With ‘India Way’, he believes in establishing India as a country that brings its capacities to bear on the international system for global good. He further stresses the importance of India moving away from its past image, and transforming itself into a country that decides and shapes international discourse, and takes firm decisions. This man is becoming a legend in Foreign Affairs.
Will be remembered for long, for changing the image of India and taking the country through tough times.
How ?
Work volume and quality of work isn't the same thing my friend
There won't be any expansion in the UNSC.
No doubt , he will surpass all the former ministers
Indian govt is maligning it's image itself..if you think he is very competent then he might be but his ideology will be the same of RSS or modi as Modi govt can't tolerate any opposing argument.
Sh. Modi's biggest contribution to MEA is finding a person like Sh.Jaishanker at the helm of affairs. Very clear in his thoughts and delivery. No bravado, but a silent operator. I have no doubt our countries interests are in a safe hand.
Before Mr.Modi 2nd term, he was seen as a crisis manager in layman term acting as a foreign secretary with exceptional foreign diplomacy knowledge and also he is a close circle trust person in Modi's political spectrum along with NSA Ajit Doval. In a way I knew he's going to be as EAM before Loksabha election.
Absolutely agreed
Yes...truly deserving person for this post....
Aye aap Modi haters ko bataye to accha hai.
My takeaway : We shud define ourselves rather than be defined by others.
It will be worst in capitalist also....
@@reardelt What's your definition of backward?
And the loot by the British n Congress is documented so its not an excuse.
@@34kaushik The Chinese were also looted by westerners/Japanese. Are the Chinese poor now and still complaining about their poverty? The Chinese are now strong with a per capita GDP of $20,000. Indians are still stuck at $8000
Have we really started defining ourselves seriously ? By the way no point patting our own back. When others define us it is more than likely to be genuine and universally appreciated to boot. Tooting our own horn can only take us so far.
@@reardelt Let me add another whining Indian, thats me. I am bellyaching now about a bureaucrat turned politician who is a staunch supporter of everything that Indians are protesting against right now, that is internationally condemned, tarnishing Indian credential as democracy and he is the man who is supposed to firefight it. This duality of role is surely a right reason to complaint about. It is a conflict of interest.
Listening to this man is like listening to a poetry about world affairs and India's vision about it. Such clarity 👌
his vision. India has a messy, unclear one
@@MontyGumby ha ha wish you could have understood
@@nikhilkamal9785 oh i understand
Shivay rightly said he is poet of INDIA on World forum
Sorry Shivam
“Are we going to define ourselves or let others define us and I think it the first one, that’s the outlook of my government and the party”
how precisely he defines and sums up the entire conversation. Hats off to him and Great to have the best person as EAM.
@30:53 Question: "hello, sir. I am Prakhar Kumar, an aspiring civil servant"
That smile on MEA's face :)
omg i noticed the same... that smile is once in a lifetime kinda smile Sir.
This is the best platform for youths to increase their sense ability
We are having a good one....Please understand...Slowdown is pushed on us....all the automobile manufacturing organisations.....They need to adopt....just check, if you can get a vehicle you want...they are cleaning stocks.....now with BOV's. This is is acceptable....
@Paritosh Jadhav how about you learn to share your opinion without being an undiluted asshole? Also, his usage of sensibility is not incorrect within the context of his sentence.
People with low attention span and low iq are not interested in these things. U talk about these things with them, u will be labelled as uncool or maybe a Bhakt😂
@Rishi Lalwani Yeah i know that's crazy... but that's an experience
He’s a very good example for the younger generation to aspire…sit down with your family, listen and discuss issues….the world admires this man’s intellect…. His strength is what India needs….best administration since Independence….congratulations India…..Jai Hind…🙂❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸
This anchor is criticising instead of doing his job but our minister has given very much clear and polite answers
that is the problem with most Indian's who have become Anglicized beyond repair be it by immigrating to the West or studying in a Western school etc.
The Minister too respects Mr. Saran. Every interviewer must be tough but fair; this also allows the respondent to shine through his answers. But I guess you'd prefer sycophants like Akshay Kumar to conduct all interviews.
Criticizing is a interviewer's job. Do you suppose he acts as a mouthpiece for the minister?
Actually, an anchor is supposed to raise questions on both sides of the issues….that’s how you bring out the best of your guests….the MEA is an intellectual, very tactful, and an experienced diplomat….. ‼️⁉️⁉️🇺🇸
S Jayaskahar is truly the best foreign minister we have had in the last few decades. Well done Modi for bringing such gems into public life!
He was with Sushma Swaraj not by Midi
I think सुषमा स्वराज were best
I am very impressed with his diplomacy skills shown approximately in more than 25 countries during the service of the Indian Ambassador.
