    The Bills defensive secondary is pretty bad. If Mark Andrews didn't drop two balls, they would have been eliminated in the previous game. They will never ever beat the Chiefs without getting better DBs

    • @retrocny5625
      @retrocny5625 7 днів тому +6

      Disagree on the ravens aspect, like I get it...we can talk about maybe it's tied if andrews catches the ball but there's no guarantee ravens see OT even in that scenario. It's ok to put blame on Andrews for his drops but by the same token, it's only right to give the bills some flowers for their job stopping the henry run. They knew that the Ravens had a MUCH worse record whenever Henry didn't have 100 rushing yards in a game, and they committed to holding him under 100 and they were successful. For that undersized defensive front to do that, they had to really go above and beyond and they did. Also gotta give flowers to their LB who peanut punched the ball out of Andrews hands. Should Andrews not have fumbled it? Of course. Was it still a great play by that linebacker? Absofuckinglutely lol. Flawless punch out.
      But I do agree on the DBs part. Their secondary is just extremely bad and they've taken a big leap backwards with the loss of Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer as their safetieis. Benford is a good corner who's getting better, Taron Johnson is a good nickel but he's 29 years old and aging out fast. The rest of their secondary is mid af to downright awful. The guy Elam is a total bust, and he was a 1st round pick. Rasul Douglas used to be solid but he's regressed as he's hit 30 years old now. A lot of bad play from him this year, holding penalties, dpis, no picks this year when last year he had several... etc. They need another outside corner in the worst way, preferably two in case one of them goes down.
      Taylor Rapp is a decent serviceable strong safety, but Hamlin is not a starting safety in this league. Love his story, love that he was able to make it and continue playing football, but he's not at all what you want in a free safety. Not great in coverage. He's undersized, and he's pretty slow honestly. Neither Rapp or Hamlin are ball hawks that are looking for the ball. They get picks when it lands in their lap but they're not out there ball hawking like both Micah Hyde and Poyer used to. Both of those guys had sideline to sideline coverage range, neither of their current safeties do.
      They just don't have any gamechangers on that defense. They don't have a Chris Jones or McDuffie, or a Kyle Hamilton, Marlon Humphrey or Roquan Smith. They're gonna have to make some moves in free agency or potentially make a splash trade, and they REALLY need to hit on their draft picks this year. And this isn't even getting into their issue where they still very much lack a true vertical threat receiver on that offense. A guy who can stretch the field and keep defenses honest. No team is afraid of their receivers at all. Nobody to gameplan for. And yet they still made it to the AFC title game and were one score away from a super bowl, so obviously they have a lot of ways they can improve.

After the third down play was marked short they didn’t ask for a measurement or challenge the spot. They hurried to the line of scrimmage to try to catch the Chiefs off guard and snapped the ball with 30 seconds still on the play clock. They were too aggressive and not thoughtful enough.

    The corruption once again CRUSHED the hearts of die hard Bills fans who have never won a Super Bowl, had the longest streak in NFL history without making the playoffs and haven't been to the Super Bowl in 31 years. Now we finally once again have a Super Bowl caliber team but we apparently cant get back to the big show largely due to officiating corruption. And the Chiefs should not have even been the #1 seed. They won every close game because every critical call goes their way. So the Bills even though we beat KC in the regular season had to settle for 2nd seed, fight their way to the AFC championship including having to take out the Ravens, to then have to once again play the corrupt Chiefs in their hometown, while the Chiefs got a bye, then a relatively easy game and are back at home for the championship with their trained zebras. Its disgusting and absolutely gut wrenching for The Bills and all their fans who deserve better after decades upon decades of heartbreak.

      In my daily life, I realize that my employees are sometimes amazing and every once in a while they make mistakes. It’s called being human.
      I’m agnostic about ref calls (no matter if they negatively impact my team), because I think my team should be good enough for the imperfections of the refs not to be dispositive.
      In your example , there was also a declined flag for a Bills penalty. So the net effect is 15 yards. Not nothing. But not everything.
      The Bills fumbled four times, and missed several dispositive catches-especially with 3:33 left on the clock and 3 time outs. They lost because they were not good enough.
