Here is some footage of a Jason Scheff session , covering Work To Do by the Isley Brothers. The audio from this performance is from camera audio recorded during a playback in the control room. It synced very well to the tracking room footage!. It's always such a pleasure tracking live with a band . Jason Scheff is the lead singer and bassist in Chicago, and Phillipe Saisse is Al Dimeola's musical director and keyboard player. Randy Cooke also has an amazing list of credits..... You can see how much energy and joy comes from playing together with these bad asses!
Jason Scheff - Bass
Randy Cooke - Drums
Philippe Saisse - Piano

Just glad to see that all 4 of you are rocking Converse shoes. That may be the only thing I can do like Tim Pierce.
I just came back to this video. great groove! I got to work with Jason's Dad Jerry on a project before. What an honor! great guys!
Without fail, everytime I watch Tim play I find myself just sitting here with my mouth wide open, jaw on the floor. An average Joe like me also really enjoys videos like this one in particular, seeing "how the sausage is made" so to speak. To get a peak behind the curtain.
Great stuff as always Tim.
Randy always just keeps oozing with groove. Goes way back to his early Toronto funk days in the late 80's before hitting the rock scene and everything else that was thrown his way.
love to watch a musician like you playing with such authority and enjoyment. You don't just feel the music you are the music.
Nice Touch. Great Musicians. Killer Groove. I will keep watching. God bless all.
Randy Cooke is the man!
Bound to be a bathroom listening companion for years to come!
I always wanted to play like Eric Clapton. Now you are really my new mentor. Thanks for inspiring me to be a better guitar player.
I thought I had the best job in the world but then someone has to come along and confirm that I was wrong..... you have the best job...... great vid and great playing.. thanks for a rare look into behind the scenes.... cheers
Cool
I love the earthyness about your sound on the muted chords / piano solo
What a treat! Reminds me of Nuyorican Soul's "I am the black gold of the sun"
Loving this groove and can't wait to hear more. I have seen your name on so many liner notes with my favorite being Chauncy and Thank You for sharing this with us
My God what an amazing vibe. This is my favourite of all your videos.
Holy cow. The groove on this is infectious!
Fierce Pierce. You should make another album.

Watching this is making me say....”I got some work to do!!!! 💥🔥🔥🔥
OMG Tim... I was just going to say... OH WOW, Jason Scheff is looking a LOT like Tim Pierce these days.
love it! Hey Tim, it would be a great lesson to see how you play the chords in a track like this. Cheers
Randy always in the pocket!
Tim Pierce Really good guitar sound
Glenwood studios? Love that place. Is Kitty, the English lady still studio manager? The booth in that room is new, and there is usually a Piano in the room where the drums are at the back.
Oh, snap. Tim really out did himself with this one
Amazing solo, Tim!
Sounds great! But maaan that snare...😍👍🏻
Really great to see you all in action Tim. Much fun to watch this. Thanks for sharing.
Tim always killing it.
Sounds great!!
Great video as always.
Can't wait to hear some of your licks on the new Jeff Plankenhorn record I supported on Kickstarter!!!
Awesome Tim, what I like about you is you know how to start a solo and how to finish and where to give space in a song. The average white band did a fantastic version of this, i think on the second album :)
I've often wondered what It would it be like to have ideas go straight from your brain to the notes. Tim knows for sure
This is just freaking awesome. Thanks for the jams.
WOW! that's why i subscribed your channel!
great music.
Ah yes, the highly celebrated Randy Cooke, one of my all time favourite drummers.
Great playing as always.
These are real musicians,no crap factor going on here.
As always Tim ... you ROCK!
That Thinline Tele rules! Wish we could've seen you play it.

Who is that drummer!?!? We need a name. :) Amazing performances by all, no question!
Very nice
Can someone please explain ,and I've seen this quite often , why don't a lot of studios or guitarist have guitar stands ? Tims got a guitar just laying on the floor , seems a little risky to me.
Fine work Tim!
You guys sound great! Nice Studio
This guy's GOD. I man legit GOD
Shit what an awesome groove! 🤘🏼
What headphones Tim...can you advise? Great session, You could have been clearer/louder.
Sweet Jam!
Jason he is a really good bass player
Tim, you sound great! Do you know or remember what pickups were in your 335 at that time?
Real jammin!
Heck to the Heck Yeah \m/
fire
Phat!
awesome!!! Please do a video on your pedal board
Agreed, Tim, please do a video on your pedal board.
+schrom81 Yes I agree... no live looper/switcher?
Yes you're a great player,I know it's said that we never stop learning, True,Though there is a certain time,Only in the player's mind & fingers that must say,If I'm playing eg, What is on that record/cd, I'm doing so much better than last year. Your Thoughts please Tim..
masterful musicians and performance . always a privilege to see these in studio vids Tim. I have to ask: what mix is being fed to each of you in the phones? are you getting a click as well, because personally I hate them. I think a skillful musician should not need a click .. the drummer and bass player are the groove masters to follow. I see tube head to pedal board instead of say a Fractal box. more often than not. although I would love to have one tbh.
kasnitch Its impossible to record without click
MRSNIFFMEFINGA What do you mean? People record without a click track all the time.
Eric Rudd thanks Eric .. that is an excellent explanation . now I have more context and insight into the necessity of the click track. I'll work on transitioning the click from intrusive to beneficial . for some reason I have a dislike of the sound of a metronome. going to blame that on childhood piano lessons.
kasnitch Ahhhh, one of my favorite subjects... having been in the record making world for a long time I came up when clicks were the norm, the 80s. Learned how to play with them, love them for what they are, BUT, if you can put a solid rhythm section together that has phenomenal time, you don't need to for the sake of having things stay focused and feel good. Guess what? WE HAD NO CLICK ON THIS PERFORMANCE!
Part of what I'm striving for these days is to get back to a way of making music and records that has a shelf life. Why do was listen to music made in the 60's, 70's and 80s still? Because of the imperfections... the life it had before we started fixing everything. I love it all, I really do but what we did in the studio on this day was to have fun... we ran the song down and recorded it, sans click.
This is opening up a VERY GOOD conversation and reason to do more educational videos on this subject so stay tuned. Tim, myself and the rest of the gang are going to take you through this subject in great deal. It's an excellent question and I believe once you get the whole story of it music will make so much more sense! Thanks for the great comments... Jason Scheff
Jason Scheff thanks so much Jason ! I had seen another track done in that studio with Tim and there had been an audible click during the recording. that was why I had asked this time if the click was by headphone. I do get the reason for a click track to put all on the same time keeper. this particular time everyone seemed to play with something more from themselves .. more joy of music if you will .. less constrained by adhering to the track. I am going to be following you guys .. believe that.
