@percussiontech1 the bass visual is shown very clearly in a vid called "Bluecoats Opener Finals Night 2010" at about 2:35...the vid looks darkish....in grass...and snare lined up.....if u watch it and skip to that part...u can learn....it only took me a few times of watching it to learn it, good luck!
drew guy is a sexy beast. :D he inspired me to learn snare and play this book. when they come to murfreesboro, my band has the option to go around and watch a corp of our choice and this year i pick the bluecoats, especially the drumline. im a guard girl, but this is exciting for me. even better cuz their opening song is our closer. :D
@skaterfan105 im on lavergne guard. :P but im in the process of drumline lessons. what do you play? since the whole band goes to DCI together, we have the option of getting our tickets early and the day of the competition, we can travel around and watch corps practice at schools before the head to MTSU. like last year, I watched Santa Clara practice all day until it was time for them to drive over to MTSU.
1:37 "He's gay....we're gay...so gay...all gay." hahaha the vocals are hilarious (there's many more). oh bluecoats drumline...i wish i could ever be that cool.
did anyone notice the group behind the 1st bass was playing ninja in the opening? i saw them playing and i was like haha playing ninja to bluecoats music ftw!!!!!
Hello, I am a Junior in high school interested in auditioning. I play tuba, and I play sousaphone in my school's marching band, which has a National Class title in New York. I was wondering if anyone that has played in this group before could tell me more about how good you have to be to make it into the Bluecoats. Any help is much appreciated!
I didn't audition for Bluecoats but for most drum corps its all about your work effort. Yeah talent is a factor but that can and will improve. If you aren't willing to push yourself and keep your head in the game they wont want you in their corps. Just be prepared to get your ass kicked the first camp. Even vets (though they may not admit it) will struggle keeping heavy horns up and will be just as sore as you are on Sunday. You gotta use the force and power through it.
i dont think any group would be as fun to be with ......i have never seen blue devils do something like this ( vocals) besides that one think with the hi moms a while ago
This is why I love the Bluecoats. You can tell these guys are just having so much fun while playing, and it makes it even more fun to watch.
Imagine if 360 cameras existed in 2010.
. It's 2015 and I still love all their visuals and vocals. Lol!
"like a bosss!"
I love Blue Coats.
I swear every time I watch them, my heart pounds. I wish I was as good as Drew Guy forreal.
I love it how he just knocks drews stick away
Matt Malabonga (ex crossmen quad drummer) shows a tutorial for the nunchuk visual thats really easy to pick up on. Took me about 10 minutes.
Someone get me a napkin because that book was tasty
1:16 bass drums, i lost my virginity through my ears
Little piece at 2:25 goes hard
this drumline is the prime example of how in a drum corps you can be badass and play clean while still having fun!
hands down my favorite book for 2010
1:59 LIKE A BOSS.
0:42 top left corner for those who dont know / didnt notice, ninja!
This is the most beautiful thing
"so girrrl, get your mouth away from my..."

@snaregurl15 Yeah, that's her. Someone said she played set for Pulse in '09, too.
coats always have the best vocals
Im plan on trying out either for Alliance or Bluecoats for baritone.

1:37 "He's gay....we're gay...so gay...all gay." hahaha the vocals are hilarious (there's many more). oh bluecoats drumline...i wish i could ever be that cool.
what type of sticks do the snare line use because they're sick
The snare visual at 2:40 is sweet but does anyone else see the awsome bass visual too?!?!?!?
@JessOnTheRun I do enjoy yamamha, I love their instruments. Dynasty not so much
did anyone notice the group behind the 1st bass was playing ninja in the opening? i saw them playing and i was like haha playing ninja to bluecoats music ftw!!!!!

Yes he did.
@dlinekidd93 yeah cause the other corps look bored doing what they do. these guys look like they enjoy and love doing what they do best
@usster17 yes.
@breakdance1441 not really hard, just be prepared for the audition process by getting the respective packets and going to camps.
@saidincontent
if you look you can see that the snare to his left made him drop the stick

@thsma2009 HAHA they were! We played ninja with a group of local high school kids. It was fun!
2:01, this dude dropped his sticks in 2 vids but I think this time the snare next to him purposely made him do that LOL . still awesome
which group quoted Step brothers in their show??
0:41 how can you be playing ninja in the background when the bluecoats are playing right behind you?!

@DarkZeroProductionZ I don't think he dropped it. The other kid knocked it out of his hand. He hits it at 0:47 too.
@schecter96 yeahh dude
she knows our drum tech(:
she is a boss!! saw her in the lot dang chops son!!!
Is it just me, or is the bass visual during the snare visual's pretty sick?
actually they are based out of a college in minisota or something
BD says they "max it out" but i think BC definately has the most physically demanding music and show with visuals ever!
