Bantayan is probably my favourite place in the Phils. Visited in 2010 and it looks like it’s really changed since then. It was so quiet when I went but the local expats were so friendly they’d come up to you and want to know all about you. I rented a motorbike and rode around the island. Very relaxing. Hopefully I’ll be back in the Philippines soon and get back to Bantayan. Thanks for the video.

Hihi as a filipino, we didn't perceive paradise as an island. Or heaven as an tropical hot island with blue waters. Hihi we perceive heaven as clouds up there. So it's new and weird to us that our islands are heavenly. Thanks for that new insight 😊 much 💓 from cebu
Some Filipino's told me it was a paradise. It pretty common to describe something amazing as heavenly, even food (chocolate!). Anyhow we all see things differently. Bottom line is that Bantayan is amazing! Have you been there?

The afternoons it can bucket down with rain for 10 mins or so, then sunny again. A few weeks ago it was just blue skys. Still paradise for me. Mango shakes are waiting for you!

The government has been keeping coy of late, earlier on in the year they were saying how the 2nd half of the year thousands of tourists would be back. They have gone quiet of late. There have been setbacks, the daily number of cases has got worse than better, new strains of the virus. It seems to point more likely next year. I saw this article - kinda shows even regional goverments are in the dark as to what Manila is thinking. newsinfo.inquirer.net/1425035/mayor-seeks-entry-of-vaccinated-foreigners-to-lapu-lapu-city. Who knows maybe vaccinated tourists maybe the first to be allowed to enter. I have been monitoring here but there hasn't really been a lot of news out of the government.
I finally made it to Bantayan! I was so excited but then I realized it's one thing to get your information from the internet and another thing to see the place for yourself and make your own judgement and conclusion. In the resort where I stayed, the resort owner kept their beachfront clean but if you just take a short walk away from the place where I was booked, you will see large areas with plastic bags, cups, bottles, etcetera and even a diaper washed up on shore during low tide. I hope the locals living there and the government officials in charge does something about this. I feel bad not much effort is done to preserve the place. Personally, I find the port to be a distraction and an eyesore to be located so near a place where you want to spend vacation away from the city.
Yeah trash is a huge problem in the Phils. I have seen some places making improvements but it's still got a long way to go. I find it with the mindset of the poorer who just don't care. They will just throw their trash away without a worry in the world. I think it's a matter of just of educating them. I know a lot of Filipinos who do care and are proud of their beautiful islands. It's only a smaller group ruining it. When I visited many years ago I did see people going around collecting rubbish off the beach (not the resort's workers), not sure if they are still doing that. I would be interested to go back to Bantayan as it was 3 years ago I did those videos It was when pandemic was still on. There weren't many tourists travelling back then.
Cheers. I stayed in Bantayan for a couple months, I was out filming nearly every day and I didn't get time to edit. Im actually back for a couple more weeks. I can already see there's a change in the weather now. It can bucket down in rain for 10 mins and then sunny again.When I was here a few weeks back, it was just blue sky. @@FindingParadise I’ve been diving since 1973 when I was 13 hrs old with my dad. Last year I snorkeled with my wife’s family around Romana Alar Beach, Pura Vida Resort, Antulang Resort & Apo Island last year, but will be diving when I come back in 2022. It’s so beautiful under the water out there.

@@FindingParadise I found it OK, but one of the tricks is to depart at 0700 or even earlier if one can from Cebu City because this helps to minimise the city traffic the bus must battle. Depart at say 1000 and with the shopping malls open, even though in theory one is travelling 'against the traffic', the bus can be forced to slow to a crawl for many kilometres. The roadside toilet stop is from what I recall pretty basic. I also like to sit near the front of the bus as those seats can have a bit more legroom, as seat pitch on public transport in Asia can be uncomfortable for taller Westerners.

From Cebu you don't. All you need is a qr code which the hotel/resort emails you once you have booked . On arrival they just test you temp at the pier and that's all.
My friend when youre eating seafoods like that its better you brink a liitle bit of beer or licquor. to neatralise just in case that may cause youre digestion disturbed
If you are referring to weather, all I can is what generally what happens. What it was previous Januarys may not like this January. The last couple of years have been more wet than usual who knows what it will be next January. From previous times its been generally ok. When it rains its normally not the huge downpours that you get in October. There’s been an El Nino forming in the Pacific recently which usually means drier conditions to be expected It’s really too hard to predict weather just go and enjoy your holiday

Im actually back on the island for a couple more weeks. Had to go to Mandaue renew my visa and go to dentist. The weather is slowly changing, bit of rain now. Humidity going up a bit, the red horse helps though! Still paradise! Hope you enjoy it, cheers

Yes it is! There's a number of nice places on the beach to stay and eat. Florida is more expensive to do that 😉Next time you come to Cebu you should put it on your list of places to visit with your mrs.
I've been to this island once, and visited major towns on the island (apart from Sta. Fe) plus Virgin Island, but not elsewhere. Your videos continue to be first class: showing locations as they are, with an excellent mix of ground level and drone footage. Your commentary is terrific: interestingly factual, but not too 'gushy'. Great work.

My filipina wife has relatives who live in Bantayan Island. I've been there a few times myself since 2005. A lot of people flock to the Island during Holy Week (Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday), around March or April, when school kids are on summer break
I agree. This video somewhat sticks out from all the recent videos out here of Bantayan Island. We just went there during the Holy Week, 6 days and 5 nights. Bantayan waters are its biggest attraction, clear and clean and turquoise. The only place we missed to visit was Baigad Lagoon from too much time spent in Virgin Island. But definitely another reason to go back again and again. Thanks for the great video Rob. God bless. Next time, you should do waterfalls hopping in South Cebu as most waterfalls now are open again fo walk-in visitors.

Our plan is to move there soon and retire, wife is from Cebu and we love it there, our favorite place in all the Philippines.

Im actually back on the island for a couple more weeks. Had to go to Mandaue renew my visa and go to dentist. The weather is slowly changing, bit of rain now. Humidity going up a bit, the red horse helps though! Still paradise! Hope you enjoy it, cheers

Yes it is! There's a number of nice places on the beach to stay and eat. Florida is more expensive to do that 😉Next time you come to Cebu you should put it on your list of places to visit with your mrs.
I've been to this island once, and visited major towns on the island (apart from Sta. Fe) plus Virgin Island, but not elsewhere.
Your videos continue to be first class: showing locations as they are, with an excellent mix of ground level and drone footage. Your commentary is terrific: interestingly factual, but not too 'gushy'. Great work.

My filipina wife has relatives who live in Bantayan Island. I've been there a few times myself since 2005. A lot of people flock to the Island during Holy Week (Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday), around March or April, when school kids are on summer break
Yeah it's a nice place and Easter it completely changes to a very busy place.
I agree. This video somewhat sticks out from all the recent videos out here of Bantayan Island. We just went there during the Holy Week, 6 days and 5 nights. Bantayan waters are its biggest attraction, clear and clean and turquoise. The only place we missed to visit was Baigad Lagoon from too much time spent in Virgin Island. But definitely another reason to go back again and again. Thanks for the great video Rob. God bless. Next time, you should do waterfalls hopping in South Cebu as most waterfalls now are open again fo walk-in visitors.
