    Thanks for the video!
I was nervous about how much trust you gave to that POS jack lol.
Also, the whole video was riding on, "is he going to tighten the lugnuts in a star pattern?" 😂.
    - I had pre-determined that if you didn't use star pattern to tighten them, I would've just discarded everything and not trusted your ability to work on a vehicle.
But you did, so now I'm interested in seeing what other videos you might have. 😁
All in all, I enjoyed the video and thanks again for the information. 🙏🫡

Dude - jack stand "use what you got" no jack stand then scrap wood, cinder block, anything, the neighbors annoying dog anything but your foot which stayed below the assembly for most of the video...
2nd should have cut out the access hole (that Ford should have originally cut out) from the back plate (then you should be able to adjust em without taking apart anything). The slut to cut out is already pressed into the backplate sheet metal.
    3. Believe you on the opposite threads for the adjusting screw but the 20 or so vehicles I have done this to all had an opposite turn direction from driver to passenger side to tighten. I had always assumed that was the norm...
    Thanks again

You definitely want to use jack stands here especially since you already use the Ford so-so jack. They are dirt cheap and can save you from personal harm and costly damage to your car if it was to slide off the jack. Lithium grease will have all rubber bushing swell and fail, use silicon brake grease and be happy !

No need to take off the wheel and brake rotor, there is a small window at the back, just use a screw driver to do it.

Always use a safety catch in the case the jack fail to hold car up while the shaking of tha car is going in....
My prayers was there for that brother so he wuold not get crushed by his lack of safty even that tire should help in some way...

When you say to disconnect the battery because the braking system is electric, please explain. My parking brake is manually applied with my foot. Are you referring to the ABS sensors?

    • @jay2dresq
      @jay2dresq  Рік тому

Because the brake system may pressurize if it anticipates you may start it. Simply opening a door can trigger the brakes to pressurize.

Parking brakes are not affected by hydraulic

How are the brakes electric??? A switch is depressed when brakes engaged. All car adjust in different direction depending on passenger vs driver wheel. Most self adjust. The access hole is in back of plate. Rubber plug.

The brake booster is electric because if it operated on vacuum you would not have power brakes in hybrid mode. Also, there is no access hole to adjust, at least on mine there wasn't. There's no self adjuster.

Hi, I have a squeaking noise when braking, when I brake there is this noise periodically when the wheel turns. Could it be a bad calibration of the handbrake? Also, this leads to a slight additional braking per stroke at the same time as the noise.

I would look at the caliper slides. The calipers tend to get stuck on these, especially the front ones. First of all, check the pads, inside and out. If your caliper gets stuck on the slide, your outer pad will look fine, but the inside one can be completely gone. If your pads are fine, grease the slide pins, and put it back together.

@@jay2dresq I went to my mechanic today, he told me that it must be a disc or a bearing that was defective, a little deformed and that it was not dangerous if I kept driving it, there will just be the noise. I admit that I don't want to buy a whole brake cause they are new 😅. Thank you for your help

The socket he used for lugnuts was a 19mm. The torx bit he used to remove caliper was T45.

First of all.. use the correct hammer don’t use a framing hammer to fix a vehicle. Second, hand thread on the lugs before tightening, you can cross thread them by putting them on like that

Sorry, I slid the phone into the door pocket. I didn't have anything on the other side to put the phone.