World Class Diplomate S jaishanker Sirr 🙏🙏
India way: 1. 'Stabilizing power' rather than disruptive
2. Decider rather than abstainer
3. Just power, fair power, standard bearer of South
4. Brand India
All of these are vague woolly tinsel words unless the pointed and questions such as what, when how in what kind of time frame are tangibly addressed. Wistful pipedream unless knuckle down to it in earnest. Plausible but nothing to sing and dance about yet.
Monoj Das-Gupta - u are obviously on the old thinking which is what India is trying to get away from - you are a pessimist.. a mindless slave mentality
Monoj Das-Gupta you wrote many things, but said nothing.
@@monojdas-gupta5918 What was India's foreign policy before Jaishankar? It is better to have some words that anchor you than get carried away wherever the wind blows you. These are strategic positions, not tactical plans.
@@anukreddi Mere words would not anchor you to anything unless backed up by knuckle down work. For that it is too early to judge Minister Jaishankar either way. No counting of chicken before it has hatched.
Very impressive. I am proud of India and its foreign policy.
Prem Anand just being proud is not enough, research and know what we need to understand about India and its relation with the world
We should also have finance minister like him with same clarity.
Arun Jaitley is sorely missed 😢
I like the cabinate now a day too but just want to replace nirmalaji with Dr. Manmohan sing
Waiting for Subramanyam Swami
Swamy ji
mk patel manmohan? The joker who caused one major scam every month? Are you crazy?
Great clarity in his thoughts. High time we start appointing professionals and subject matter experts as ministers in the government.
🇮🇳👍 Without doubt we can proudly say India have an extremely capable EAM..🇮🇳🙏
सुनिल के has
The last line summed up the intentions very clearly and most aptly. Me.Jaishankar is the best fit and hope he achieves most of his 'to do list' during his tenure.
Indeed appreciative of the Ministers simple and lucid style of coming across on complex subjects of India's Foreign policy and its impact in the short and medium term on the way India will be viewed as an emerging economy/democracy.
I wish to know if there is a mechanism in inviting the honest views of the Indias Overseas Diaspora on the perceived change of India's image. They too our Indias ambassadors of India with a valuable voice.
ashok bansal the Indian diaspora is not important, they should only matter if they serve Indian interests
Chinese diaspora does more for China than Indian diaspora does
Other than singing in tune with whites and bitching about India, Indian diaspora hasn’t done much for India
India is not just a country it's a feeling
An awesome intellect at the helm of our foreign affairs. Frank articulation of views is his hallmark!
As a career diplomat of India and now as a EAM, This guy is more unpredictable than ever.
He is the gold mine for civil service aspirants 😊
Thank god for this forum. A huge country such as India deserves such a forum where dignitaries from all over the world come and discuss things. Better late than never
@ishant 7 it is organised combinly with Indian Ministry of external affairs.
29:45.... Mr JaiShankar killed it 😃😃😃 this is the real Indian Ethos 🤣🤣🤣
Comparing In Last 70 Years in India

Today Indian Government Is Best Hard Working And Honesty!
Clarity of thoughts, clarity of position, holistic vision on issues, not willing to take BS from others while staying humble. He puts India first without sounding arrogant or being naive. Well done sir!
Very few of Indian politicians are truly worth to be called a politician in actual sense. Mr. Jaishankar is one such example. We need much more like him✌️ very insightful talk, gives a comprehensive sneak peek into Indian Foreign policy & strategic partnership.
Jaishankar is World Class
Great clarity and crystal clear understanding .Hopefully our EAM will find some time from his busy schedule to speak in Indian universities they are literally producing robots..
After retirement
Yeah that's not gonna happen. They'll just boo him out and won't even let him speak. Remember what happened to Swapan Dasgupta when he went to speak at Viswa Bharti University?
Some severa indoctrination is taking place in Indian universities which needs to be addressed in a firm manner.
Indian universities are finished .. no hope
@prabhat brother, forward to 2022, we found new strengths like jsd sir, & my intution says, we are all iin similar prediction now, where nationalist people are learning the Indic civilizational values of dharma - law of land, humanity, karma, mukthi, while choosing professions that vibrate with them, which output - peace n harmony for world over nations, but it seems, as extremism n intolerance growing with kaliyuga times, i pray that all the humans in world get oppurtunity to experience spirituality n become conscious beings - where humanity n al inclusiveness will remain core of our personality n will resonate in our discourses, policies, decisions be it in regional national or international relations .
I found peace when I re-discovered myself. Natural, loving and constantly learning.💠
If I were Jayashankar, I would have asked the journalist, "why should I answer your questions, if you are not interested in my answers?"
That's why he is the EAM and you are not...
@@hereis2u Haha. I'm in 20s and he is in 60s. How can you compare us.
Even you r not EAM. What's wrong with you then?
