Just imagine what potential raiders are thinking: "It might be a crater-pocked hellscape covered with stone from the furthest reaches of space where a single person ekes out a tenuous existence, where entrance and egress are impossible without time and digging tools, but we need to send as many men as we can muster because there's a REALLY NICE BED in there."
To be fair, it wasn't like the colony only contained a bed, a table and a few walls. The bed was made of gold and the walls silver. This raid would be worth it and actually make sense.
@@aliatef7203 I have no idea either, but googeling told me that the development of Rimworld was started and led by Tynan Sylvester, so its probably him.

Tynan always absorbs some of the best mods into the base game. I hope he has a section of credits naming the modders. It's very flattering that the devs think your mod is so great that it should be part of the game for everyone, but I don't think it's good for the creators to be forgotten.
I really like the idea of an absurdly wealthy colony. Give yourself whatever advantages you want for the inevitable hellish raids, but only allow yourself to build things out of precious resources (gold, silver, jade, etc)
Next time start off with like 50 infestations and have a few op colonists and see how that goes. Maybe throw in a dude that is super good with animals and try to tame a few.
@@smpractice2955 That's actually not a bad idea. I've never seen anyone do a playthrough where they rely purely on animals to fight. It'd be interesting to see how far you could get like that
Absolutely loved this new idea, was waiting for it since the pause on the last series. Dude, I seriously love your Rimworld content. Also you're creative as hell so you've earned my long-time subscription.
Fun fact! In real life, Tynan was trapped on a meteor-riddled planet in the far, wild reaches of space with a robot chasing him, which is what inspired the game
Life hack, though it would take a million tries, a legendary wooden double bed is just as good as a solid gold royal bed and gives the same buff! If you lack the gold, which you clearly don't lol, but I just found that out while playing today.
So, an important tip for anyone new to RimWorld watching this down the line: AA's statement that "dirt floors can't get dirty" is only... semi-correct. Colonists can't track dirt onto dirt, so it never requires cleaning until someone bleeds or vomits all over it, however it also has a base cleanliness of -1 meaning the room will always be "dirty" or "very dirty." As such, it would be more accurate to say that dirt floors can't get *dirtier* through normal colonist activities, and it also can't get cleaner. This isn't a major concern for food poisoning (on its own, at least), but it will significantly increase the odds of an injury becoming infected and be a major limiter to the expressiveness of a room. Just some fine details to keep in mind.
I absolutely love your videos. I've seen about 80% of all your content. Good personality, great humor, and interesting game choices. Keep it up, my dude!
friendly reminder that you can set a growing zone over wild trees, disallow sowing, and your lad will automatically harvest trees that reach 100% growth as he would rice. you could even make it a growing zone for trees and allow sowing, but he might try to chop down what’s there prematurely
Would you be willing to make the save for the beginning of this scenario available to the general public so nobody else has to go through the tedium of all those meteors if they want to try something similar?
Tree's will block your wind turbine, however the horseshoe pin/hoopstone ring won't. You can click on the turbine and it will say if it's blocked by anything. Watched the first portion of this live and love the content AmbiguousAmphibian!
What if you tried to do a multipart series where you are a king who starts by himself or with some loyalists using the royalty dlc features and maybe some fun mods for harder raids and excitement
You should do a run where you have 1 completely disabled colonist who can't get out of bed and relies on robots to do everything for him. No direct control of what goes on; only creating jobs. Misc Robots, Misc Robot Extended, Misc Craftable Robots, and Misc Craftable Robots Addon for robots. I've currently got a run of this going, and it's decent to play.
What do you think of an Ice sheet playtrough but viewers control the temperature they can send you an heatwave or the ice snap or even toxic fallout. Good Luck surviving that
You should use the crashing ship mod that actually has destroyed ship pieces falling everywhere with people, neutrals, convicts, all kinda stuff do that on an extreme ice sheet. Give yourself smithing at beginning build a civilization from the ashes of the crazy ship crash. Make a ship crash once every year (recurring event) so your base might get screwed up.
An easier way to make this for yourself is to fire up Development mode, go to "Spawn thing set..." under Spawning, select Meteorite, fire up your favorite autoclicker, and GO! Make sure the border of the world is open however, or stuff might happen.
You could try a subterranean cannibal playthrough by making the whole map under a mountain and the only way in/out for raiders/caravans is through several underground tunnels leading the the end of the map! Maybe even start with 3 goblins and only accept other goblins, hob goblins and orcs into your ranks?
Since the bugs are in a relatively enclosed space, one idea to kill them is to start a fire and seal them in, letting the heat cook them off. This will be difficult as you do not have a weapon capable of starting fires right now, but something you might want to try in the future!

Another (similar but not the same) option, if you don't mind not having meteorites, is the impassible map maker mod which allows you to build colonies on otherwise impassible mountainous terrain, and there's an option in the mod settings to start in the center (the center size and shape also being in the mod settings) Combine that with the terraform mod (can turn stone ground into dirt and remove mountain roofs) and its almost the same thing, less valuable ore mind you but also less tedious spawning of meteorites, lol Hope this helps
