A friend of mine has one of those, a white Cummins from the same era and literally has 600K miles. His truck looks fantastic as yours does. He is a little older, and at one time was on the board at Pennzoil. You’re in good company.
the Truly impressive thing about this truck is the lack of rust on the underbody and how sanitary the interior is! Hey TFL this is a great video. Love to see more builds like this. The first parts store I worked in, all of us on the counter had project cars and trucks. We spent all of our money on them. I had an 93 F150. There was 3 Cummins trucks that owners worked at the store too. We all helped each other build our projects. Kases truck looks great, I am a huge fan of the "Classics" myself. I have a 1994 Chevrolet Suburban 2500 4x4 that I plan on doing a budget restoration on myself, the truck has been in the family since 1997 so she has a special place in my heart. Keep up the good work!
Man!!! You really know what a real truck is all about. Real men own and drive trucks with a manual transmission and not automatic. I like that you said : you only need AC , heater and a good working radio in your truck. You do not need all the fancy crap that car companies push on people. I own older trucks with a manual transmission. I hope to see more videos of your cool truck, keep up the good work!
I love seeing second-gen dodge trucks in good condition like this. You see so many Ram 1500, 2500, 3500, and Dodge Dakota (“baby ram”) trucks that are beat like red-headed step children. I’ve got an second gen Dakota with 211k miles on it, and it’s in pretty much the same shape as this here 2500, and it started my love for 90s and 2000s dodge trucks. ❤️
Nice job, Kace. That’s a beautiful truck updated just right to where you can drive it daily and not panic over things like scratching an expensive paint job.
You did a great job bud, I've been restoring my 1981 Chevy Silverado long bed going on almost 4 years. I've done all the work myself. Getting closer to finishing it and I'm so ready to get behind the wheel again
I’m restoring my work truck little by little as well. It’s a 99 ram 1500 with the 360 V-8 and 294,000 miles, about 50k on the transmission. I’ve already went back to the original front bumper, headlights and grille, as well as painted and installed a new tailgate, quieter exhaust, and so much other stuff. I had always wanted one of these trucks but never found one quite good enough to fix up. Most were already too far gone.
Thanks, Kase, good review. Nice restoration and not modification. Who remembers when Dodge began putting Cummins diesel in their pickups? Fords and Chevys had their own. Every review said the Cummins diesel (good for 500k miles) would outlive the body by 300k.
Clean. I have a 2001. Installed the BD track bar many years ago, my bracket fits the same. No issues. Upgrade the steering to the later model "T" style from 03-08.
I made little slide show and idle video of my 94 dodge 6bt12vcummins. Awesome work, nice to see another 94 6 in a row and ready to tow... I think carli and synergy make some of the best suspension/steering geometry components for our trucks. I dont use mine as my daily, its more my tow rig when i need it. Its funny how i just got done restoring my 94 body/frame like 4 weeks ago with new suspension, brakes system, steering linkage, bumpers, grill, and all the lights. My interior needs attention. I know a guy who has a 55 stepside body i been wanting to swap on my 94 frame some day down the road.
Leave the stock body on it Kasey. This truck was a milestone and a trendsetter for the full size truck market for years to come.