Thank You 🙏Very Much Indian Voters !!
We Give Full Majority So Modiji Put Right Man In Right Place !!
Precise, apt, circumspect yet sufficiently open. A legend in the making in foreign policy and affairs
Great optimist and visionary on ‘India Global’.India cannot be a prisoner of her ancient but a visionary because She was a mother to all the contemporary
Civilisations.
Thank you sir.
Fantastic. Not one but defensive when asked about Kashmir and CAA
He said-“Terrorism, Separatism, migration and naturalisation” these are common challenges to countries all over the world. I would ask them to reflect on this and how they would deal them. He went on to explain and in the end he said, the Qn is, do we allow others to dictate to us or do we make our own decisions. Very well said Sir. Couldn’t have been better 👍🏼
Great ! It is always a pleasure to listen to Dr.S.Jaishankar or his illustrious father , the former India's Defence Secretary and a doyen of India's defence strategy .
"The something was the 7 people sitting here" Why does the Interviewer feel the need to be rude???? Surely lack of civility and a display of your inherent crassness is not proof of your journalistic ability. Minister for External Affairs, S. Jaishankar makes me proud to think he represents our country for foreign affairs however I hope and pray the interviewer is a non-Indian.
Raja M If you watched the inaugural session of Raisina Dialogue 2020 on 14th you would have not written this down. Dr. Jaishankar also knew he was asking a good question. Samir Saran and EAM has a good chemistry in such dialogues.
@KAPIL AZAD look I have watched many interviews of Samir Saran and 3 with Dr. JAISHANKAR. I can tell you with absolute satisfaction that if you feel he was being rude, he was not. Maybe the tone went wrong for some but intention wasn't to mock him. He is a senior fellow at ORF, those people are very organized and civil. I don't agree that he was being rude intentionally. But I respect your opinion.
@KAPIL AZAD ORF has been mostly positive on the Kashmir issue and if you listened that one of his correspondent is from NDTV then I should tell you one of their correspondents is Kanchan Gupta and one of them is Dhruva Jaishankar.
@KAPIL AZAD oh come on yaar. Does everyone have to be Modi supporter everywhere for you to like? I don't like either NDTV or Zee News but some of their journalist in personal capacity are very good.
ORF is a initiative to study and research Indian foreign policy and it is backed by Govt of India indirectly
@KAPIL AZAD true that. I support Modi but they can't be always right. For some he can't be wrong ever and for some he can't be right ever.
Sad state of affairs.
Brilliant speech..the last line says it all 'Bharath has started defining herself and stopped limiting herself by others' definition"..And all this thanks to the modi government...thanks Modi ji....
Sir S Jayshankar - you are pride of India n a crown jewel in India's foreign policy...
Thats nc statement "r we going to define ourselves or let the other define us ".... Nc sir👍👍🇮🇳✔️
1:10 "Let me start with what is not the India way"
and Foreign minister of Iran enters
Hahaha
He is a wonderful person I do respect him from my bottom of heart
He is the best Minister in Modi Cadre, studied from JNU.
Not jus the commies study at JNU!! Even people with sense and maturity do.
JNU has no role in his genius , he would be same if he went somewhere else .
He being from jnu does not washes the fact that JNU is a jehadi commie den feeding parasites and needs to be shut .
He is 60 year man who learned from his experience over 40 years that makes him wat he us today not some shityy MA or PHD degree from some University .
Wait for the Delhi Election, Left will be out from the JNU Completely
If the Indian emigrants from USA and Europe would return home India would be a real superpower. They have many scientist and successful people, but they work for other countries making them even richer and more powerful, while India lags behind.
That was the way China summoned most the top scientists and professors living aboard returned home.New research centers and unlimited funding
I AM SURE INDIANS WILL NOT FORGET THIS GUY EASILY AS HE HELPED THE NATION THROUGH THE TOUGHEST TIMES.❤️❤️
I think all of us Indians irrespective of our differences agree with Dr. Jaishankar on what is India's way. He is speaking the mind of an average Indian.
Best foreign ministry India ever had
Best foreign policy was made by i k gujral. Still followed
Sushma Swaraj
Dr Jaishankar is the gem India has produced. Totally taken by his arguments. No wonder he is considered one of the best diplomats of the world.
Bang on spot! We never dared do anything that we thought would undermine our image as a "tolerant", "liberal", "secular", "socialist", "" democratic" country. We concerned about our image, not about what is good for the country. PM Modi is changing that. He does what he believes is in national interest. At personal level too he never pretended to be what he is not. He never tried to hide that he is a practising hindu.
