offer. "Smart" meaning, it has Wi-Fi and online app control!
    You have the power to control this smart cleaner right within your hands! Use your phone to receive notifications, set schedules, control the robot physically, anything you want!
    Overall, the best smart robotic cleaner offered from Polaris today. A premium high-end cleaner at a premium price. If you want a cleaner with all the bells and whistles, this is the one to get!
    You can pick one up at my link below!

    Glad I found this video. I was having buyers remorse after watching a video and placing the vrx iq+ at number 8! This eases my mind. Thanks!!!

    Hi David! I am a new pool owner and have a Polaris 280. I am not in the market for a new pool robot, but I enjoy your videos because your reviews are very detailed. Keep the videos coming, and keep up the excellent work!

    Hey love all of your reviews especially this one. My cleaner just went out. Looking to get a new one and I’m looking at this one as well as the Polaris p965iq and the Polaris PCX 868iq. Would like to know if you can do a review of PCX 868

    Would you recommend the sigma or the vrxiq more? How many motors does the Polaris have? I’m trying to decide between the dolphin and the Polaris. Thanks.

      I'm pretty sure there is just one motor in the Polaris but it's a big one and more powerful than other cleaners with 2 or more motors.
      Between the Sigma and the Polaris, I prefer the Polaris. It has an easier access debris basket and the navigation/movement seems a bit more advanced than the Sigma.

    1800$ pool cleaner died on me after 2.5 years. Motor replacement costs 600$.

    Hello David,
    Your explanation is amazing, but it would be nice to also hear the cons of all these products for proper evaluation for our next purchase.
    Keep up up the great videos.

      Thank you! I did list some of the cons in the video. The ultra-fine filter, it being a very smart wifi dependant cleaner for the price. It's hard when you look at the more premium higher-end cleaners because they do include more features than the base models.

    Hello, I enjoyed your video but would like to know how well it cleans the tanning ledge? I currently have a 9550 sport cleaner. It doesn’t clean my tanning ledge at all. I’m looking for something that will clean the whole pool. Thanks again for the great video!

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid  7 місяців тому

      The iq+ does pretty well on my tanning ledge. The first time I used it it didn't reach it well. But after using Smart Cycle a few times it basically learned the shape of my pool and gradually climbed up it more often. So expect to run that a few times before it truly maps your pool! I also have a 9550 sport that I no longer use but that used to climb my ledge pretty often as well so it could be more of the shape of your pool? Mine is rectangular in design. Is your pool more curved in shape or more complicated?

    Should I buy this cleaner or the Dolphin E50? I want a WiFi robotic pool cleaner that cleans the best and has the largest basket available.
    I hate having to constantly empty the basket. My pool is not screened and we have lots of oak trees nearby.
    The Polaris has a 5 liter basket. I can’t find the size of the Dolphin E50 basket anywhere.

      Hello! I haven't actually used the E50 or E70 but I do know that these sort of premium cleaners have a better filtration system than Polaris does in general. It's pretty sad that the IQ+ doesn't include an ultra-fine stock.
      I have the same issue with trees during the Fall/Windy season. To this day, for 5+ years now, whenever it comes to this time of the year I swap my cleaner out to the Dolphin Premier. It is the only cleaner on the market still, with a dedicated leaf bag. It picks up a ton of leaves and the bag is the largest I've ever used. The downside to this is that it has no wifi and there isn't another cleaner on the market with this leaf bag.
      Also, have you considered a solar automatic pool skimmer? That will help with catching leaves on the top surface before it sinks. But, you'll still be emptying the basket of that out like you would a robotic cleaner.

    Just got one. Mine will not climb the wall all the way. Any suggestions

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid  2 місяці тому

      It should climb up walls pretty easily. Unless you have like 10 foot tall walls or something insanely tall. I would say to check the filter or impeller if anything is clogged but you just got it so that can't be it. May be a defective unit. This cleaner should climb easily

    Does it clean stairs?

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid  Місяць тому

      Do you mean like a literal stair/step or a ledge like a tanning or baja ledge?
      Because no, it doesn't clean steps/stairs. It'll climb up them well to the top but most cleaners won't actively scrub or suck debris on them because of the lack of surface area. It'll clean the ledge above the steps because there's room to move, but not steps itself.

    It doesn't have scrubbers in the back how come?

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid  3 місяці тому +1

      It's just the design of it. Some cleaners move forwards and backwards to clean, so having brushes on the front and back makes sense. The VRX moves forward mostly so probably why it has only front scrubbers.

    Does it clean the dust? Nice video😃

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid  4 місяці тому

      It does pick up silt/dust with the standard filter that's included but if you have a lot of it you'll have to buy the separate ultra-fine filter for it and swap it out. Hope that helps!

    They are awful i have had 2 of this brand they break out when the warranty runs out , they design it with expensive pcb boards under the water that will eventually get damaged .. very expensive and uneconomical to fix

      My first one 965iq lasted 3 years, then I bought the alpha IQ that last 3.5 years. They don’t last long and you’re spending over 1k!

    DO NOT PURCHASE.
    This pool robot has ruined my liner. When confronted with the obstacle of my stairs it just spins it's wheels and doesn't know when to stop. By the time I figured out what the new lines in my liner were, it was too late. How can this robot "learn" the geometry of a pool when it doesn't know that the wheels have been moving for ten minutes and it hasn't moved?
