Ha! Ha! I noticed that too. I heard him do that once in reference to the JFK assassination --he spoke condescendingly of "conspiracy theorists". It struck me as hilarious that Terence of all people would adopt a highbrow view! Your term "grounded killjoy" is an excellent coinage!
Hearing this and seeing what's going on in the u.s. with tucker and the media makes this somewhat prophetic ironically.

I find his "explanation" of crop circle phenomena bewildering at the very least.
Any air force that requires a lot of money from government and provides the assurance that air space is secure, cannot officially acknowledge that intrusions occur that cannot be explained. It would create political pressure and raise questions about problems for which they have no remedy. There is an explanation, but that is not for public consumption.
I worked for the US government in AREA 51. I had to sign a contract stating I can not reveal anything I saw, learned, or knew from being inside AREA 51.

Actually agree with sheldrakes position more than mckennas in this exchange, he’s probably correct in the assumption that most of these phenomena are government perpetrated though.

This is an impelling dialogue with three of the most interesting people in the 1990’s showing that modernity may be the alien force that is already implementing itself by the media itself. The idea of center controlled entity being in charge is to miss the gestalt.
The most obvious thing to me is that since this talk 32 years ago the drama and trauma has only increased in scope and intensity. What we are to do is still not anything in motion or planned to be necessary for a change of paradigm.

My feeling in this moment, and I don't think this necessarily runs counter to anything TM mentioned, is if I'm not paying any attention to any of it to begin with, it is of no consequence to me, any of it. I haven't watched the news in like 3 years, couldn't tell you whose president of what county, or what conspiracies rule the day, and life is ok.
Terence Mcenna is an absolute legend and hero of mine however I am a being whom as a result of experience and the impact of this particular event of which I am referring have questions that make rational inquiry totally inadequate to make any sense of or catalogue that which has been perceived
I suspect if Terrence were still alive today, some 23 years after his death, he would have a different opinion on all of this.
I would hope so, what is happening world wide today would change the calculous of what Terrence McKenna, Ralph Abraham, and Rupert Sheldrake were discussing.
If anything he would be more adamant.
The crop circles were a hoax. And now the gullible are swallowing the latest ufo buzz as if it's proof of contact. And most of these true believers are still busy thrusting their particular religious beliefs straight into the mix.
