Hi tamer Sorry my english is not good at all i just want to ask if what i understood is right or not so it originated in Egypt and it developed by ghawazis who mixed their moves with Egyptian folks and it came out as this am i right?
Hi Tara Black, I'm so glad you like you video and thank you so much for your question.❤️️ Belly dancing belongs to many countries and communities across the eastern world. Therefore, we cannot say that this art form is exclusive to Egypt. On the other hand, in our culture, there is no type of dance that specifically relates to the abdominal part of the body, except for 'Raqs Sharqi,' which translates to 'Oriental dance' in English. There are many stories about the art of Belly dance and how this term came to be. The most common story is that when the French campaign entered Egypt and saw the dancers performing in the streets, they coined this term. Another story speaks of two Egyptian dancers who went to Paris in the last century. When people there saw them, a journalist used this term to describe them. We still do not know who these dancers were or to which category they belonged-perhaps the Ghawazi or the Gypsies, as these were the most famous dance groups at the time. therefore, we can't say that Belly dancing art originated or belongs to Ghawazi family or Gypsy tribes.
@TamerAziz thank u so much and thanks for your response to me, l really appreciate it, I was wondering because Egypt is really famous with belly dancing and I just moved to Egypt to study in al Azhar and also learn Arabic language and I wanted to learn about the Egyptian culture and wanted to ask u if belly dance considered a cultural dance in Egypt or not and if there are any other cultural /folkloric dances of Egypt
Hi Jasmine, There is a city in China that is famous for its dances similar to oriental dance, and I wanted to travel to it when I was in China, but most of my friends warned me against going there alone. Unfortunately, I completely forgot it's name.
@@TamerAzizI think you might be thinking of somewhere in the Xinjiang Province, maybe Urumqi (since it’s the capital)? I learned a bit of that style of dance when I was a little girl, a very beautiful style, I can definitely see the similarity between that and oriental dance
Obrigada ❤️
You're very welcome, dear D' Cassia!❤️️ Don't hesitate to write me any question related to this topic.❤️️