Mr Jaishankar is setting new benchmarks in foreign affairs to achieve. He is excellent, smart and knowledgeable person with farsightedness. Thanks Jaishankarji. Take care India needs you. We are proud of you as a citizen of this great country
Great representation from our EMA Shri Jaishankar Ji . 🙏🙏🙏🇮🇳
Sometimes, the Indian Foreign and Civil services throws out a rare Gem. Hats off to Shri Namo for spotting and bringing it to the fore
As always a pleasure to listen minister Jaishankar
Very knowlegable and admirable person representing India on the world stage.
Jai Hind 🇮🇳🙏👍
Splendid response by our external affairs minister, Mr.S. Jaishankar.
Hi Jaishankar you are the best 👍
‘BRAND INDIA’ to Indian Diaspora outside is great Idea. India centric world may not be a curse but a bless provided INDIA becomes positive. Thank you.
Very nicely put. Proud to know that now India is in good hands with good governance finally.
Jaishankar sir is simply superb. India is fortunate to have such a gr8 personality.
The most desrespecting interviewer I ever witnessed... so rude, watching clock and unable to create a good conversation from his end.... it's like watching a paid interviewer pushing question having some hidden agenda.
On the other hand thank you so much Jaishankar sir for amazing replies... proud that we are having such a brilliant leadership in foreign ministry.
What you are telling us is that our PR sucks. It is up to us to learn and extol the values of our country. Thank you Jaishankar ji
Imagine pappu/Lalu and family/akhilesh/commies sitting at Jaishankar's place 😬

Rock Star Jaishankar, (with all due respect) you are rocking.
The interviewer is getting on my nerves.
10:13 Moment when the biased host eats his own words and is left fumbling and speechless!
Two very important questions were asked by the the great ladies. These questions has been in resonance with my thoughts in last few years.
I would like to hear our FM on this topic.
Dr shankar is very smart n best among all
Someone should cut the last question and create a separate video with a catchy title. He has some pretty interesting answers.
we need more diplomats than Illiterate politicians at crucial ministry position
Diplomats should remain diplomat because politicians are way beyond who could connect with people.
@Sheetal verma no diplomats give the nation more preference
Sahitya Sharma ...yeah dude, but UPA govt is gone. 😂😜
I mean that is given. The real question is how to bring about that..
Excellent diplomat...absolute straight face and no one will be able to guess who he is really thinking/ feeling...best chrasterstic of an diplomant..keep your cards close to chest...👍👍👍
Aspirations and inspiration to IFS affairs...🙏🏻🙏🏻
Great to hear an INTELLIGENT Minister.
Imagine if india's finance minister would be of same caliber as jaishankar
swami proposed scraping of income tax which is not viable according to me because it doesn't matter how much income tax is coming but people investing future oriented policy to safe taxes which provide million of job across India in insurance company
Things will get better within a year. Just bcz Sitharaman isn't charismatic doesn't mean she's not doing her job. Some changes are hard but are for better.
Firstly indian economy grows at 8.2 at current pace
STRONGLY agreed but then again that's what many think about themselves since everyone changes but perceptions do slower.
That's badass...! "Realism is a political science term and not a diplomatic term"..... Impressed.. He had got ball to reach at the new equilibrium at world affairs with India's policy being characterised of being and active and influencer one rather passive and abstainer one!
Instead of commenting 'we need more ministers like him', we should study and just become one....we are the youth and future, and we should become the change we want to see.
He is a very important person. More important than you can imagine
Jayshankar is a sureshot indication....that INDIA is changing
Sir jayshankar is a blessing to us. Thank God for him
The image that was imposed upon by Britishers.
Indians let the British impose it upon themselves. No one forced India to impose it
British left Indian shores 70 yrs before. China and South Koreans don't blame Japan for their failures - that is why they are superpowers while India remains a shit impoverished nation.
@@waverider1674 lol sk and china both hate japan ,and currently india is doing better than shithole 😁,which will not exist within 20 years.
This is why Indians are poor. They have an easy answer for their poverty - "The British did this. The British did that".
The Chinese didn't let anyone impose anything upon them.

P.S:: We have to beat back the bastardly mainstream media which is destroying our self-confidence and grow our spines back! That is the key to becoming a great power once again!!
Great to hear jaishankar
Such a powerful statement and harsh truth "India is prisoner of its part"
Anchor was traditional always trying to put question in a provoking manner BUT EAM was balanced and gave rational answer or rather mind blowing answers.
Girish Garware not traditional, just an arrogant but extremely stupid leftist
### Nice speech.. Modi Goverments biggest achievement has been in Foreign policy Front.
Proud of you Jaishankar sir.

All right answers.. Lovely!
Jaishankar is playing diplomatic card smartly.
🙏 great really S jaishankar Sir
Cynical. Provocative. And a singular lack of good grace characterized the Anchor. Like he had a chip on his shoulder. We could have done better. S.Jaishanker more than lived up to his reputation of being a Statesman for India, as we come into our own.
