I'm the lead trumpet player for my HS, currently am a Junior, looking to join Santa Clara corps when I graduate. Can't wait to see you guys preform.. Very amazing show you guys have.
im a new cymbal player for my new highschool Im a freshman anyways I thought I would never join band but I had it for my last period and Now I fucking love it today I fot my dog tags and looking at these guys play and how they march motivates me to work hard ^.^
It was very close between Bloo and BD very close, I honestly think that this is the best line that bloo has ever had in terms of scores, a 19.3 at finals is insane. Bloo, you have most everyone's approval for best percussion last season. Your drums sound godly and you guys are clean as tits. I wish you the best for next season.
8:50 oddly enough sounded like the intro to MJ's "liberian girl" lol. and i first started watching these DCI videos with blue devils "space chords" and it branched out from there and i gotta say, not only am i intrigued by the type of music played.....the fact that the band is pretty much in an upbeat fast pace motion the entire time just amazes me. there is no way in hell any HBCU band or traditional style marching band could hold a candle to this kind of showmanship.
it looks to be just a continuous thumb roll. look up 'thumb around' on youtube and you'll find some pen spinning videos (that's how I learned it). once you get the basic spin, you can figure out the continuous motion from there.
Awesome still haven't seen a troop like Float did take a drumline do a perfect 32nd roll leave drumline 40 yards away and from each other and make it sound together like buttcheaks haha
So, everytime I am watching this, I always manage to look at the one snare player that is well dressed than the others. Did he lose a bet or did he show up to rehersal like that? I'm just curious XP
yeah, no one else here knows how to tune and take care of the drums properly other than myself and two others, plus i bought the snare i use and i dont trust anyone with tools or a drum key near my snare.
I still come back to this 8 years later lol. A true masterpiece.
Quad break was flawless
High levels of maturity evident in the Bluecoats this year
I like this
6:30 - 7:20 I've never grooved so hard in my life. One of my favorite drum sequences of all time.
This aged so well
that visual at 10:15
Haha awesome vis
I dare someone to watch this in 2 speed. I couldn't watch like 3 seconds without laughing so hard i teared up.
lol pretty dirty when you speed it up
That's not even cool.
How do I do that? I'm interested
The settings for the video like it should be under neath the quality
Robert Harvey YA BOB
Lightning bolt @6:49.

Very amazing show you guys have.
This corps brings something special to the field every year, and is a real crowd pleaser. They are definitely my favorite "Blue" corps.
this is the only on field video that i haven't gotten bored with. BLOOOOO
Pretty sure they said "Let's go nigga" at 8:50. lol
They did
"Let's go baby" I think.
+The Undertaker No.
blitz342 ok
whatever you guys were doing this year, you were doing it fucking right.
Still here after 11 years, epic vid
Always find myself coming back just to hear that eargasm of a quad break @6:36
OHHHHH IT'S SOOOOO GOOD
Holy.. what are yard lines?
I believe the words of ruh nani nah were indeed "who's that girl" @ 3:47
That marimba player can play the shit out of some finger rolls. Damn.
This video is catagorized as comedy

Clean as tits 😂
Right on. Second drumline i know in DCI that stays with the same stick for more then a year. Right on. 3 year trucking with IPJC
sweeeet!!! get at it, im a junior drum captain and lead snare at my high school... (snare tech too) the reward in the end is great.
I love the tuning of those quads!
8:50 oddly enough sounded like the intro to MJ's "liberian girl" lol. and i first started watching these DCI videos with blue devils "space chords" and it branched out from there and i gotta say, not only am i intrigued by the type of music played.....the fact that the band is pretty much in an upbeat fast pace motion the entire time just amazes me. there is no way in hell any HBCU band or traditional style marching band could hold a candle to this kind of showmanship.
god. Just realized this is my last season to march again and I can't do it.
you can tell these guys LOVE what they do
I REMEMBER THOSE DRUMS!!! I saw their show in Massillion, Ohio with my Marching band I think!
This video makes me miss corps, and I want summer to come way faster this year. I can't wait until my first year marching snare!
Wait whaaat?! Was the vocal at the end of the ballad "lets go nigga"? Lol smh
Their harnesses look SOOOOO COMFORTABLE!!!

