It’s because the hobby and passion has now been taken over by speculators and investors. Rolex has priced me out of the market. Besides, while I respect Rolex, there are better and more interesting, and more fun options out there.

Just when you think that the macro shots couldn't get any better, this channel pleasantly surprises you!
For $3,000, this watch is an absolute steal IMO, given the way it looks and with the presence of a GMT complication (I'm aware this is not a "traveller's" GMT). I think the ETA 2893-2 is a solid calibre at this price point.

AP Royal Oak’s using 2121’s, Rolex Daytona’s used Zenith El Primero’s for a decade, Patek 5970 and the famed Speedmaster used Lemania’s.
In-house movements weren’t even a thing until all of a sudden they were. Maybe in part thanks to the watch elitists of social media. There are lots of good watches with ETA, Sellita, Lemania and of course JLC movements. And Price is subjective to the buyer at the end of the day, hopefully it brings people joy regardless of whether every part was made in a workshop at Mont Blanc.

The only downside with Mont Blanc is that they make HUGE watches! If they want a dressing watch, keep it around 37mm-38mm with a lug to lug span under 46mm. When I try it on it always feels it is too big and feels less elegant compare to what they did to the dial. Also, the lack of transparent display caseback really kills the deal. It would have been nice to see the Minerva movements finish.

Once you have that information or even without that information, you should still be able to deduce with your own studying (If you're buying a watch you'll know about it, same with phones and audio gear etc) You need to see the person as just a passer of information and not a guide, too often I see this and it's like yeah fair point but that's his own wants and biases, ultimately you just need to look at it from your own perspective and not just listen to someone else's.

@@m0stafa Americans pronounce every single Swiss brand differently, Russian the same, Chinese the same. You just need to get out a little more. I don't force people to pronounce my name like I do in my original language because I was fairly educated by my parents, which I thank them. Its called politeness.

@@panaceiasuberes6464 He is pronouncing Jaeger-LeCoultre the way it should be in the video linked below, not pronouncing it "Yager LeCoultre", you should have referenced how Saudis call GMC (JEMS) to support your argument 🤣, I understand Americans live in a bubble, but this is a bit too far, your absolute unwillingness to pronounce brand names correctly shows that you are a true American or deserve an American passport ASAP ;). You are a free soul, I am sure you will enjoy your next luxury shopping spree while salesmen are giggling, money can definitely help you buy luxury brands but it can't buy you the willingness to learn. ua-cam.com/video/NatJXCV-RN8/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Watchfinder%26Co.

I don't like new Montblanc logo for the watch. In my opinion the company should use 2 logos that the same logo as the company pen for modern watch and this logo for retro & classic watch. Putting Montblanc Star on the dial is very outstanding, elegant and easy to notice what the watch brand is.

While it is certainly a beautiful watch, I just wish they didn't put the Minerva factory image on the back. Minerva movements are used in high-end Montblanc watches, but this watch is from their entry level line up and uses an ETA movement. It's disingenuous to imply that this watch was produced in Villeret along with their $20k+ watches, when it was actually produced somewhere else (although still in Switzerland) and uses a third-party movement.

The thing is that these watches are Minerva watches with the Mont Blanc logo, not a bad combination. I guess they would have been held in higher regard if they had kept the Minerva name on the dial, but that may change? It takes time to build a good name in watches. Mont Blanc has time...