Dam!!! Speechless....i love this show.
that's a huge understatement.
mostly innovative fs-mm's and then as-mm's for musical passages. i could be wrong but i read that in one of their packets somewhere online
Daniel Recoder, please make a video on how you did the pizza stick toss at 1:45. That would be AWESOME
The first step is learning to do the infinite thumb roll. I have a tutorial for that on my IG page @forte.Athletics 😁
@@DanielRecoder awesome. thanks!
they play infinity hocketts. i love all of them like my own dear children.
If you're not hearing it from up top it won't sound together.
that last drum strike and the hornline release weren't together :/
god the intro will never get old!!!
i watch this video once every day
Best BlueQ ever.
in concert season wishing for marching season to start again...
i watch the first 20 seconds over and over
Damn right it did.
On an unrelated note, I can't audition for BlueQ this year, Onye... Too far away :(
Daniel.. Why didn't you tell me that one of the old Bluecoats tenors filmed this. Shit man that's badass.
This line is just so good, big fan! oh and that pizza visual at 1:45 is probably my favorite stick trick xD
10:16 LMFAO
So, everytime I am watching this, I always manage to look at the one snare player that is well dressed than the others. Did he lose a bet or did he show up to rehersal like that? I'm just curious XP
Best quad feature ever
Holy consistency, tenors!
First DCI audition this weekend... any tips? This is my first steps towards being on this quad line other than wgi.
You're welcome.
Why did you switch from BD to bluecoats? Isn't it usually the other way around?
I learned this snarebreak so fun to play
oh really? my bad i guess what i read was old. when did you guys make the switch?
What are the hybrid sticks they use with what looks to be rubber on the butt end?
8:51 they wouldnt allow that as an audible now lol
OmG are you That Recorder kid?
Yes..... Just yes
Hey can someone here (preferably Daniel Recoder) make a video on how to do the pizza visual at 1:44? I would GREATLY appreciate it!
i slowed it down and the first part is through his fingers, but the part right before he throws it is a thumb roll
8:50 - "Let's, let's go nigga..." HAHAHA
what kind of sticks do the snares and tenors use?
Is it just me or do the snares have the slightest tilt on them?
great cinematography sir!
Lots of fun tributes hidden in there.
You tech your own line?
some one please tell me they are making another one for this year PLEEASE
yeah, no one else here knows how to tune and take care of the drums properly other than myself and two others, plus i bought the snare i use and i dont trust anyone with tools or a drum key near my snare.
Anyone know what shorts theyre wearing... they always wear those
What kind of quad heads are those?
I love evans! When did they come out with that head? :D
Probably 09 when Mike Jackson took over for Macintosh?
- what sticks do snares use??
What kind of heads are the tenors using?
7:15
ok hold up
were those bass drum shots? Seriously? Fuck
I love the bluecoats now
How in the world did this not score higher!?!?!?!
I love that "q4" is in the URL
It probably sounded together from the spectator view
Dude, it's Kenneth Smith. of course he's sure.
Anyone know what sticks snares use?
Wow! 5 thumbs down...probably got beat by them!!! Roger Carter is doing an amazing job! Go get that drum trophy in 2013!!!
you should do some tutorials on your stick tricks because you have like the best ones haha
which one, yo?
6:00 Flashback to rifle toss this year that I got hit with too many times. Scarred for another two months.
why do they keep changing sticks?
I am dying over here...
Not sure how this didn't win the drum title. Devils were not that clean in most of their show. Nor was the writing as fun as this. Great job guys!
2:40 sounded so good
I could have sworn this video used to be widescreen... hmmm
I wonder what type of camera he used
This is freakin amazing
Que perfeito, gostei de mais...
1:45 is SICK DREC!
I CANT STOP LAUGHING AT THE BEGINNING. I CANT.
come to rock hill sc
am I the only one who thought the pizza toss at 1:45 was totally badass?
SO DAMN GOOD!!!
